The main difference between the two: China's violations are primarily against its own people while the US' happen outside the country. Neither is right, but until the US practices what it preaches, it's just hypocrisy.

Once again, I repeat: no one is condoning China's human rights violations. The main difference is that China's violations are primarily against its own people while the US commits its violations mostly out of the country.

@moopy239, no one is condoning China's human rights violations. The problem is that people turn a blind eye to the US'. They'll make up excuses for the occupations of two countries that have resulted in thousands of deaths while blasting China for jailing one person.
The main difference between the two: China's violations are primarily against its own people while the US' happen outside the country. Neither is right, but until the US practices what it preaches, it's just hypocrisy.

Once again, I repeat: no one is condoning China's human rights violations. The main difference is that China's violations are primarily against its own people while the US commits its violations mostly out of the country.

@1XMarksSpot Well he did actually do stuff for healthcare, not just talk, but his party didn't support him and actually fought against him at times, so for example the amendment he introduced to one of the earlier bills that would have improved it was removed by the Democrats. I'd say you're being too harsh to let one bad decision outweigh all the previous good he has done, and hopefully will do in the future, but I guess you're free to do so.

This is exactly why the US is pushing for China to become democratic. You cant just move from a one party system to multiparty overnight. Democracy is a gradual process that takes decades to mold. It is also different from country to country. However, more can be done in the realm of social issues.
