.... i just thought of something with Mass Effect 3.... during this argument, if you choose either the paragon or renegade, they both say they will fight each other after the mission.... but if you choose a side, then choose the paragon/renegade later when your talking to them privately, fighting after the mission is out the window... so i was thinking... could them having their fight have coincidences in Mass Effect 2 and if it does can it be avoided by talking to them later privately??????

@King0fHarts Nah, face codes don't exist for import characters. I didn't even know about face codes until I decided to edit my character once through a playthrough.
Have you done her loyalty mission? Also, after each mission you do keep asking to talk to her some times she will say she's busy or whatever then sometimes she talks....That's what I did to Jack. ;)

I didn't have the negotiation options when this fight broke out. So, I took Jack's side thinking, "I can sweet talk Miranda later, but Jack's just crazy." Now, I've pretty much done every mission and I have full paragon.
So why can't I talk Miranda down now before the suicide mission?
@matchboxmatt I figured it out. I had Commando. To talk her down, you need Shock Trooper. It provides more of a bonus to your paragon/renegade status. Afterwards, I can just use 2,500 eezo to retrain myself as a Commando.
@matchboxmatt actually, it's not. according to bioware, ur success in both negotiations (this 1 and tali vs legion) depends on how many paragon/renegade points u've collected vs how many you've encountered. so if u skipped an interrupt or didn't make a particular decision, u start losing ground. fall 2 far behind and ur screwed. so it's best to do this scene as early as possible. they also said it's easier to fix miranda x jack with renegade and tali x legion with paragon. me1 import helps 2.

@WackyFunkMunster I believe so. it's hard to say with any certainty because everyone's game varies so much (I have no idea how many opportunities you passed up) but usually by that point if you can't do it, you're screwed. The only advice I can give you is to try and accumulate as many points as possible and try to convince them that you were just kissing up to their rival. If you're worried about your entire squad surviving though, PM me and I'll tell you how to save a disloyal member.

@GBPacor I hacked my save for the purpose of this video. For Jack's follow-up paragon option, you have to get over 90% Paragon. I'd invest in the class-specific paragon/renegade bonus if you're having trouble meeting the quota.

@YesR4U I was actually half way through doing a vid for that! But the issue is that to record every different outcome, you have to save at the point right before you finish either Tali (or in my case, Legion's) mission to record the confrontation. With Tali, you'd probably just have to walk through a door, but with Legion, you have to do the final section of his loyalty quest over and over, and it was getting crazy levels of ridiculous.
I'll definitely do it in my next play-through, though!

Technically she's right in just one case. You find out from the security logs during Jack's loyalty mission that the Teltin staff were hiding their actions from The Illusive Man and feared his wrath should he find out.
Now, that still doesn't excuse the REST of Cerberus' cruelty (dangerous experiments on Rachni, their attitude towards Quarians, injecting Toombs with venom, etc.), but if someone's guilty 99 times out of 100, that still means he can be innocent 1 time.
I have a full paragon meter and it still doesn't give me the option to get mirandas loyalty back
But the way I see it, I only kept her alive in ME2 so I could get the no one left behind challenge and she could come in handy in ME3 with her knowledge of Cerberus.

To get Jack's loyalty back, you have to visit her in her living space in the Engineering deck. Pick "Can we talk?" as usual, but Jack will just say something snide, so you have to pick either Charm to convince Jack that you only sided with Miranda to keep Cerberus' network of contacts, or Intimidate to convince Jack that you sided with Miranda because Jack is a better warrior when she's angry. Jack will let it slide and she'll be loyal again.

I had the option to calm both sides equally, but then I realized something. I don't trust Cerberus. Jack is a million times more complex than Miranda and a billion times better in combat. If you side with Miranda it's understandable that Jack doesn't want to talk to you because shes a psychopath, while Miranda just decides to hold a grudge for something so small.
Wait, if I'm reading your post correctly, you actually had a high enough Paragon or Renegade score to either Charm or Intimidate them both into backing off...and you INTENTIONALLY messed up the argument by siding with only one of them? And not because your Charm or Intimidate options were grayed out due to lack of enough points?
Yes. If you sided with only Miranda or only Jack, rather than calming them both, you'll lose the other woman's loyalty...but you CAN make that woman "loyal" again if you use Charm or Intimidate to persuade the loser that you only sided with the winner out of an ulterior motive.
@StrongGaia It's only automatic when you touch the button, she was still like five feet away. It's a lot less impactful to storm out of a room when you need to stop at the auto-door-which you cannot slam shut afterward-and wait for it to open.
To clear this up for everyone who's been asking: yes, some people can do the paragon/renegade options with different levels in the para/ren bars. The reason is that the game doesn't measure how many points you have, it checks the percentage of those choices you've already made. For example, if every time I had a choice, I picked paragon, I could pass this speech check even if I only had the bar 25% full. The solution? Do the quests with hard speech checks EARLY.

This takes two play throughs, paragon points matter but the level counts for more. If you dont want to lose loyalty your first playthrough, dont do jacks loyalty quest and make her do nothing on the sucide mission or the same with miranda
How the fuck do I get the choice to choose the paragon option "Be the better woman". I'm at 80 percent paragon, I've checked with other people and they said that even if you get to a hundred percent, you still can't choose the option. Someone please help me.

To be fair, Miranda didn't actually mean "Jack's existence was a mistake." She meant, "What happened to Jack was a mistake, because normally Cerberus doesn't torture children; the security logs at Pragia's Teltin facility said the operatives were hiding their actions from The Illusive Man."

I had the option to calm both sides equally, but then I realized something. I don't trust Cerberus. Jack is a million times more complex than Miranda and a billion times better in combat. If you side with Miranda it's understandable that Jack doesn't want to talk to you because shes a psychopath, while Miranda just decides to hold a grudge for something so small.
So I said "Fuck her" and sided with Jack.

Wait, if I'm reading your post correctly, you actually had a high enough Paragon or Renegade score to either Charm or Intimidate them both into backing off...and you INTENTIONALLY messed up the argument by siding with only one of them? And not because your Charm or Intimidate options were grayed out due to lack of enough points?

Yes. If you sided with only Miranda or only Jack, rather than calming them both, you'll lose the other woman's loyalty...but you CAN make that woman "loyal" again if you use Charm or Intimidate to persuade the loser that you only sided with the winner out of an ulterior motive.

@StrongGaia It's only automatic when you touch the button, she was still like five feet away. It's a lot less impactful to storm out of a room when you need to stop at the auto-door-which you cannot slam shut afterward-and wait for it to open.

To clear this up for everyone who's been asking: yes, some people can do the paragon/renegade options with different levels in the para/ren bars. The reason is that the game doesn't measure how many points you have, it checks the percentage of those choices you've already made. For example, if every time I had a choice, I picked paragon, I could pass this speech check even if I only had the bar 25% full. The solution? Do the quests with hard speech checks EARLY.

This takes two play throughs, paragon points matter but the level counts for more. If you dont want to lose loyalty your first playthrough, dont do jacks loyalty quest and make her do nothing on the sucide mission or the same with miranda

How the fuck do I get the choice to choose the paragon option "Be the better woman". I'm at 80 percent paragon, I've checked with other people and they said that even if you get to a hundred percent, you still can't choose the option. Someone please help me.

To be fair, Miranda didn't actually mean "Jack's existence was a mistake." She meant, "What happened to Jack was a mistake, because normally Cerberus doesn't torture children; the security logs at Pragia's Teltin facility said the operatives were hiding their actions from The Illusive Man."

Yes you can, pull off your Paragon/Renegade move to gain her loyalty, although it is harder coz the opening romance dialogue is quite scarce since.
