All these kids are like "OmG i like the Brain we will all get 100% scholarships to Harvard! :D". Do you have any idea of how hard the goal you set is and how few people make it?
Could someone help me figure out what's wrong? My symptoms: Tingling in the arms Pain in the left leg going all the way down to my toes Back of neck hurts Tightness of neck and shoulders Blurry vision out of no where Light headed Fluid feeling running down the back of neck I get dizzy Amost like it's hard to focus on one thing. Copper taste in my mouth, Metallic. Body heating up out of nowhere Body feeling like it's paralyzed and I'm going to fall or black out Weakness in my legs numbness
@ToodGime He just chooses his words carefully, that's why. Instead of giving you fast talk obfuscation he's actually telling you from his soul how he came to this path..
@ToodGime He's thinking before and while speaking to most accurately describe why he became a Neurosurgeon. I am a Premed student with hopes of becoming a Neurosurgeon myself and I work eight hours a day with Physicians of all practices and you'd be surprised at how many of them appear "slow" or abnormal. It's really just a sign of analytical and critical thinking and/or intelligence..

Hello! I know for sure that I want to be a doctor in the future and neurosurgery is my primary goal. I love this field because I am absolutely fascinated with the brain and I really want to help people with neurological conditions. However, the only think scaring me is that I heard it requires a HUGE time commitment. My friend told me that neurologists are usually the very busy ones. Can you please give me some clarity on this?
It's not all about earing 1 million dollars a year, yes it is a very well paying occupation, BUT you should become a surgeon with the mindset of saving people's lives.
who can finance my studies to be as same as this dude .
when we say the question of if you find a billion dollar what you gonna do what than . some said i would buy i Ferrari blablabla . for me ,i will spend it on a 20 years studies and that make people laugh
@minisudanese same here,i am 13 years old to and i want to be a neurosurgeon....i also study the human brain at this age. What university do you want to go to? i want to go to Harvard uni!
You have more than a decade to figure out what kind of physician you'll want to be. In the meantime, you're only THIRTEEN! If your sole desire is to become a physician, focus now on doing good in high school and going to a good university. Honestly, I have met many other students like you who think they will get ahead, but you haven't even taken college level, let alone medical school level, courses yet and so it will only be to your disadvantage. Focus on high school first.
@minisudanese Very good young one. I recommend you start shadowing physicians/surgeons so you see if you like the daily aspects of the job. Then get your grades and extracurricular activities as high as you can so you can get into an integrated BS/MD program. In my case I didn’t know what I wanted to do, and am finishing the pre-req courses right now after I got a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Starting early isn't a bad thing, just focus on getting into an MD program or BS/MD program 1st.
WOW! So that's how and why you became a pediatric neurosurgeon! Hey, it's a good thing you didn't become a pediatric cardiac surgeon because then you wouldn't be MY neurosurgeon! : D

@ainabathula actually, neurologists lead normal lives after their training. Neurosurgeons are the busiest doctors.
