You, like many many other people, have gotten this quote WRONG, the quote is actually, if your slave DIES after a day or two (not survives) you will not be punished; so if your slave dies from the initial beating, you will receive punishment, if they die a day (or two) after the beating, then that's alright, AFTER ALL IT WAS YOUR SLAVE. :D
You need to tell the truth though, and do a video that explains that what you see in those texts is the OLD Covenant way of doing things, and such things have not been done by God's people for thousands of years.

Slavery was in existence before the flood, so any people easily identified as His people could not have been involved either. This is amusing yet icky at the same time. There is a huge irony. I remember Exodus best for containing the story of Moses. Moses freed the Hebrew slaves from Egypt and went to the holy land. It implies that slavery is wrong. Yet as this video points out, the rules of how to treat slaves is also in Exodus. It implies slavery is okay. The only time when it is not okay is when a slave is killed, which is a very extreem situation. Inconsistincy is a big no-no for logic and stories alike.

I have a question. There's so many different versions of the bible by now.... how can anyone be certain that there's just one 'right one'? They were all printed up man, written down by man, even the original ten commandments was written down by Moses, who was a mortal man and capable of the same sins as everyone. You need to tell the truth though, and do a video that explains that what you see in those texts is the OLD Covenant way of doing things, and such things have not been done by God's people for thousands of years.
You also need to explain that the Lord God of Israel, your owner and enemy, did not invent slavery, it was practiced by your father and master's people from time immemorial. The Bible only acknowledges it, and teaches what to do with those who are slaves, etc.

Slavery was in existence before the flood, so any people easily identified as His people could not have been involved either. Hamites (black to sallow skin people) were cursed lower as a race, by Noah, the man of God, which is why they are, but they were equal once.

This is amusing yet icky at the same time. There is a huge irony. I remember Exodus best for containing the story of Moses. Moses freed the Hebrew slaves from Egypt and went to the holy land. It implies that slavery is wrong. Yet as this video points out, the rules of how to treat slaves is also in Exodus. It implies slavery is okay. The only time when it is not okay is when a slave is killed, which is a very extreem situation. Inconsistincy is a big no-no for logic and stories alike.

OK let's think about "the thinking atheist"; he is an atheist, right? What is the definition of an atheist: the rejection of belief in the existence of deities.
So we watch video after video quoting bible scriptures about a God he does not believe? Why not make a video about Dark Lord Sauron, the chief enemy in the Second and Third Age?
What do you even know about slavery in ancient times; BTW it has nothing to do with modern moral or biblical arguments. Unless you own a slave?

@yhenry77 As for why people who don't believe in X talk about X: beliefs have consequences, and they matter. If people actually believed in Sauron and thought he was a good moral guide, there'd be just as many videos about Sauron as there are now for Yahweh. That's the difference. And the reason to show the immorality of the Bible is to show that it's written by fallible men.

I have a question. There's so many different versions of the bible by now.... how can anyone be certain that there's just one 'right one'? They were all printed up man, written down by man, even the original ten commandments was written down by Moses, who was a mortal man and capable of the same sins as everyone. So why is it that it can't be agreed that your bible is right for you and someone else's is right for them? It's a book to guide you to be a good person, not a be-all-and-end-all.

I see it this way: if you hurt your slave (if we had...) and he goes to the hospital and gets up in 2 or 3 days, it means that maybe you can't do that again, because he/she would have broken bones or something, that means that he/she would be safe from another attack like that. If in the 2nd one he/she dies, then obviously its wrong doing it twice.

If you fight someone and they are disabled for 2 days and miss work you owe them 2 days wages but if ur slave misses 2 days work then u dont have to pay him for 2 days missed wages, bc ud be in effect paying urself. I don't compete with God, I'm trying to defend Christianity. I'm not a Christian, but I know what it takes to believe and be saved, I've met many Christians of many places. I'm not grateful enough, and no one is, and no one can be. You don't know me but you are talking to me as a dog on the street, calm down!

@rrpostalagain Here is another point about hell; it was not meant for mankind, but made for Satan and his angels. The issue: your soul has to go somewhere. We wanted to choose our destiny about OWN eternity; it's called FREEWILL. So if you don't like the idea of spending an eternity with God in heaven YOU don't have too. Sadly, reading the comments below MANY don't. Why? I cannot understand reasoning, but just pride and sin. I find very few people (even atheists) who admit they are sinless.

Atheist should be supportive of these passages, because as an atheist you have zero rights, because you don't believe everyone is born equal, and therefore the more fit humans can supplant the less fit humans, and that means slaves. However, if you believe in a higher power and equality then you have no worries.
