I've never heard of this side effect before. From a medical standpoint, that is really interesting! From a personal standpoint, I'm sorry you went through that. I hope nothing else you take in the future has that effect.
Statins are funny things. They do have a lot of benefits to them, but they also come with a lot of side effects, some of which can be very harmful.
statins are senseless, harmful and deadly. Colesterol = animal fat. No animal fat > no colesterol. Go vegan and no need of statins. I took off my mother from statins within a month. Just with diet. Don't trust the medical industry. Its a business
Simvastatin can cause all sorts of problems for some individuals. I am on Simvastatin and I am sure, in fact I am positive I am suffering side effects from these tablets. Fatigue, memory loss, cramps, confusion and all these are some of the side effects you can get from taking these. Google Simvastatin and psychosis.
@Razamabaz If you're experiencing muscle cramps, get off it. See your doc immediately and make the switch. Take it from a pharmacist--statins definitely do cause muscle pain, and it can lead to permanent muscle breakdown in rare cases. Get to your doc ASAP.
The most important question to ask yourself is does my doctor know about this product and if not why?
Bios Life Slim is listed in the PDR it's a natural product that reduces bad cholesterol and increase good cholesterol without harmful side effects, it also helps with weight loss and diabetes without stimulants

This vid is complete bollocks. I was recently admitted to hospital suffering from acute pancreatitis and I took simvastatin every night for six months. It dramatically decreased my lipids and cholestorol levels and never once caused me to act like this spastic. I call shenannigans.
Seriously, is this individual prone to or had previous history of psychosis, depression, bi-polar and taking medication, ie seretonin uptake inhibitors, lithium, haldol? Please get back to me asap, use PM is necessary.
@anyusmoon1 the answer to all your questions is no. i never took any mind alterining drugs in my youth either (which is what the medics suspected). i was a normally functioning healthy adult until i started on the statins.
@gerbilsnot Thank you for replying. Did you remember the 20-30 min lapses into psychosis and the pain or were one or both symptoms forgotten immediately afterward? I've heard of interesting research on the brains 'lipid bath' and how these statins pull the plug and thus-- your and/or similar results can occur. I pray you've recovered fully and off these buggers permanently. God Bless!
ive been taking the same 40mg simvastin with clopidogrel amlodipineand perindopril while i'm surving from hemephlegic stroke in a wheelchair for 3 months from hospital now I'm walking already I battered out the wheel chair damaged now and never gnna be in it again ever but im still not able to play footbal though but im trying to relearn my swimming skills now.the only sideffect i get may be sometimes i walk sideways. because of balance deficiency lol
Simvastatin will make your kidneys shut down. My doctor wouldn't change my drug to something else. I stopped taking this crap. I feel these Pharms are doing a soft kill on people! I'm suspicious of everything now! Check your meds manufacturer out!
I recently changed by drug store for meds. Simvastatin 40mg. Since hearing about big Pharma, I peeled back the label. Said mfg. Zydus which is manufactured in India. India was once Communist, don't know abt. now. I have other drugs from same India Mfg. I stopped taking them.
People do your research where your meds are manufactured. My heart med. carvedilol and Lamictal, same manufacture! ********
This is similar to my own episodes. I am on Lipitor for my chelostrol but also on sequinal for depression. One creates depression and the other is supposed to counter it. When I ask all three of my doctors about this they avoided any conculsive diagnosis but instead said both these drugs were beneficial to my health. My Doctors are good doctors, I just think they hamstrung by the dodgy science too.
I truly believe that statins caused my father to have a stroke. At 75 his doctor said he had some plaque in his arteries (never effected him from what I saw) and prescribed a statin. After that it was all downhill, muscle wasting, weight loss, pain, eventually onto oxygen, amnesia, dementia and eventually a fatal bleeding stroke at 79.
Depression and memory loss are the main symptoms of simvastatin. Im trying to get my grandmother off them at the moment but the doctor is not being very helpful.
Hurrah for you on posting this! People need to know just wat these drugs can do to some people. We are being cheated out of making an informed decision on rather the benifits outweigh the risk for ourselves. I choose to get off of them too because they almost stole my productive life from me.. I encourge anybody who has suffered with statins to post their own story here too!

I've got those. I always forget to take them. I honestly couldn't be arsed acquiring some obsessive gesture and having it take over my life.

It is a DISGRACE what rubbish our GPs are prescribing us these days.
My mum and dad are on these poisons without being tried on changed diet first!
There are too many quack medicines and cheap versions of 'critical' drugs with DANGEROUS side effects, often made ABROAD.
Other 'cheap versions/brands' of some drugs don't work as wel, l if at all!
What IS the agenda?

omg someone i know has just been prescribed simvastatin. does this side effect happen to everyone who takes it?
TheSnotrag2009 2 years ago
@TheSnotrag2009 Not everyone suffers the same side effects and a lot of people suffer no side effects at all. Luck of the draw I suppose.

Scary to think that everyday, someone new starts on these drugs, with no idea of what can happen to them.
