  • If you google, "Sityodtong Promotional Video" and watch the version that is on Google Videos, which is the more complete version being about 30 min long as opposed to the youtube video which is only 10 min.......Pay attention around the 7:32 mark and catch a glimpse at the martial skill of Kru Mark. It's just smooth neck kick city to a KO.....and this was one of his fights over in Thailand. I believe he finished the fight in under a minute or so with smooth neck kicks.

  • He seems slow

  • @TheUfchink He's just messing around hitting some pads. There's a time and place to work on stuff at a high pace. I'll assure you that he is very fast, powerful and has absolute perfect technique.

  • If your foot is relaxed there is much less chance of injury if your opponent were to move away from your kick. If your foot is flexed downward your more likely to tear or strain the tissue on top of the foot. In fact if you watch closely when Mark kicks you'll notice his foot slightly wraps around the far pad on contact. Give it a try!

  • Those Thai Pads are cool! Who makes them? Twins? windy? Fairtex?

  • @chanheurng Tapout.Worked with those few times pretty solid pads.

  • @damirr87 Thanks bra!

  • Is there a reason he's got his feet like that on his kicks?

I always point my toes and was trained to do so for various reasons.

  • @Anathematicmusic i trained with sityodtong singapore before. So if u mean his toes are pointing straight at impact instead of toes pointing at pads because if you hit it wrongly, it may cause some injuries.

  • @MrMMAdude13

No I want to know why he's not pointing his toes away even more. We point our toes straight down like as if the leg never stops, it's s flat surface from our knee to our toes. I feel like he's not pointing as much as we do in our gym.

  • @Anathematicmusic I'm not realy sure, i kick the way he kicks, well maybe different gyms different styles i guess?

  • @Anathematicmusic The leg needs to be relaxed. if you flex your toes, then there is tension in the leg which is not good technique. Your legs should be absolutely relaxed when kicking.

  • @matrix31003

That's one way people are trained to do it. That's the baseball bat method method where you let your leg make it's own contact.

In my gym (Cung Le) we aren't trained that way, we point our toes to the floor and we're on the balls of our feet when kicking and parrying.

I agree you can injure yourself. I've only ever seen one fighter do well with a pointed toe kick and he's a behemoth of a man who fights in k-1. I think he's so big that his feet are thick enough he can actually do it effectively, but for a guy like me of a normal size, I have to point my toes down to avoid injury.

  • @Anathematicmusic

    I guess so :P

  • whats up with those girly ass pads? its like zebra striped

  • Yes...check out other videos and you can see him when he fought in Thailand

  • @kirkneis I would love to see some, don't suppose you have any links, youtube isn't being very helpful! Cheers!

  • Thanks for sharing this pad work video. Very good form, and tecniques on the pads.

  • Was DellaGrotte ACTUALLY a good fighter? or just a good trainer?

I'm not being clever, I've just never seen videos of his Muay Thai
