  • The police station was actually the police prosecutors' office next door to the St Kilda police station. To make the set look authentic the reproduced the front desk and CIB office from St Kilda police station. Tye plan was to serlt the show in St Kilda but the city council kicked jp a fuss so Crawfors used the fictional Yarra Central name instead.

  • Wasn't their police station the old local Divisional HQ at Montague in Montague st South Melbourne?

  • @BJBTJF I'm not sure what street it is but I'm sure my father said it was in South Melbourne

  • its great to see this at all..BRILLIANT stuff...they were so serious programs..Jack Fegan was a legend...an era sadly long gone..thanks for posting

  • It's great to see some old footage of Fitzroy (a suburb of Melbourne's inner nth) : The location shots are of Mahoney and Victoria Streets, which are b/w Brunswick and Nicholson Streets, one block from Johnston. A recognisable landmark is the big chimney, which has never been demolished, and, surprisingly, neither have any of the houses shown in the wide street shot. I'm a local, so I see these streets everyday - nice to see 'em here. Thanks for sharing.

    ps. great theme music!

  • The acting was so intense back then, its good stuff.

  • Jack fegan!!! a real crawfors stalwart
