  • Really love this song. I found this band through Dark Souls and I think their style of music works really well with the setting of the game. Especially this song reminds me a lot of the deaths and pain I experienced while playing it :) I also hope the band keeps up making this awesome music.

  • just realized something, dark souls came out the same time as Rage, but im still playing dark souls. how long was Rage?

  • yes :)

  • idk why but i feel that image of the dark knight is so powerful and sends dark souls memories flooding through my mind

  • 3:16 and onward rings through my head over and over when I see "Insert name has invaded" flash across my screen..I should really learn to PVP :<

  • Jolly good co-operation!

  • @speedlikeninja sun bros for life

  • This song+rainymood=pretty fucking awesome.

  • PRAISE THE SUN! ヽ(´ー`)ノ

  • Scroll down to see people trying to come off as intellectual while arguing over stupid shit.

  • @OmegaDragoon Its a shame too. I was hoping to have an awesome conversation about the game while listening to great music.

  • Good Luck...

  • Such a good band. The vocalist sounds refined.

  • try holding with both hands...

  • 3:08

  • Dmdadnr

  • i learned the lyrics of this song just for the hell of it.

  • crap, now time to look for Chynaash's and plyinglemon's first comments.....

  • chords em am then verse em am gmaj gmaj/f# b7

  • 3:20 and up, only listen to the drumming and the symbols, the sybol keeps on repeating and now whenever i listen to the song all i hear is the symbols. it ruined the song for me :/

  • downloaded picture..... new XBL gamer pic

  • Does anyone else get the feeling that they're sing about the 30 Years War? The song's even named after the day Martin Luther nailed the 95 Theses to a church's door!

  • 1337 likes

  • Imminent good music

  • This really captures that intense feeling with me playing Dark Souls, cause with all that fun and frustration, sometimes I really wish it was over!!

  • @TheFunHell LOL maybe...the sure thing is that i love dark souls and this song sooooo much!! ;)

  • praise the sun!

  • The final line....is just haunting. "I ain't no demon, lord...but neither are you." It's like a big "What the hell" directed at whatever cruel god made the world he's describing to us, a god who doesn't save those who need to be saved, and who lets evil run rampant all over-....oh, wait.

  • This song is so beautiful.......dark souls is beautiful too...everything is so beautiful now...im happy

  • @kato093 u high, bro?

  • Gorgious View!

  • Song starts at 2:54 for Dark Souls fans

  • this kinda reminds me of queen bohemian rhapsody u know like it slow and tells a story in the first part than badass in the middle than slow and sad at the end

  • @CrazyProAmazing

It sort of sounds like Arcade FIre and Johnny Cash had a baby to me.

  • This song at 2:50 + fighting the wolf + it weak and limping = instant lost due to couldn't see the screen clearly. feels bad man ;_;

  • when i listen to this i turn evil

  • Love this song, really fits the universe of dark souls

  • I cant take this.....

  • My mind = BLOWN! this is amazing ...

  • Need humanity

  • Praise the sun. The guy that first tells you about the signs never shuts up about how great the sun is. Then mentions that you probably found "some" signs he left.

  • @Damonrowling

Nah. I'm PS3. I just beat everyone but Nito. I'm making sure I'm well-prepped for next play through. :) Thanks for the consideration.

  • @joopeejoop1 nito was way too easy than expected

  • I can't take this...

  • umm funny .... the catch phrase for the game in my opinion shouldn't be "praise the sun" ... it should be "i can't take this" ... after all you kinda find these messages every 5 mins XD ...... AWSOME GAME, AWSOME BAND

  • *See's Sif Begin to limp and fail in attacks* *Sheds a single tear* I.....ain't no demon lord....*Raises weapon slowly*.....*Cries*...but neither are you...

  • @jonsandersgame Haha, thanks! (made me laugh)

  • great band! really, really like!

  • Praise the ass

  • okay

  • what does that mean? "praise the sun"

  • @ilovemama26 i dont know what Silent Comedy the artist intended it to mean but for us undead warriors it is talking about either Gwyn, Lord of Cinder or Gwynevere, Princess of Sunlight

  • @ilovemama26 In Dark souls, you can leave messages to other players. One of the most common is "Praise the Sun"

  • @jawa108 "Need Head"

  • @LunarEntity lol...

  • @jawa108 You know it's true.

  • @ilovemama26 its from a game Called DARK SOULS this song was in thje trailer so people put refrences from the game its a pretty fun game

  • Why arn't bands like this one and Mumford and Sons not getting alot of play time even on music channles? seriously. this is real music and real words that touch you. not autotune, techno and repitive words like ho, baby, sex, and money and I want to....god people today don't know anything nor want anything good anymore.

  • @Chynaash I'm going to aruge you just to be the bad guy. But good is all about prospective and music is personal. People like what they like.

  • Comment removed

  • @Mrburningidiot Minus the typos (argue* with* perspective*) I agree with what you said.

  • @Chynaash i know i pay attention the words and i love these.

  • @Chynaash true that man.

  • @Chynaash You're fucking right, I thought about Mumford and Sons too. Thanks...

  • @Chynaash To what do we attribute that my friend? Our failing morals? Our technological luxury? Either way, keep to your morals, to your intelligence, and to your faith (whatever it may be) and you will stay the better course.

  • @Chynaash music channels are the way they are because it is what people want to hear... 80% of people in the world don't listen to good music... plus to each his own, some people love the feeling in music... others just like to hear sounds... neither is better or worse, its all a preference. use a mp3 player like the rest of us... and listen to good shit all the time, don't expect people to hand you good music, you have to find it

  • @Chynaash I'll say this, Auto-tune and techno can just be as artistic as natural instruements. It should be a reflection of your understanding of music though. I have no real love for any band that uses them to overcome lack of skill rather than for artistic purpose. I'll say the rest though I heartily agree with. I'm not saying you're wrong, just you need to give more wiggle room friend.

  • @Chynaash I blame the media, they promote terrible music mostly because they'll do anything for money.

  • @Chynaash Hell yeah! Smart people still exist...

  • @Chynaash mainstreams a horrible place

  • @Chynaash So I heard you liked getting touched by music... But yeah I agree, this stuff punches popular music in the balls. Unfortunately it is the human condition to think in mob mentality, so people will always enjoy what others beleive is good over what may actually be more in their tastes. It is important however to not force anything upon people, as each to their own, and the last thing we would want is the more obnoxious fans of their selected popular genres flooding out ranks.

  • @Chynaash

Or you could just say they have shitty opinions, haha.

  • @Chynaash 1.The art or science of combining vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion.

2.The vocal or instrumental sound produced in this way.

So yes, artists who auto-tune, use repetitive words, and use techno beats are still making music, just not a type you like, get that right. Also "god people today don't know anything nor want anything good anymore." Good job making yourself look like an ass.

  • @plyinglemon But they aren't taking time to make it an art form or a perfect technique, and their messages never stray from the simplest of virtues in life, of delusions of grandeur. If they did harmonize it and make it complex or satisfying, well on that day I'll respect rappers.

But I've got a feeling the days of apathy will not be over any time soon.

  • @efgragin Who are you to decide what is and isn't art? Why do you get to decide an entire genre isn't art? And why does it have to be complex? Some of the most beautiful poetry on earth, the haiku, was nothing more than a few simple lines, by your logic this art form is rubbish as well. Just because you don't like a piece of art does automatically make it rubbish and inartistic.

  • @plyinglemon because it is a matter of thought and dedication, and the piece should actually be of importance to the creator.

  • @efgragin How can you be so sure? Most rap artists spend a good amount of time on their songs, and they often make songs about their childhoods or past traumas, so most if not all have at least some meaning to the creators. Want to try again?

  • @plyinglemon "Childhood or past traumas."

The funny thing is, you're absolutely right. Here is a sample of lyrics from a rap that has touched all of our hearts, yo.

"Now this is the story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside down. And I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there. I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called "Bel-air" !"

    Get's to me every time.

  • @greystone554 I get that feel when listening to it, it truly has a deep and prophetic meaning we can all take something from!

  • @greystone554 Yeah, I get the same feel, man. Very good example. Made me look at the world in a whole new way with open eyes.

  • @plyinglemon Thanks for clearifying that for people and showing the world via a YT post that you are a know-it-all and we're too dumb. That was posted a month ago and I've since moved on. (and yes I know you posted a week ago but I've had to deal with alot seeing how my aunt died too soon, 40. and I just now getting back online) But I'd thought I go ahead and replie back. Life is too short to give a damn about what other people think and say, so thank you for the replie and have a nice day.

  • @Chynaash Cool backing out of an arugment bro. And I never said "we're too dumb", just you. And with the knowledge I took your argument out from under you, I will have a nice day.

  • @Chynaash i dont even think those guys are tryin anymore i consider it lazy rapping

  • @Chynaash Because good stuff is reserved for smart people, we don't want this good stuff to be mixed with the mainstream crap

  • @Undeadspiral careful young one, becoming a hipster are you

  • @Jadson11 well you know what I mean, I couldn't think of a better word for the really crappy music everyone listens to. And yeah, it does sound a bit hipster :/

  • @Undeadspiral lol, its ok. I've done the same

  • Comment removed

  • @Undeadspiral "mainstram crap", You're a retarded hipster.

  • @DarkSoulsOST ok, wasn't trying to hipster, but can you think of a better set of words, that describes a very low quality of music with people who are auto tuned so they don't even have to sing well, and majority of the people listen to it just because its on the radio? No, I thought so.

  • @Undeadspiral "but can you think of a better set of words". Yes.

People can listen to whatever they like. If you don't like the music then just say your opinion, that it fucking sucks, and leave other people with their opinions, if they say you're stupid because you don't like the same music as them, then just say fuck you.

  • @DarkSoulsOST when did I say stupid? and who said I said my word was the only one, I simply said majority of people listened to something of "a very low quality", and seeing as that is more or less an opinion. I think we're on the same page.

And no I never insulted anyone, no personal attacks. So no I wasn't stating my opinion as fact, but I was stating my opinion strongly. And wow, no need to get so angry about it, no need to stoop to cursing.

  • @DarkSoulsOST you too darksouls

  • @ryanwill32 What did I showe down his throat, I said the exact same thing as you did.

  • @DarkSoulsOST technically your trying to force your view upon undead just as he is you

  • @ryanwill32 How? The irony is that by your logic you're forcing it to me. *facepalm*

  • @DarkSoulsOST OK so can we all just agree that everyone has their own opinion but the only correct opinion is Mine. xD

  • @Undeadspiral your entitled to your opinion, just don't shove it down everyone else's throat

  • @Undeadspiral it wouldn't mix, if a song doesn't catch a listener's attention within the first 1 second that they listen to it on the radio, then it wouldn't have a chance of going mainstream. This song is fucking amazing, but I highly doubt anyone could think that without first watching the trailer or listening to the whole thing.

  • @Undeadspiral

The real crime is that I can never go to an amazing song like this on youtube without running into at least one entitled hipster/elitist douchebag like you.

  • @01000101011101100110 how do you remember you name, do you just always stay logged in?

  • @mrmasterdocterchef

Hahah... Yeah, I keep it logged in most of the time, but often I end up searching one of my own videos then copy/pasting my account name into the login screen. It's a pain in the ass. No idea what I was thinking when I made this name.

  • @01000101011101100110 one, the word "hipster" isn't a bad one, nor was my comment hipster. notice how I said "mainstream crap" the order of words was clear. Mainstream, what majority of people listen to. Crap, self explanatory. Now, looking at my word order, I was clearly targeting low quality music that majority of people listen to. And it's not like I've gone out and forced my opinion, other agreed, thus it's the top comment. Now good day sir!

  • @01000101011101100110 Mainstream 'is' crap... That's just how it is, a fact of life I suggest you learn to deal with.

Know why this isn't mainstream? Because its good. Its not immediately gratifying and self promoting by way of party theme generic indistinguishable bile. It's a great song, and because of that it will never go mainstream.

Though I admit, there are some really great songs that by some miracle made it into mainstream status. Gotye for instance.

  • @7CellarDoors Mainstream isint objectively crap. Thats just your opinion. Saying it is objective and not opinionated makes you look like a retarded manchild who has something against "The big guy".

  • @TheShammyShammy Like I said, not ALL just MOST. And it is objectively crap. I say this from the happily neutral position of liking music from most every genre.

It also comes down to what you think constitutes "crap" or even mainstream. Going back to my previous example of Gotye, I personally wouldn't ever think to allot his music to "mainstream/pop" but after his last album his popularity boomed and now he is considered "mainstream" by many.

Mainstream is crap. But not all.

  • @7CellarDoors You're so hipster.

  • @Chynaash Silent Comedy and Mumford and Sons FTW

  • @Chynaash Damn Strait

  • @Chynaash I just wanted to thank you, I just listened to a music video of Mumford and Sons, and I love their style :)

  • Praise the Sun and its mighty powers to give you sunburn!!!

  • Praise the Sun!

  • I love this song.

I had to play it before I fought Nito and the Witch of Izalith. It'll get you in the mood to relax and go beast mode.

    Anyone need a Co-Op partner?

I'm level 90. Ornstein's Armor and Quelaag's Fury Sword. I have the Dragon Slayer Spear and 50 Strength. I can wield whatever I want, basically. BTW, don't be mad if your enemies become black phantoms.

They are probably the result of me; A GraveLord. :-)

  • @joopeejoop1 Yeah man if your live and not psn. Could always use some help getting through nito and witch of izalith, send me a pm if your keen.

  • Only reason I prefer this game over Skyrim is because of the VERY low difficulty in Skyrim. I beat Alduin at level 15. 'Nuff said.

  • God damn this song fits the game perfectly. Such an amazing game, words can't even begin to describe it. I'm no fanboy, I love Skyrim too but Dark Souls has left an impact on me like no other game has. And I'm not even halfway through it.

  • Dark Souls; fantastic game, wicked ass story; fantastic, most intimidating monsters/ enemies, ruins, summoning other players to help u out. I love it.

  • Amazing chest ahead...

  • Yo Dark Soul and Skyrim Fan boys and girls chill the Fuck out!! Let us jam to the music and relax, both are great games with their own flaws and strengths but for now we are here to hear the Silent Comedy Fuckin Jam our minds out!

  • you need more skill in dark souls

  • Fool how the flip can you judge a game if you never played it also skyrim and dark souls are different besides the fact they are both RPGs

  • @pat5168 a game* to take lightly**** Spellcheck sucks.

  • @saltireBLACKOPS Skyrim has a much more diverse combat, and I get the same feeling of satisfaction with the difficulty maxed out in Skyrim when I defeat tough opponents. But why compare? Dark Souls is a game for players who wish to completely immerse themselves into it. It certainly isn't Agamemnon to play lightly, it takes a mental preparation to do it right. Skyrim doesn't and can't do that, but it is still really fun, more so in some ways that Dark Souls is not.

  • @pat5168 Sorry to say but Skyrim has no where near as diverse combat, its the same crap swinging animation no mattter if you use a sword or a axe etc, there is no parrying ripostes, no backstabs, no dodging, no hit detection. and worst of all there are only like 4 different dungeons styles which are just copy and pasted, Imean they created a really good world but cheaped out on the dungeons

  • @pat5168 You seriously said "Skyrim has more diverse combat."

    Woooooooow

  • @Writtenjustice

    No kidding...

Keep holding down the right trigger to beat the game...

  • @666SLAY3R666 Yup

  • I don't know about Dark Souls. I only found about the game today(night actually since it's 1:17 am.) but this song made a huge impact. I've actually felt this after hearing a song when i was 3 and heard Rainbow's Kill the king for the first time. A great song and a great band. :)

  • This is the best band I have heard in a while..... So thank you for that, Dark Souls.

  • i'm not comparing dark souls and skyrim,i've played dark souls i dont WANT skyrim, but i'm sure it's a great game,Dark Souls is just FAR more challenging than anything elder scrolls ever will be

  • This is a truly awesome song. :)

  • Here!

  • Played Skyrim, played Dark Souls, both are awesome in their own way. You guys are pricks if you think everything's a rivalry.

  • @pat5168 -.- i'm better than you... lol kiddn kiddn

  • First played Dark Souls, then bought and played Skyrim, then stopped playing Skyrim and returned to Dark Souls !

  • i used to sing too, then i turned hollow =(

  • Praise Dark Souls

  • @klmn461 i used to take arrows to the knee then i broke skyrim in half and got dark souls

  • @klmn461 Oh fuck off. this is not skyrim moron go to a skyrim video and say that over used meme. This is the real RPG of the year.

  • @saltireBLACKOPS well the meme is over used A LOT its debatable that dark souls is the game of the year.

  • @Ramrothc i hear ya i hear ya

    so fcking addicted to DS

first played skyrim, then bought DS, then stopped playing skyrim XD

    dark souls is awesome!!!!!

  • @Ramrothc I'm sorry but dark souls has better combat than skyrim and is ten times harder, it makes you think on how you are going to fight just like real life. because you can't just swing your sword like a moron you would just get killed. the story is just dark and nasty which is just awesome. i don't care about the never ending quests in skyrim.

  • @saltireBLACKOPS each to his own I guess. I really hate these kind of arguments on YT..

  • Fuck both of the top comments.

    Praise the bacon.

  • @cosmicmelon fck bacon and fck the sun

    get sun fried bacon

  • @112523 Can I join that covenant? :3

  • PRAISE THE SUN!

    Ratings:0

  • PRAISE THE MOON!

    Am I doin' it right?

  • @Mounce2 >:| NO

  • @Puflwiz1 PRAISE MY MOON

*pulls down pants* DO EET. >:L

  • @Mounce2 rofl xD

  • From 3:11 begins dark souls trailer

  • Beautifull music and how it is composed, well done. love the lyrics,

  • [Beautiful Sound Ahead]

  • @DocAKATheDoctor [Insert high-five here] ;)

  • So look at it this way. I have never disliked a video in my entire life. I don't get it. If you don't like it than leave. If you do like it. Give credit where credit is due. Whats so hard about it?

  • First five days i was level 71 on this game.

  • YOU HAVE DIED. :D

  • @BajiBunny AGAIN AGAIN AND AGAIN :D

  • So, my crippling addiction to videogames has slowly expanded my musical horizons. I got this from Dark Souls, "So Far Away" from Red Dead Redemption (yeah, you remember that scene, I know you do), Mark Lanegan from Rage, Pendulum from Motorstorm, and God only knows how much from Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3

  • Dark souls=best game of the year.like this message

  • PRAISE THE SUN!

  • Time makes no exceptions. Just because you listened to The Silent Comedy before Dark Souls does not make you better, just like how being older does not always make you a better person.

  • hahah suck dude this game is rad

  • THE HELL MY POEM GOT ALL MESSED UP!!!DAMN...
