Being an old fan of Perrys in the 80's, I consider him one of, if not the best singer especially live in concert of all time. I think it's ridiculous that other singers are immitating and comparing themselves to him and making a fortune. If they are so good, why dont they make there own music instead of redoing his.

This video was recorded at the Raised On Radio tour in Atlanta, GA. (1986) I was lucky enough to be on the second row. There are a lot of great singers around today but Steve is still at the top of my list. Wish we could all hear him live one more time. All the best to you Steve Perry - wherever you are.

Randy was totally rockin' the bass. Not only that, Randy is a legend and a man who is super classy. He has tons of love and respect for Steve Perry and communicates with him. He also said recently that Perry can still sing decently.

I also love how Cain sings in this and I think Cain can be a great guy.... I appreciate him in this song....Of course, Schon is a rock guitar. I just wish he had a big heart.

I will admit, that Cain (Friga) was close to Perry (Pereira) sounded great with Perry, and they were a great combination. Even if I weren't raised in the 80s, I would love this stuff because I love music that is full of real thoughts, things you go through with relationships, life, and that's what Journey brought to us. That's why we loved Perry, not just for his voice, and Cain does a good job with him, I will add. They were a good team, and he admits that.

This is my discovery story! I was getting an assessment for surgery from my surgeon and the background song that came on was Journey off of radio station background music. Steve's voice distracted me to the point my fear left me. I went back again and had the surgery and right before it started the same song came on and it was like Steve's voice comforted me like no other See, this is what I am talking about. I know, it's corny to the hilt, but it's my story and it's true.

It's just the craziest thing for me to fall into Journey music. It found me on a whim last week and I'm totally absorbed by it. Am I weird for this? Seems everyone had their intense appreciation for them almost 30 years ago! It's all new for me and I like it.

Still, today, his voice is timeless, dateless and refreshing to me. To me, it's not like I am living in the past listening to this because Journey wasn't in my past. Unfortunately, it's taken all this time for me to truly discover them and study the music and their lyrics. I say "timeless, dateless" because their music, lyrics reflect our emotions in daily life. And, we are lucky enough to have these videos to carry us through still today.

Well, Steve Perry was injured. He tried to make a comeback with the band, and it was working, but he had serios hip problems, and they pressured him to have surgery, but he was scared and wanted more time to reflect. They said no, and went with Augeri. Sure, they waited 17 months, but other bands wait more than that before coming back. Perry at that point still wanted to be part of the band. Now, he wants nothing to do with the band. Perry made mistakes, too.
