When I was learning Arabic in college, I would put Fairuz on the stereo while doing my lessons in hopes they would become easier with her help. I started with just a few songs with nice, slowly-sung lyrics like this one, but pretty soon I was listening to Fairuz more than working! Years later, it is still the same. Thank you, Fairuz. You are the greatest.

Ah what a sweet old days, i was only six years old when my mom used to listen to it every morning on the Syrian national radio!!! they used to play Fairuz's songs from 8 am to 10 am if my memory served me well!!! Ahhh sweet oold days, more than 15 years ago, i was only 6 years!!!!!!!!!
