@Gerardo1999 Yes the EOS Util works if you tether the camera to a laptop, I think that it actually allows you to take more pictures as well.. since the LCD isn't on and you're not actually initiating shutter with the shutter button. I took 1200 pics today with the camera tethered for my first timelapse and the batter still read as full.. factory specs say only around 800 on a charge, I have a Canon 450D
Yes, it is possible. It has no infrared connection, but the simple standard cable intervalometers work.
But i would advice against the original canon ones. They are REALLY expensive for their functionality.
I got mine on dealextreme for $30 or so, and it works just fine.

Its just made using a tripod and an intervalometer to shot a picture every 2 seconds.
They are expensive from Canon, but you can get a decent one form dealextreme for 35$ or so.
