This is a large lens from a 'blackboard lens kit'. Very nice but expensive. However, the back is 'frosted glass' or plastic and that can be found at most hardware stores.
hi! first of all thank you for all the tips and ideas, what type of lasers do you use?and , would a 5mw look well with a fog machine in a large room like the ones you use?
A good alternative mounting location is on top of a 3rd angle speaker or subwoofer. You often have to tweak the spring rate a bit to get the right effect for a given type of music, but it's worth it. You can also mount/glue an offangle mirror directly to a cheap speaker center cone and bounce the beam off a spinning axis mirror onto it. Orchestrates perfectly with music that way and creates some truly awesome effects :)
very cool idea.... I think tho i'll add a little rumble motor from an old playstation gamepad so that its automatic(i suppose one from a phone whould do also) LOL I just had a deviant thought.... the new amazing laser sex toy, light up your lovelife like never before :)
Thanks. I live in Portugal so a green laser point is really hard to come by. I need to order it with shiping and I wanted to know how much power is needed to see the line of the laser with no or litle fog. I wanted to do something like that in the video but I dont want to get the room all foggy every time I want the tunel effect for exemple. thanks
It won't work. It is the smoke that makes the pattern in the air. If you have a powerful enough laser it will show a 'beam' as it reflects off of dust that is always in the air, but the tunnel works with smoke, or fog, or water mist.
I have a fine water sprayer that I use when I don't want to make smoke.
if you are looking for a great deal on lasers go to dealextreme dot com... amazing prices. Good luck.
Cool. Will that site give me a good green laser? Cuz I want one that can last long :P. I've thought of wicked lasers, their prices are much higher than this site.I like the free shipping thing but I gotta see if they deliver here. thanks, tremendous help :)
Thanks, on revews I've seen some people saying the power is not the same as announced and they dont have IR filter but they seem almost perfect to me, I think some dvd writers have IR filters inside so I'm thinking of getting one out of a dvd player and then use it normally.
Mear!

you know what you could do, you could put it on top of a speaker and make it sound reactive

Local craft store. I guess gluing mirrors onto things is common.

Looks pretty good. What laser are you using?
Aqlor 3 years ago
It's a 5mW green pointer. It actually puts out about 10mW so it is bright, but this effect will work with any laser pointer, if the room is dark.

I've gotten a few from this site and they seem to be working amazingly well...
Can't make any promises, because I've only had them for a few months... But so far..
