Another comment about Macedonia i don’t now why try to name so badly as the land of the Slavs, In Ancient Greece there were Greek states -countries with different Greek races they name themselves Hellenes(Greeks),even now there are the same Greek places  with their own identity and race From the Asia (black sea witch now they’re living in Greece) - to west Greece

@we4kf00l at that time macedonia ( south macedonia ) was a greek city state. greeks were divided into many city states such as: Athens, Corinth, Sparta, Macedonia, thespians, and more. so its the same thing.

Depends of the time you are speaking of though. The Macadonians in the 5th century BC for example (roughly the classical age) had a very distinct culture and were not considered as Greeks. It was only with the unification of Greece under Philupus II that they were considered a Greek state. But this was only so because the Macadonians WANTED to be seen as that.

But let us then agree the Hellenistic phalanx is showed rather than the classical phalanx.

Legend went that the Macedonian kings were of Greek origins, but the average Macedonian was not. Ans aside from that the formation you aere showing is called the 'Macedonain Phalanx', wether Greeks used/invented/Macedonians were Greeks or not. The "Greek phalanx" is the name for the formation where a shield wall is formed with hoplons or aspis, in combination with the use of a 1 handed spear.

@Jeffanos History (Our view of history) changes all the time and it is rewritten all the time, it is ignorant to suggest otherwhise and it is ignorant to only value the source supporting your view and calling the rest bullocks. Macadonians had a very distinct culture and development and most Greeks (Dorian, Ionian and Corinthian) looked down on them, but that is NOT the point of my original post. My point IS that this vid. is showing the Macadonian Phalanx and calling it Greek, that is all.

@Jeffanos Chill out Jeffanos... Don't get all personal and upset over a healthy discussion. You are saying that rewriting history is a crime? Thus you say pretty much every historian is a criminal. Whenever new evidence is brought up, or when sources are studied from a different perspective, the history is rewritten. Take a modern history book on the Crusades for example, and a 40 years old one on the same topic. You will see the differences.

This isn't about who is good and who is wrong (although such things don't exist in History) this is about who is Greek and who is not....This is insane who would say that Napoleon wasn't French?? Who will say that Sallah al Din wasn't Kurdish....Alexander the Great not only expanded Greek culture but he always mentioned his Greek heritage like all Macedonians did...

Even now in the Netherlands (I don't) we call people who have Turkish origins but were born in the Netherlands Turkish.... So you can debate those things. Aside from that, why are you ignoring my points on rewriting history? I'm just saying (my initial point) that the Phalanx showed is a Macedonian Phalanx and not a Greek one. The formation shown in this movie is called the Macedonian Phalanx and not the Greek Phalanx. Wetter the Greeks used it or not, it is just the way it's called. facts?! what facts? this was just a montage of pics some guy found on google images set to opera music.. a few of them even depicted hoplite warfare in the snow which is inaccurate because the greeks waged war only during the warm season
