  • I love this movies, I cried so much when i saw it for the first time!

  • i was an extra in this film and i still have not got round to watching it to see if I can see myself!

  • Didn't knew nothing of this film in the life of Keats of Fanny. Can't wait till I get a chance to watch.

  • Can anyone tell me the name of the piece of music playing at the 1:00 mark and unfortunately gets cut off in the editing on this video! It was the best piece of music in the film and it is not on the soundtrack. I am in love with it....

  • @slipperybliss the song is called Yearning. It's on the soundtrack and starts after 0:35 seconds.

  • I'm so mad!!! I can't watch this freaking movie because of copyright infringement!!! argghhhhh!!!!!!!

  • 0:19 how gay?

  • @andgadoline omg youre right, cant stop laughing !

  • this was the most beautiful movie i've seen in a long time.

this is what i call a jewel.

    i love campion.

  • just watching some scenes... and i already know this movie is going to make me cry.

  • The director is magnificent, she completely complements Keats verbal brilliance with stunning cinematography.

"There is a holiness to the heart's affection, know you nothing of that? Believe me it's not pride, it hurts my heart."

    This movie is poetry!

  • I love fanny

  • @evermorex15 haha i dont mind, see im mad skinny too XD

  • back in the day when sending a valentine was a huge deal. so cool.

  • this is an aaaaa moment 1:21

  • Never liked Fanny Brawn she was so cruel to John Keats.

  • Jane Campion...the genius

  • This was a wonderful and moving movie. Ben Whishaw is superberb and just riveting. One of my new favorite actors. The best to come along in a very long time. I love Jane Campion...she knows how to touch a woman's heart. Definitely worth seeing, and then seeing again.

  • I love it when he says: Believe me it's not pride!

  • I love how in the scene where she tells him she's been wondering if he's been sleeping in her bed he looks at the cat like she was talking to it and not him.

  • Jane Campion again shows us how to let a motion picture breathe like a fine wine.

  • Quite a romantic scene really-Keats can;'t bear Fanny to love someone else

  • very cute film

  • hahaha nice video, thats sweet how you made it seem like back in the day

  • @Ja2min Well, I think he's suppoed to look frial and sickly, becuase that's one of the themes of the story.

  • lol at 0:36

    ..."this is disgusting!" HAH

  • I have a question. In scene when she saw him off , why didn't she turn back? She just left! Maybe it was hard for her or smth? Please tell me what you think)

  • i think she was realy upset at John Keats for beleiving that she was inlove with Mr Brown that she didnt no wot to say and just left

  • SPOILERS!

if you're thinking about the scene that i'm thinking of (i wont say more since it might spoil things in case you haven't seen the full thing) i think it was because the scene before he says "lets say goodbye now" and then in the morning says "don't say anything". I think she just left so he wouldn't see her reaction or she wouldn't be tempted to say something and ruin their perfect good-bye from the night before...that's just what i think.

  • @acceptanceisbliss

Thank you for your respond. I'd watched the movie so you would have spoiled anything) I think you're probably right. It was incomprehensible for me because I knew I couldn't do this if I were in her position. To let him go, God I can't even image how it hurts!

  • @REYNE91

I believe it was a part of their agreement. Which included no words and pretending he was going to return in the spring. Or maybe a determination not to accept his approaching death.

  • Beautiful film :)

  • "There is a holiness to the heart's affections."

    So true! :-)

  • This wasn't in any theater near me :( I CANNOT wait for it to come out on DVD. I'm obsessed with Keats

  • Ben Whishaw is simply brilliant.

  • I too adored this movie and will buy it when it comes out. He is a brilliant actor and absolutely gorgeous. I just feel they could have built him up a little for the role as he is so waif like. I just felt him very fragile even before he got sick. I understand his cricumstances of poverty, but he looks like he is hanging on for dear life throughout his "healthier years."

  • I adore this movie. I watch these excerpts all the time. My favorite part is 0:15 when he sweeps back his hair or 1:00 when he puts his hands in his pockets.

  • @kbfair I adore it too! I can't wait for the DVD to come out.......

  • "I wish I could invent a method to forget" Keats and his poetry but since "there is holiness to heart affections" and "truth is beauty and beauty truth", therefore, no matter how hard I try to forget you, "you will always be young" with your "heard melodies sweet and unheard sweater". I am not gay but I love and respect you and your "imortal" work.

  • Bright Star

  • Bright Star

  • Those are the best 1:26 minutes of the film. My favorite! You've got both humore and romance. I liked half the movie, and other half I wondered why they didnt stick with the truth, that even would have made in more interresting. Also, their love was dissapointingly based off of sensuality instead of an actual relationship. Other than that, it was a beautifully done film.

  • i mean, it WAS 19th century england. and since when did only sex constitute an "actual relationship"? they were devoted to each other and were monogamous. that is all that is needed.

  • What a stupid statement! Their relationship was based off sensuality instead of an actual relationship? What does that mean? This film was as close to the truth as it could possibly be!

  • you're boring!

  • hahaha.. That was mature! The movie still sucked.

  • a mature response to a mature complaint, darling.

and not according to quentin tarantino and most prominent critics, no.

  • that is such bullshit, considering how many movies get torn apart (transformers 2 anyone?) besides, why the hell would quentin tarantino give a good review other than the heck of it? jane campion got a personal letter from him. don't blame your poor attention span on the movie. a movie's quality doesn't depend on shallow emotional payoff every ten minutes. and its a pity you didnt stay for the end, because everyone in my theater stayed until past the end credits. incredible ending.

  • You have now assumed that I am boring, that I have a poor attention span, that I need a shallow emotional payoff every 10 minutes just because I didn't like this movie, you have no idea who I am or what I'm about. Just get over it, I have the right to my opinion and no matter what names you call me, the movie was still terrible in my opinion. There are many, many movies similar to this one that I loved which is why I went to see this. I think you just need to calm down and get a grip dood.

  • On the bright side..your friend has a really great voice and good songs, she reminds me of Adele.

  • Who cares how many people walked out? It's true there are some people who are not going to like a film like this and others who will. So far the film has gotten a lot of good reviews anyway. I don't care if you're from bloody Hampstead or L.A. What difference does that make? You can be from Anywhere and like or dislike this film.

  • OMG, you are so ignorant, you obviously didn't have the attention span to read my comments properly, instead you try to insult me. whatever...my only point was that I wanted to like the movie/expected to like it, didn't like it, get over it!

  • keats wasnt soky he was short, and in those days 5-5 would be tall he was youthful, thin, The man loved deeply.

  • fuck everyone who says this movie isn't historically accurate enough. ben whishaw was perfect.

  • Comment removed

  • well I must say you all are so smart, Im just learning and Keats is next. thanks for your intelligence..sure would love the clothes

  • wtf are you talking about? vampire appeal? have you seen the movie?

  • How stupid. History was not changed and this was not financed by Americans nor was it geared toward the goofy crowd. You're the only goofy one here making comments.

  • i think they were less worried about *exactly* what he looked like than capturing his spirit. and Jane Campion is hardly a "hollywood" director. and i don't see how this has any "vampire appeal" whatsoever.

  • argggh i want hiiim.

  • seems great to me

  • Ben Whishaw is the sexiest man alive.

  • he is SO handsome!

but i really really desperatly hope this isn't one of those movies were the girl strings they guy along and the in the end goes with some other guy

    especially that balding bearded guy

but i haven't seen the movie...

    i WILL though! i can't wait

  • read john keats' biography. and more importantly the poem 'bright star' its not so much a movie as it is a tribute to the brilliant ingenious man that was john keats

  • im lookin forward it.

  • That looks like a really good movie! I wanna watch it now. haha

  • Brilliant!

    Karl

  • Thank you so much for posted this. I am crossing my fingers for a Golden Palm for Jane next week.

  • love this movie,..among them,.also KINATAY,...from phils,.

  • wat do u mean kinatay?

  • i think,.it simply means,..KILLED in brutal slang words in phils,..but it culd be,..killed in horrible way,..

  • ha ha ha! "killed in brutal slang words in philippines?????" he he he... killed is not a filipino word.... kinatay means slaughtered = killed na rin in a way... sige na nga
