This single was first released in 1970 as Atlantic 2716 and then charted in 1971 as Big Tree 109. It only reached #71 in the U.S., due to AM radio program directors fear over any song with "hell" in the lyrics. That';s really tragic, because this is one hell of a great record. Among the members: bass player MIKE Osbourne, whom some imistakenly have confused with OZZY Osbourne. Nope -- and this record is far BETTER than anything Ozzy Osbourne ever cut!
Chuck, there was a member in this Band named Mike "Oz" Osborne. Ozzy Osbourne was never in this band. If anyone has or can get me the Lyrics to this song, send them to wljmmcg@aol.com. God knows I have googled and searched for the words to this song, and have came up empty so far.
When this was played on the radio in many cities there were quite a few "BLEEPS" in it. We were a bit more conservative back then. Still love the song.
Brian mathew played 'shame' this Sat,on radio 2,and referred to Mike 'Ozzy' Osbourne dispute, was he Ozzy Osbourne ??,RUBBISH,Mike Osbourne was a bass guitar/vocal from LYMM Cheshire.Played with local warrington bands apart from this gig for a year or so.After leaving the Lanterns he went to pipe fitting and worked with me in groups around warrington.Luvs a pint, cheerrs ozzy !!!!!
Ozzy Osbornes old group before Sabbath. I liked these guys better than Sabbath. Only song I know of them is Shame, Shame. Nice to see that had out other stuff.
This was not John "Ozzy" Osbourne singing ... I like these guys but to me they are totally different then Black Sabbath, for one this is dated sounding-it sounds like "late 60's" whereas Black Sabbaths first and second album (recorded in 69' and 70' ) do not have a dated feel to them, also on those early Sabbath albums the vocals were almost baritone at times while these are not too low and more upbeat and poppy in their texture
The record was first released in 1970 as Atlantic 2715 -- and flopped. Reissued as Big Tree 109 in 1971, it reached #74 over a six-week run. Why did this incredibly good record not soar higher? Maybe it was the repeated use of the word "hell" -- and the sexual subject matter. It's too bad -- because this is one hell of a great record!
GOOD ONE,

Cheryl, looking at this groups bio, one member of this band was Mike "Oz" Osborne. This is not Ozzy Osbourne. But I like you remember "Shame Shame".
