Baba Bulleh Shah was a sufi saint who left all worldly pursuits. He wanted to discover the mystery of his own existance. He wanted to know his own real identity. One by one he denies what he is not. He is anguish in discovering and solving the secret of "self".However in the end he affirms that he knows none other than God who was the First and will be the Last. This affirmation contains the truth of his own identity-he was and has been "one" with "The Truth"(or God).

Sai Bulleh Shah devoted his life to his Master Shah Inayat and wrote all these Kafi's as his undying love for his Master..Wadali brothers have devoted their life to bring out the treasure to this world..I bow to these Great Masters. Some people are trying to prove that Baba Bulleh Shah was not Muslim, others are trying to prove that he was Muslim.

Why does it even matter? What matters is that we follow (if we can) what he said. I think, his message on spirituality/religion/god transcends all religions and is for the whole humankind including atheists like me.

He definitely was one of the best poets this world has produced so far. Its very unjust to put him into religious box. He definitely is beyond religions.

I belong to Bullah shahs City Kasur, i read his whole history, Go and read whole of his poetry not only one Poem, He was Wali Allah Bulleh Shah is from Peophet Mohammad family 12 th Generation,Lot of Mircals are related to Bulleh Shah, He was student of Innayat Shah Qadri( a Wali of Time) Many of his poem are refered to him by His Name, like Bulleh Shah Nu Sadu Shah innayat de Deray etc)

@redaag actually this poem is to deep for you bulleh shah was a very big wali and some of the things he says are to deep you have to look into every word. the reason why he says he was not a pure muslim is to try and say that he was nothing and ever body is better then him. this is called ajazi. also the reason why he says i am not a muslim in a mosque is to tell us that he is not those type of ppl who forget allah and only remember him in mosque that he is always thinking of allah.
