Can I just say to the "Uneducated Enthusiast" The reason why the NSX is even compared to a new GTR a chassis that was made in 1992 is because of it's incredible corner entry speed they never changed the formula because it worked it doesn't need 1000hp to optimally perform on a track it's not a quarter mile car. The GTR is special because with a curb weight of 3800 pounds the sophisticated technology can propel the car to do a quarter mile of 11.2 now apparently the 2012 GTR can do it in 10.9.

Anyone look up how much the 67 camaro's and roadrunners and Nova's weigh???? Theyre around 3100 lbs which is 700 lbs lighter than these GTR's......... This thing is just too bulky in my opinion, and as fast as you think they are, theyre not that fast............. considering the $70,000 price tag. I've got 50k miles on my Vette and i've driven the shit out of it the whole time and it runs like champ. Doesnt seem to have any reliability issues there son. That little 3.6 liter engine or 3.8 that's boosted is going to have issues way sooner than my V8, and i promise u it's going to hurt your wallet when time comes.

if you buy one of these and you're impressed by the hype, be prepared to get left behind on the freeway by a corvette........... I wouldnt even need to Supercharge it.... with a cam and a chip these LS3's get 550 HP and theyre 600 lbs lighter! Plus they fit 325's on the rear, plus you're buying AMERICAN...... so replacement parts are cheaper and youre supporting our country........... why would anyone buy a GTR is beyond me.......

Am i the only one thinking: fuck this car is a 3.8 Liter car that weighs 3800 lbs and only puts out 519 lb/ft !? It's $70,000 + !!!!!!!!! and its still a NISSAN! It weighs as much as a damn GT500 with less power.........

My vette is the lowest model and is 3180 (600 lighter) lbs and puts out 436 hp naturally aspirated.......... i only payed $30,000 for it almost new, and with a $7k procharger kit i'd be doing 600 HP with a 600+ lb lighter car.........

Grip driving, how about that, we have a new term. Grip driving is what makes you fast and requires the most talent, it's not a "basic" driving skill, it's the most advanced. Anyone can over cook a corner and leave skid marks everywhere. Grip driving is floating it in at the very edge of control, and making the car fast. Fuck a bunch of sliding around, all it does is slow you down. I like the tight confines of control and the skill it takes to work within them.

Drifting on a high level is not just doing a powerslide in a v8 out of a hairpin.. And if thats what you think, you have completely misunderstood something. And cant have much knowledge about drifting, which IMO, give you little right to trash it. :) Grip is amazing enough as it is, without having to pull down other demanding styles of driving..

@505197 its a fact that it takes more skill to drift a perfect line with a perfect angle at high speeds, and i believe it to i have experienced both first hand at a track and going around the turns at the cars limit wasnt as hard because i asked how fast do you go through that turn then i did it knowing i wasnt going to fast cause if they can do it i can but when it came to drifting you cant just ask how fast and what line should i take you have to figure drifiting out on your own

@ak47proshooter prolly want to think about not every race being the same length and I certainly suggest you check out Didier Auriol's (or however his name is spelled) technique for hairpin turns ;) it certainly is faster than gripping it not to mention exit speed / acceleration rate... no need to get angry I actually based my comment on something instead of just lashing out :) so if viable in rally driving... yeah... its all about where and when.

@sm90903 Without grip racing can't happen. Drifting is not racing, and maybe racers tend to look at everything from that perspective. Drifting is a performance art more then it's racing. I see someone drifting and I'm always thinkin how easy it'd be to get around or through him and wave goodbye. As a kid I loved drifting, I drifted my gokart on wetted grass. I grew up right next to a race track with a huge gravel/grass parkin lot, I wore the place out slinging gravel. Now I like fine control

@505197 yes anyone could make skid marks over the road, but how much skills does it require to drift faster, longer and more angle, most people who know how to grip drive but dont know how to drift while most people who are pros at drifting are usually after they master grip drive...

its not "just" skid marks, its about angle and speed, one mistake and your at the bottom, thats why D1 GP drivers are only a handful, and there are plenty of racing drivers...
