  • Fuck Babe Ruth too. He did it on beer, hotdogs and cork bats.

  • the natural !

  • the natural

  • One of the greatest players of his era. Its a damned shame that the Mariners didn't go out and get a closer back in the mid-90s. Had they done that, and with all the talent the Mariners had, their story would have been completely different.

Griffey should have retired with a couple of WS rings. Sadly, that never happened.

  • @dd3thebest i AGREE

  • wats the name of thhis song??

  • @dd3thebest Clocks by Coldplay

  • best player ever

  • griffey is the best player ever he deserves everything and cant wait until hes inducted into the hall of fame and i hope one day i can meat not only the best player ever but my favorite player and role model

  • picture perfect

  • God he played 11 seasons in seattle and hit 400 homeruns, and played 8 with the reds and hit 200. imagine if he never was injured and you added an extra 160 home runs to the 200 with the reds.

  • Griffey is the true home run hitter of the 1990s.

In the future guys like Bonds, McGwire, and Sosa won't be smiling because they will always be looked down on with an asterisk. If that's what jerks want as a legacy, so be it.

    Griffey's real!

  • Griffey never did steroids. He would have hit more homers than Bonds if he would have had a healthy career.

  • @SinfulMessiah Very true but the reason Bonds and Mcgwire and most of those steroid users did it was so they wouldn't get hurt and continue hitting 50 homers every year, most those guys already had greaqt power (and im not saying that the steroids didn't give them an extra boost in their power because im sure it did) but being healthy for all those years is why they did them.

  • @Brazel55

Yes, and I admire Griffey for always being a true athlete and never succumbing to the juice. I appreciate his play and character more than I do Bonds, and I do like Bonds a lot even though he was a hardcore user.

  • Wow how lucky do you feel that he came back. Congratulations, as a Yankee fan i was pumped for you guys.

  • fuck Bonds he use steroids. griffey is natural

  • @2threezon3 hell ya yo when people say that Griffey is the best ever it isnt a joke or sarcasm, look at the lists...HE LITERALLY IS THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME.

  • @2threezon3- true cuz if griffey would of used steroids he wouldnt of gotten injuerd all those times

  • Best player of our generation?

  • @spittle8 best in baseball history if he was healthy in Cincinnati

  • @spittle8 HELL NOO!!!!

    OF ALL TIME :D

  • @spittle8 Yeah I think your right.AROD and Bonds are STEROIDS

  • Griffey makes me cry...I wonder how he feels. Knowing that he could have easily beaten most of the hitting records today if he didn't get injured half the time.

  • "If" is the middle word in "life"

  • What's this song called?

  • Clocks by Coldplay.

    Great song.

  • if you think about it.....he spend 8 years in cincinnati...litterally, in half that amount of time in cincinnati, he was injured. who knows that if he'd been fully healthy, how many homers he'd be at by now

  • You could show a drunk punching his redneck wife in the throat in slow motion to this song and it would rule.

  • I'm 21 and growing up in Houston, I had Biggio and Bagwell, but my all-time favorite player, would have to be Griffey.

  • Griffey in my eyes is the greatest player of this half of the century... You'll never hear his name is the steriod scandel, and in 99' when McGwire was mashin homerun after homerun in the derby over the green monster, Griffey still came out as the victor! Amazing ball player

  • Jr. is getting to old to beat bonds record and yeah griffey would of been the best if he never got injured =[

  • IIm 25 years old and I grew up in northern BC, Canada... I grew up idolizing Jr... He still as and always has been my hero lol... when I was 12years old I watched him play and it was one of the greatest days of my life... When I found out he went back I cant explain how excited i was... he's gonna finish his career where he belongs... I will be going to safeco this summer. I cant wait!

  • i'm 20 years old, from seattle. that made me feel so much nostalgia. i feel like i'm 70 reminiscing on the good old days. i don't know how to accurately describe how good i feel. we love you griffey.

  • jr was the only reason to watch baseball in the 90's

  • true that brother

  • I disagree. For me, Don Mattingly was the reason to watch baseball in the 90's.

  • ahh yea hes an

amazing player...too bad Mattingly's last game was in the miracle in 1995 in Seattle :)

  • now that he's back we're gonna take it all! mariners 4 life!

  • still the sweetest swing in baseball

  • jr.s back yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaah

  • Of course Griffey is going to the Hall of Fame. He has hit 600+ while being injured for the majority of the last few years. Hella gold gloves (can't remember) and he was one of the most exciting players in the 90's.

  • he would have been the best of all time if it wasn't for the injuries. hell, he is the best of all time lol

  • If he stays healthy he would have hit 800 home runs. I just pray he plays long enough to break Bonds record**

  • bonds shouldnt be the home run king hank arron should still be bonds used steroids abd arron didnt

  • Well no, he'll never break Bonds record. This is probably his last or next to last year. He's way behind.

  • i want him to but i dont think he will :( to old and he lost some of his swing and you can tell.

  • love tha swing, weightless arms and the explosion and power from his legs and hips. I idolized this man growing up and I can say he made me a better player. Only if he never hurt himself he would of been the greatest ball player to ever grace the field

  • HE'S BACK BABBBBBY!

  • Best baseball player ever.

    Right behind Ichiro =P

  • griffey could do everything ichiro does, plus he hit 600+ homeruns..ichiro is 2nd to griffey.

  • beast

  • It felt right to see him in a Mariners' uniform again. First ballot Hall of Famer for sure.

  • false....totally false..

  • true.... totally true..

  • what are you talking about? do you have any thing to back that up with?

  • no one is a bonifide 1st ballot hall of famer...

  • jr. is

  • i was just trying to stir shit up..lol Griffey is a beast

  • Griffey is

  • So glad to have him back

  • so glad he went to seattle, i mean, i miss him like crazy onb the reds but seattle is the best place for him

  • im not a mariners fan by any stretch but i have always loved griffey and im so happy he is back home. just seeing him in green and blue one more time is going to me amazing.

  • glad im not the only one that cried haha

  • this brings a tear to my eye

  • Welsome home jr. ur gonna bring in fans and mayn i wish we had the old squad back we wer unbeatable.. ken griffey jr. joey cora alex rodriguez jay buhner dan wilson edgar martinez randy johnson

  • yeah right dude unless the mariners turned into the yanks thats only in your dreams plus some of those guys retired so it wouldnt happen

  • underachieving team with a big payroll? yeah the mariners are kinda like the yanks right now

  • maybe if they actually gotten close to being in the world series

  • except the yanks missed the playoffs too

  • im mean ever the mariners have NEVER been close to getting there the yanks have won how many 12?

  • 26............

  • That's such a nice swing! You can really see the muscle in his legs pull the ball! THAT swing is now on OUR SIDE! WORLD SERIES HERE WE COME. :P I know, premature, but fans are allowed to fantasize. :P

  • im just waiting to hear griffeys name over the speakers on opening day.......hahaha he's gonna get a standing O every time he comes to the plate every day! hahaha greatest player of all time...

  • glad he is back. it's been to long.

  • SWUNG ON AND BELTED!!!!!!!!! Welcome home Junior!

  • Welcome home...

  • THE KID!!!!!!!!!!! damn!..that swing. I think I might start watching baseball games again unlike the days I used to watch the games at the Kingdome..

  • WELCOME HOME JUNIOR

  • HAHAHAHAH WTF!?!?!?!?!

  • what the fuck are u talking about??

  • welcome back to Seattle Kid!!! your a little older now, but Seattle loves you!!! go 2009 M'S!!!!!

  • As a kid, their wasnt a single player in sports who I idolized more than I did Junior. I dont care if he bats .130 with no knocks, he'll still het a standing ovation, every at bat from me; he wont be around for ever, and Seattle fans are lucky to see this day come. Welcome home Junior!

  • i wanna tell the 11 year version of me that cried when he left that hes back!!!!

  • Hell ya he's back!

I can't stop watching Griffey videos, my oh my

  • Mariners baseball, my oh my.

  • official we got em back! :)

  • face it guys i have a feeling he is coming to ATL!!

  • Too bad he's coming to the A guys! Go Braves!!!

  • GRIFFEY IS BACK HOME!!!!!!!!

  • WELCOME BACK TO SEATTLE, GRIFFEY!!!

  • AMEN BROTHA!!!!!!!!!! iM SO FUCKIN EXCITED.

  • Easy now, in all likelihood he is headed for the Braves. There's still a chance that he goes to the Mariners but it's looking more and more like he's a Brave in '09.

AJC even reported he'd chosen the Braves, but Griffey claims he hasn't made a decision yet. We should know by tomorrow at the latest.

  • he's back....

  • baseball hasn't seen a more beautiful swing...it's art...

  • I agree but check out will clark

  • he's got nothing on Griffey..

  • The backwards hat, the smile, the swing, the catches at the wall, 1995, the kid. He needs to retire here.

  • Bring Back The Kid!

  • Griffey has been an icon in seattle, and i would love to have him back, heck build a statue of him at safeco! but would the mariners want to spend like 5 million on a beat up player whose in his late career. as of 2009, wasnt our idea to build with youth?

  • I'm not a Mariners fan, but I think Griffey should retire where it all began.

  • griffey aint comin back

  • Bring him back

  • chicago

  • who cares if hes not as good the last time he was on the m's, if he hits 260 with 25 home runs that would be way better than anybody did this year (except beltre) BRING GRIFFEY BACK!!

  • Perfection.

  • im related to him! im related to ken griffey!!! omg!

  • no you're not give me proof and i'll believe you.

  • i would bt idk how....?

  • Griffey basically did what Don Mattingly did. The best for 8-10 seasons and then total mediocrity.

  • you referring to his 3 Rbi in the past 12 games or that run he scored in game #1?

  • mid 90's in the kingdome where the funnest times ever

  • Nicest swing ever

  • i cant belive hes on the white sox now, shyt!!!

  • Griffey is in cinci and i'm a huge fan of the Reds but, I guess we could trade him back for a good young pitcher.

  • best swing ever griffey has a set of quick hands

  • OMG I have this swing on a hologram 5x7 thing I got from the Kingdome as a little kid. Thanks for the memories, Griffey.

  • griffey is a great ballplayer. he has great range and good batting skills. i wish we had him back in seattle

  • fuk u keep him in cinci i live there and get to enjoy him unlike u bitches

  • fucc u son! and fuck cinci too!

  • Max92292: The song is Clocks by Coldplay.

    Best swing I've ever seen.

  • thanks

  • what song starts in the background?

  • Bring Griffey back! We need help baaaaad

  • i called it two months ago and im saying it again. Griff will be bak in seattle and will retire there. he is the man.

  • Griffey is going to be a Brave. Face it.

  • lol

  • Well, I stand corrected. Congratulations, I'm sure you're happy to have him back, just as I am very disappointed not to have him on the Braves.

  • Ken Griffey Jr. has THE most perfect swing in baseball. I have manlove for him and always have. I am a huge fan of Ted Williams and I think that Jr. has the swing most similar. He also has character, unlike his counterpart, Barry Bonds. If he had not been injured for so many games in his career, he would have 700 home runs at this point, I think. I am a Mets fan, btw. I am first a baseball fan.

  • thank you for posting this. I tell my boys that Griff Jr. has the best swing in baseball and now I can show them. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!

  • i love griffey he has always been my favorite player in the mlb he is greatest player ever

  • I'm pretty sure that Ken Griffy Jr will retire as a Red, at lest thats what I hope happens.

  • just so perfect...he should be the logo man

  • My favorite all-time baseball player!

  • The most beautiful baseball swing i've ever seen!!!!!!

  • The most beautiful baseball swing i've ever seen!!!!!!

  • i love mariners one greatest baseball stories of all time

  • Hope he stays healthy, it'd be cool if he went DH for Seattle.

  • Brings tears to my eyes lol

  • I was hopeful for a couple seasons in Seattle too, but I think if he "retires as a Mariner" it'll be like how Jerry Rice signed a one day contract with the 49ers. I dunno if Junior would be willing to do the whole season thing at this point in his career and with his kids growing up. hopefully tho. maybe HE could get them to the freaking PLAYOFFS! gah.

  • Sweetest swing ever!!! Not just lefty.

  • amazing good work

  • He said that he owes it to Seattle to retire as a Mariner, so hopefully that's true. He's still my favorite player ever.

  • Sweetest lefty swing in baseball!
