Interesting. I've got a new HD 4870. On my Q6600 OC'ed to 3.4Ghz I get nothing like this. I have to sit at mainstream, something's up.

BTW, Fraps doesn't cut by 15fps, if it suffered your FPS by more than 3 that would be pretty bad or that you don't have enough memory on the system to run the two at the same time (which shouldn't be the case - it takes barely any memory)

Take a look at some other videos (not mine) with the HD 4870 running this game, this is at gamer - enthusiast settings at a resolution 1024X768 with no AA, and was only recorded to compare with my old 8600 GT. Either you have your resolution and/or AA way up. I currently play at 1400X1050 without AA Enthusiast settings with an average FPS of 30.

And as for Fraps, run Crysis warhead at medium, and hit record, you'll see your fps drop 10-15 frames.

my resolution is lower than yours, settings lower, no AA - I've googled it and I'm suffering from major memory leak it would appear - common bug.

I've never hit record with fraps before! Just used it as observation.

Yes, vegetation pop up is normal, it's especially apparent on lower settings, but is still present on Enthusiast.

Lol (read the info) why do you need more than 60 fps if your fps isnt steady? really most monitors nowdays are running at 60hz no need to have higher fps than that.

Oh and i just figurred something out. Once you learn the different suit modes you should have a mod that removes those HUD icons. Looks more cool :)

have faith man. after AMD comes out with the Fusion(a chip that combines graphics and processes together that runs at 5.4 ghz per core, quad core) youll forget Nvidia and intel ever existed. LOL

do you mean the 9850 or the 9800? Cause uf the Processer does not have a Phenom 9X50 model number then that's why. They has a TLB workaround that took the performance of the CPU's down a lot.

the 9800 was never released i think, so he either means the 9900 which had that tlb error, or the 9850, and if he had the latter that would be extremely strange.

You need a new processor.

Don't you have a HD 4870 already? Anyways, to answer your question. If a computer can Max out Crysis with very playable frames, Then it'll do that with any other game on the market, with frames beyond playable.

I think my PC can handle crysis too though. It's just the Graphics card that can't.

If you just want to run TF2 at max with no lag, I wouldn't get a card better then the 8800 GT, or the ATI 2900XT (whichever you prefer, ATI or Nvidia, they're about the same price). Those cards can also run Crysis at playable frames with a few settings scaled down :)

6150 SE. I love TF2, it's just that I ALWAYS have low latency, yet I still lag, because of the frame rate.

these settings aren't all enthusiast by the way. I just made this to compare it to my old videos. so everything is gamer, while water, sound, and postpro is enthusiast. when it's all enthusiast I get 47 FPS as my max and 24 for my min.

from what I know, TF2 isn't that graphically demanding. but if you could tell me what graphics card you have, I may be able to tell you if that is what's hindering your performance in TF2.
