  • i fuckin love this song, especially the bridge

  • it's amazing how this song will continue to travel through the universe long after we humans are gone. as our radio stations broadcast these beautiful sounds, some tiny creature is just crawling out of the sea on some distant planet. as our human journey comes to a close, and the tiny creature's distant descendants come to realize the true meaning of beauty, they will hear our colorful signal, and know that we understood the true meaning of beauty too.

  • @MrTab001 Ancient Aliens, man?

  • @MrTab001 r u queer?

  • @MrTab001 Thats freaking awesome

  • hmm.. upon learning these chords by ear. they share a strikingly perfect similarity to a day in the life by the beatles. not too cool man... not too cool. ( G - BM - EM - C - AM - EM )

  • im afraid to die, cuz im an atheist

  • @jjtheslayer69 explain....im also an atheist and don't feel the same, why are you afraid?

  • @MrSkate4weed one cuz its prolly gonna hurt, and 2 i dont feel like not existing anymore, that sounsd pretty lame, but anyways i realy dont see why people like portugal the man so much, i just think its hipstermusic, and people like it cuz no one likes it

  • @jjtheslayer69 go study philosophy and you will be at peace with this issue, or go take a hit of DMT and you'll know what death is like, that's right, there's a substance that allows you to get a peak at death, i shit you not, it's changed my life, forever, research it. and if you don't think PTM are instrumentally and emotionally and lyrically backed then you have some things to learn about good music lad

  • @MrSkate4weed lol void trips are scary had my first one last saturday

  • @MrSkate4weed yeah i love phiosophy, im a hardcore tool, apc, and doors fan XD, and i do know alot about dimethyltryptamine/ayuasca* but i havent done it, the only reason i came to this song is cuz my friend (who is a prime example of a hipster, and the only one i ever met) used to sing it, and i took salvia and i was wisked away into a colorful parodox, where i was stuck fliping through reality, and all reality was layers of colors stacked on each other, and i was flipping through the colors

  • @MrSkate4weed i went through 7 colors, they were laid out like sheets, and i kept flipping through them, and then it got to the 8th sheet, i saw reality, but the reality sheet would always slip away, and i would keep flipping through the 7 colors in the same cycle trying to get back, and after doing that for what felt like thousands of years i fell back into the 8 th sheet and it stayed, and thats when my trip ended, but after that trip i saw how illusive realty was, and wasnt afraid of death

  • @MrSkate4weed and i always sourced this song to be relevant to the philosiphy gained from my trip, but after coming back and listening to it , i dont see any relevance to my trip XD. and i guess watching somthing about stephen hawking on science made me scared of death again, but he kinda inspired me to be straonger about it because he has lived a life severly disabled, and is still so greatfull to have lived in the first place without beliveing in an afterlife type thing

  • @jjtheslayer69 good for you, you're on the right track it seems, at least you've discovered this at such a young age, i was not blessed with such luck, seriously though, what i said about this substance DMT is very serious, be sure you try it sometime in the next 10 years....or at least before you die, it's...well, you'll see

  • @MrSkate4weed lol i will, but im prolly the same age as you if not older

  • Makes me cry every time...

  • 3 dislikes we need to track down and maul them

  • The beginning of this song kinda reminds me of the end of The Man Who Sold the World by David Bowie.

  • im obsessed with this band. found out about them through an ad on youtube that lasted 15 seconds and immediately fell in love.

  • i love this song, but it really sounds like a song that already exists.... i cant quiet put my finger on it. anyone else?

  • NPR hahaha.

  • Nah I kid Hungry Bear, I am Alaska and I have listened to Portugal since before they even went to Oregon to record. I am proud and impressed that this band shares my home.

  • I really can't lie to you YouTube comrades, this band is terrible. I am from Alaska, and I am so embarrassed that those high hippies are notorious for being Alaskan. :(

  • favorite band in the world!!

  • I think the live acoustic version is better in my opinion. I'm not digging the reverb. The live one is much more down to earth and cool, with reverb everything seems kind of drowned, it's a great song anyways.

  • Portugal kind of sounds like Portland.

  • gonna see them in Portugal

  • you're the man
