• Incredible soundtrack!!

  • eeeee this is my favourite movie and the soundtrack is so adorable ^___^" i love the name of this song, weeee.

  • Yes this may be sung intune etc but Daniel Johnston wrote all his songs about things he was going through, personal things and although this is a good cover it will never have the feeling or rawness of Daniel Johnston. Daniel Johnston is not a perfect singer or amazing musician but he is one of the best songwriters to of ever lived. The simplicity and realness in his music and art can not be "covered". I am not hating, I like this version but nothing compares to the original.

  • This is not Film's music. This is art!

  • Stunnin' song. Really. Truely. I found this one first. I made a cover. I love it. I truely do. I'm gonna be falling asleep tonight with this in my head. I'm trying to learn it. Hell - this song, it really really really speaks to me. In this sense - I can't get my worried shoes off. And its hard. It truly is. And when you get to the film - I had to watch it twice. First time my friend was laughing all the way through it - but the second time, god did I cry. It was... beautiful. in the least.

  • Avatar is a piece of shit!

  • Daniel Johnstonis better <3

  • Daniel Johnston > Karen O. Good choice of song though. She's got the ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh part nailed down. :)

  • is not as good as the ORIGINAL by Daniel Johnston...

  • @FondleMyGose I agree. Karen O's version is much better.

  • @everLevy why do people always compare movies with aVatar avatar was a great movie too only very different from this movie with different messages and why should the watchers care about how much money it did cost to make a movie both movies are good its al about opinions and sorry to say but i find avatar unigue too ( greets fro holland srry for bad english)

  • Travel around the world with an Latino women rockmycity.info

  • I respect Daniel, he is a great song writer and in some songs he does it well, but usually his own records aren't that well executed and have poor sound quality, i know, the emotion and all that is very special and sometimes covers ruin songs but i don't think this is the case, anyway, D.Johnston is amazing and i do agree that his name should be somwhere there, give the man some credit!, after all, he did write it.

  • @zimbradohk his poor sound quality is beautiful

  • WOW! The movie is now one year ago! Time flies!

  • Please post this as a Daniel Johnston song.

  • y los creditos para el compositor de este gran tema?! donde estás?! y decis q no robemos musica?! y la compremos?! ...que buen ejemplo q das/n eh...

  • Perfect song from a very pure man. Daniel Johnston has no worries.

  • @axpage Because its the original fuckwit.

  • Can't believe the sound tracks of the movie is so awesome!!

I think i have to buy this.

  • I am sort of in love with this book/movie. The movie is shot just right, the colours match every moment, every feeling. I love it.

  • sweet!

  • do not steal music? this is Daniel's song ill buy it from him but ill steal it from Karen O and her brats.

  • this song is originally by daniel johnston. you should post that.

  • @mariannaroe wow cool i love him

  • love the soundtrack as much as i love the movie.... like peas and carrots !! perfect together xx

  • Doesn't this song begin to play or is playing in the scene where his igloo gets destroyed. Can someone please help me out. Thanks!

  • @plzletmego87 No, the song played when the igloo is destroyed is the song 'Igloo'. (I think.. :p)

  • this movie has truly touched me more than any other movie ever... the soundrack was soo beautiful, I have seen it more than 3 times and each time I cried. hope you all enjoyed it as much as my family and I have.

  • this song makes meh cry.but i love it, and the movie.!(: the book not so much.

  • To be honest, I cried with this song. Emotional ties, probably.. Either way...

I thought that my favorite childhood book was ruined by going into a movie. However, last night, I watched the movie and I cried. It was such a well made movie. <3

  • Daniel is finally being noticed for is brilliance

  • i promise u when i listened i cryed

  • I love Daniel Johnston and I have no problems with covers. He has been covered by a lot of people and while they are great, I never feel they reach the same level as Daniel. I just wish once and a while movies/tv shows/ commercials would use his original recordings.

  • i own this movee rite now an is beta then

    bok

  • cute movie and cute soundtrack

  • this movie came out on my 18th birthday. But I got drunk that night and was too hung over to watch it the next day so I saw it a week after. I love this film adaptation of my favorite children's book of all time

  • Everyone covers Daniel Johnston. It's crazy

  • Best movie ever.

    Best Soundtrack, too. :)

    Beautiful.

  • if i were a baby id fall asleep in snap at the humming part

  • estupenda.

  • doesn't estupenda mean fantastic or wonderful? if so why is everyone giving this comment a thumbs down? lol

  • @Reiki101

maybe because they feel offended by people writing comments in a language they don't understand?

  • i think people understood,

    estupida.

    which means stupid in spanish?lol

    anyways, love thissss.

  • I can make a emo smile !!!!

  • worried shoes :(

    good song

  • i'll use youtube downloader and copy this song..thanks for it

  • ha thats what I did! :)

  • daniel johnston, just perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this song :)

  • Or I can illegally download this song for free.

  • Daniel Johnston's music was meant to be played by everyone. This specific recording is proof of that.

  • That is so true.

  • Karen O is awesome. Everything she does is amazing.

  • agreed

  • nice cover

  • This is originally by Daniel Johnston

  • I just seen the movie , its a good movie , it made me cry a few tears .

  • daniel johnston >

  • This song makes me cry, Karen O sing sit so beautifully. Seeing the film alone, for the music, is worth it. While watching it I loved the music and just KNEW it was Karen O. This song is so emotional, love it

  • take a walk on the wild side....

  • q pelicula tan bella y diferente, justo lo que no esperaba ver porque la sorpresa fue mayor,bien..buen cover de daniel jhonston la chica lo canta genial

  • Lets be honest guys, Daniel johnston is a genius, no doubt about it. One of my favourite singer songwriters ever. Yes, he deserves an immense amount of credit for writing this song but beautiful as his version is, karen's cover is just perfect.

  • from which part of the film is this excellent song?

i have the feeling that i heard it, but i can't remember when it was playing.

  • The song "Worried Shoes" was playing when Carol was showing Max that little village made of wood he created and no one else really knew abut it. It was playing when Max got on his knees and crawled under the table-like structure and put his head through the hole of the table, making it look like he was apart of the village

  • @4everLevy I think it's when Max is laying by himself in his room after his upsetting experience with the igloo and his sister.

  • Which song plays when Max first runs away from home, and his mum chases him and is shouting after him?

  • It's called Animal :)

  • yeah yeah yeah's lead singer?

  • Every single song: Beautiful. Just purely amazing.

  • One of my favorite tracks in the film. Lovely ♥

  • omg! is this song from the part in the movie that i cried?? i cried when he was leaving. i was bursting out in tears. its a kids movie and im an adult! ahhh. lol. are these songs all sung by the same person, is it karen and the kids?

  • Yep, theyre all Karen O and The Kids.... Good cd. Oh, im nearly 30 and i sobbed my heart out too! :-)

  • This is a cracking version of DJ's original.

It brings tears to my eyes :-/

  • @nbinns999

i hate it when people get so mad at Johnston covers...i think his music was written to be played by everyone. Karen O is proof of that.

  • Yeah, I enjoy this cover and love Discovered Covered. Anything that can get Johnston more positive exposure is great. I'm sure he's pretty happy that his song gets to live in a film forever.

  • Nbinn's comment could be taken either way, really. I kind of thought he was complimenting the extraordinary emotional delivery of the song, leading to the uneasy face at the end of his message. Heh. This cover is beautiful.

In another life, Daniel Johnston would be a legend. A real one, not an Indie legend as he is now. Sadly, circumstance has deprived him of his just due.

  • The face was more of an embarrassment of having tears in my eyes ;-)

  • thanks God for this book, this film and even more for this WONDERFULL soundtrack

  • beautiful voice, lyrics....etc-who cares who did the original..-'and good that someone did;)

  • Splendid.

  • This song is so sad, yet hopeful. I can really relate to this message.

  • who the fuck are you?

  • @goshdarnedit

    Just a youtuber, like you.

  • haha so sorry i didn't even send this someone must of been on my account...lovely song by all acounts!!

  • @goshdarnedit

Oh its fine! Why fight about such a lovely song?!

  • Prettiest song,

her voice is so calm and the music is perfect.

    Simple, but says so much.

I could listen to this.. forever

  • to all the daniel johnston fans

daniel wants money and wants to be famous

he has gone on record saying he wishes he could add more layers and sheen to his own songs ... and he makes money off people covering his songs ... quit be so protective, daniel's work deserves to be heard by the world

  • @jmans I don't think its necessarily the lyrics that we all love. Yeah congrats to Johnston for writing good lyrics, but, its her voice that is so awesome, and the music behind it. When he sang it, he kinda.. sucked,

  • Comment removed

  • @jmans Uhh ok understood.

But this isn't the place to moan about Daniel Johnston not getting enough recognition. This is a gorgeous song, and thanks DJ for writing the lyrics. But KAREN O made this song so beautiful... NO... WWTWA Made this song so beautiful! Just be happy you get to live to hear vocals like these. Engross yourself in the music, be calm!

  • dont you just hate the people that think they need to bellow out the fact that they have some extensive music knowledge in knowing that a song is a cover and disregarding any other kind of version...good song both sides of the border

  • @goshdarnedit

    I don't,

    im just sick of complaints

  • i never moaned about him not getting recognition, i just was telling the daniel johnston fans to quit whining. i love this version, in fact it's almost better than daniel's. but, having a good voice is pretty pointless without melody. and the melody is daniel's - slowed down and polished. and, what are you, the youtube comment police?

  • @jmans

Yeah, im the youtube comment police! Betta watch out! Ha!

  • I like the original much more!

  • Que bueno

  • what was the song playing while he's on the boat going to the island? i'm not sure it's on the soundtrack.

  • dang, this reminds me of this one song so bad!!!! its from this wpoman that i think is like 40 something, man it was so like this at the begining, only hers was more depressing, eh!!!

  • The original song is much better but I love this one too :)

Original is by Daniel Johnson such a good artist :)

  • Great film, but, kinda depressing.

  • yeah, that's what i though.

or are you talking about the movie or the song?

  • i agree, is kind of depressing; and it has a nice soundtrack also, well, i like it

  • @mylosorsoleil178 you sir are everything wrong with the film industry

  • 1 of the best movies i have ever seen and i luv this song!!!

  • i'm stuck on whether this or avatar deseves the effect oscar...this was much more emotional, but avatar was more intense....

  • avatar 6/10

where the wild things are 8/10

[the second one was just.... perfect and so UNIQUE. avatar was too much [money] for nothing :/]

  • I absolutely agree!

(Even in your marks you give)

  • @4everLevy Avatar 2/10 WTWTA 10/10

  • @4everLevy fuck you. fuck you. love "where the wild things are" all you like. i don't care about that. but don't you ever EVER hit on avatar. avatar is a beautiful, beautiful creation i can't believe you gave it 6/10. it deserves 10/10. it's perfect. it's breathtaking. every cent that went into making that movie was worth it. and if you can't see that, well that's just pathetic. fuck you. i don't give a damn if people dislike this comment. this is true and you're a bitch for not seeing it.

  • @whiteorchid131 Well apperantly he/she was not the only one who thought it was bad. I think it's just a bunch of movie cliches put together. Almost right form the beginning you know what's going to happen. Who's the bad guy what's the couple in love and so on. It's not something new. IT ISN'T I don't see what makes it so much better than every other movie. It was a nice experience in the cinema though, but I don't think I would watch it again

  • song is just marvellous the same as movie

  • amazing film with a fantastic soundtrack to go along side it :D

  • This song is so beautiful.

It means so much to me.<3

  • LOL. Well if this song is meaningful enough to CuntSalad, it's good enough for me!

  • This version: nice adaptation DAN's original version: owns.

  • saw the movie, loooved it. the soundtrack was right up my alley, sweet and mellow. i could listen to this all day. there were so many sweet things that were put in, like the tower, and the vampire story. it all made the viewing so magical.

  • so agree, i couldnt get that sad fuzzy feeling after watching it, like, dang, one of the best movies ive ever seen, gotta say, it was,,,

  • i LoVe tHe MoViE @ ThE SoUnDtRaCk

    <3<3<3<3

  • she got this from "Daniel Johnston"

  • love karen :) she's wild and calm on the other hand

  • gawd when i was a kid this was my favorite book, cn find it now though...

the movie was amazing, mot much like the book, but beautiful. gawd i wish i could find this book, porbably a collectors item now...

  • HAHA i know!! jeez.

how the hell does someone make a full movie like THIS out of a 14 page childrens' book?! JEEZ i wishez I couldz do DAT!!! :P (L)

  • spike jonze took the essence of the book and created the film.

not relevent at all to the plot of the original book

  • @PieceofMindmusic

it would be logical they would do reprints of the book as they start to release trailers and the eventual film.

i went to the bookstore yesterday and found like 10 brand new copies.

if you wanted the definite original then yeah collectors.

  • Great cover. Reminds me of Kathy McCarthy.

  • I really don't like Karen O but her and "the kids" did a great job covering this.

  • kurt cobain has been dead for over 15 years! credit for what? dip shit!

  • i love this moviee it makes me think....

i also love this song and the song called (L-o-v-e) or watever lol

  • Comment removed

  • hahaha, i cant tell if your trollin or on crack or what.

That theory makes absolutely no sense.

  • this is really pretty. i bought the soundtrack at chapter today.

  • UNCBTC umm i'm sorry where the wild things are is too "conformist" for you why don't you go listen to emo music and cut yourself. O'DOYAL RULES!

  • I felt the same way too. You must an intellectual. Ya don't see so many people express a deep vivid feeling with words like that too often.

  • Comment removed

  • oh shut up lol

  • I want to learn this song on the piano so badly!!

it sounds easy but...lol i know it won't be when i find out :D

this movie was the best movie ever made!!!

  • @nddlj obviously you haven't seen RoboCop 3 ..that, my friend is the best movie ever made...

    j/k

but this was a really good effort by jonze

  • only a really good effort? C'mon! It was AMAZING. Why don't you go make a movie better than this one, then we'll see who's talking.

  • Without the lyrics, this song could perfectly be KW's theme. I mean, she introduces herself as "Worried Shoes" plays.

Also, it really gives the will to walk along the shoreline, bare-foot on a desert and clean beach, with the bluest sea wetting the feet "and the sun shining down", as we walk free of worries towards an unknown destination.

  • @pietroerperugino

Really? It made me want to poop..

  • Cool Good Fun Sad

  • I'm seriously gonna die when I see this movie. Just listening to the soundtrack gives me goosebumps.
