Hi, I think the movie your thinking of is "Grease", the last song is called "We go together", and Olivia Newton John, John Travolta leave in a Flying Car. Hope this Helps , All the best Shaun
If you like the The Rubettes, you might like my bubblegum music podcast, Echo Valley. Check it out. It's free and fun and for my fiends and friends of groovy pop music from the late 60s and early 70s. We play The Rubettes all the time! Find it on iTunes or Google "echo valley podcast". Thanks for posting this fun video!
Your lyrics are partially wrong, the words actually spoken by John are :
All you gotta do is just to move your feet
Kinda a shake your body to the drivin' beat
It's all so easy and ain't no crime
So come on baby let's do it !
:-)
It is true that these words never appear on the more than 20 lyrics sites I went to, (I wanted to check !) but they are easily understandable even by a french man like me and I know them since 1974 !
@TheDiddlysquat the more you keep flaming me in public the more stupid you look.... i wouldnt England's Dream of arguing with you regarding Royal Wedding details of which you must be a venerable and noble expert
Think you are missing the point with the sex pistols and the whole punk movement as a whole. The pistols made a lot of virtue of the fact they couldnt play instruments that well. The influence of punk went beyond the kings road in the mid seventies. Its doubtful that dance music/hip hop would have taken off without punk and its DIY ethic.
@TheDiddlysquat i think you just ate your tale you dickhead... go suck on your royal wedding videos that you seem to drool over..... your premise , from your first comment to me was that if a music does well in the UK charts then its a 'successful form of music' ... each to his own then.... people who know & create music know that commerce has fuck all to do with it... now stop typing at me and fuck off ..vacant you are , pretty youre not

@triumphadelic well its true that a lot of the protagonists of the punk movement were involved in the new wave/new romantic movement too, especially people like Vivienne Westwood, but the point of the new romantics and new wave is that it was a lot of the same acts who had just reinvented themselves
Its worth realising that it wasnt just punk but disco also helped to create the new wave sound of the eighties, the likes of georgio morroder and other acts who pioneered the "elcetronic" synth sound that would become the signature sounds of the likes of Eurythmics, Depeche mode, Visage, etc.
@SuperSimonuk and Kraftwerk , Can , Bowie etc... another factor is Roland making 'affordable' [ just about ] synthesisers . also Korg etc... OMD's first album was basically written on a Korg 'mail order catalogue' pre-set M500 of which you can see here on youtube if you search and interview ..... new music back then was always a reaction to what had become stale, boring & corporate... Sex Pistols couldnt play? hehe hmmm Matlock formed Rich Kids with Ure & playd bass for Iggy Pop
@TheDiddlysquat FACT : God Save the Queen - Sex Pistols The song peaked at number 2 (behind Rod Stewart's "I Don't Want to Talk About It") on the official UK Singles Chart used by the BBC, though there have been persistent rumours—never confirmed or denied—that it was actually the biggest-selling single in the UK at the time, and was kept off number 1 because it was felt that it might cause offence...... THAT QUASHES YOUR HALF-BAKED THEORY THEN... BUT YOU KNOW JACK SHIT ANYWAY ..JOG ON
This was actually written by Wayne Bickerton and Tony Waddington who wrote the Majority of their hits,And went on to own the State Record label which The Rubettes recorded for.

@hnorky, I agree with you, it was a great time and it's still great and fun music to listen. How I love Mud and the Sweet and all the others, and don't forget Slade and T.Rex.
The music of today is a bunch of crap! The 70's and 80's were the glory days of pop music. After that period came house and R&B (Rhythm & Blues? Nope, not at all!). I have a large collection of hits from the 70's and 80's and often I remember the good old times...
Brilliant record

@inlegrial Wenn dein Alter stimmt: Frag dich in 30-40 Jahren, wie man über die heutige Zeit denkt

@fritz5174
The music of today is a bunch of crap! The 70's and 80's were the glory days of pop music. After that period came house and R&B (Rhythm & Blues? Nope, not at all!). I have a large collection of hits from the 70's and 80's and often I remember the good old times...
