Thornton was REALLY good in his prime, no clue why Jagr won the Pearson that year. Joe turned Cheechoo into a superstar, Cheechoo would have always been a guy with 25-35 goals a season, Thornton is really good, he was the best in the nhl for 2 years, if it wasn't for the early toe injury in 06-07, he woulda won another Art Ross and Hart, he is the only reason Marleau had 44 this year. Owen Nolan was truly the best goal-scoring Shark though, him and Thornton would've been UNSTOPPABLE!!!

@christylesangle12378 Crosby dominated the NHL in 06-07. Thornton had to go on a crazy hot streak just to approach Crosby. Sid finished with 6 more points despite playing in 3 less games. Before Thornton Crosby had like a 10 point lead on everybody for almost the entire season. Crosby also had a fractured bone in his foot for the couple of weeks of the season.

What they have working now is a great combo...Michalek - Thornton - Cheechoo/Setoguchi

all the wingers have great shots, which gives joe plenty of options to pass to. Also, as we just saw in a recent Stars game, Michalek opens up the ice in a big way. Joe can make a solid outlet pass to a streaking Michalek, or he can simply dump the puck down and michalek will catch it and set up along the boards. Thornton is just absolutely dominating the ice nowadays :)
