  • more!!!!!

  • holy fuck that launch was awesome, like that mexican said... looks like the car of the devil

  • Might not be the fastest GN but its got enough torque to rip a house off its foundation!

  • Love the tag, thats big boy compression.

  • just 100% freakin bad ass...love this sooo much!!!

  • Dear Santa.........

  • omg :D

  • sweet ride. real muscle machine

  • i love it how hard was it to do the conversion to diesel on a car that old

  • very cool i bet it took alot of time and money

  • THATS bad-ass , mad props for uniqueness!

  • that is a bad ass street machine. i would not challenge it

  • love the L-plate

  • dude that thing is a monster!!!

  • what does everybody complain??..Hmm..i LIKE this vehicle

  • @DIENAMICProductions so anxious couldn't even read the full title, fail....

  • whats it run in the 1/4 mile?

  • @loudpipesavelives69 Consistent low 12's

  • @loudpipesavelives69 low 12s,, yeah baby. tune her and nitro her and go for 11s. kill everything in a race.

  • awesome car

  • does it have an allison in it too?

  • I love the license plate haha

  • Badass

  • That is the shit dude!!!!!

  • This gets my approval :)

  • @DIENAMICProductions have you done that to a car? have you ever droped an engine block and made it work, wired it to the harness, mounted the transmission. shove a differential in to the back end of a car? nope didnt think so

  • @DIENAMICProductions have you done that to a car? have you ever droped an engine block and made it work, wired it to the harness, mounted the transmission. shove a differential in to the back end of a car? nope didnt think so

  • nice!!

  • That is a badass ride sir!!

  • @DIENAMICProductions Let's see..... uummm maybe because'GN's look so cool... or you'd rather make it look like a Gremilin or something like that?

  • Like it! but a v8 gasoline woulda been nicer to hear. still sounded like a beast!!

  • OK dude,nice car,my buddy has a duramax truck,with Banks everything

  • so YOU call it a gn,and from the back it looks like a gn.am i wrong to tell you "butchered",didn't think so,I'm rarely wrong,so here is a gutless with a diesel everyone

  • @koretell Chill, it's all part of the plan....

  • @koretell It even says in the description "This is actually an Oldsmobile chasis that was converted into a Grand National looking Buick." I even copy/pasted that from the description. Apparently you rarely read either.

  • @koretell gut less. hahahaahahaha .bud she runs low 12s. how is that gutless.

  • @koretell derp, read the description next time beaner

  • @koretell Damn dude, hate much? Drink your ass another bottle of Hatarade and shut the fuck up.

  • Butchered

  • @koretell U think so, this was an Oldsmobile Cutlass turned into this GN looking beast, I really dont think it was butchered but mort like it was reborn...

  • @MarvinSanti Dude that is awesome!! I love the sound!!! good video

  • i am never wrong because i said so and i know everything that world is flat and i am percfect. grow up

  • @koretell butchered.... it now gets twice the fuel economy and could probably outperform the original....

  • Looks like a badass conversion. I would loose it if I saw a buick roll up and start rollin' coal. Haha love it

  • Grand Nationals were cool bc of the turbocharged V6. Its a shame for this car

  • @raykeens Read description, this is not a GN this is a diesel oldsmobile... Now tell me if its cool or not...

  • @MarvinSanti ah gotchya your title "Duramax Diesel Grand National" made me think otherwise. sweet ride

  • All these redknecks that think smoke is okay for the environment because it "settles to the ground" should think about the soot "settling in their lungs." Besides, smoke means high EGT and that means cooked turbos.

  • sweet car man love the conversion would like to try it myself i have an 88 cutlass sitting in the shop just cant pick a motor for her like the vid and yes i read the description before commenting!! like some people should do!! you have any tips for a conversion like this the motor not the replica of a gn anyways nice video man

  • I highly doubt this is a redneck conversion.... it seems to be a moving vehicle after all. This is a cool idea. And I'm sure the fuel economy cruising at highway speed is better than any shitbox rice burner. The ignorant comments just show how little you internet mechanics really know. Do yourself a favor, go turn a wrench on something for once rather than just commenting on shit you have NO CLUE about. +1,000 on getting a tuner for this beast!

  • @filthy250 I completely agree, the vehicle's official web site states that this car is running 19mpg on highway, that's 4 more than the 15mpg the stock 307ci V8 can give Very impressive to me....

  • @filthy250 PPE Hot2, or Edge.

  • @MotoX179 Thats what Im getting once my 08 rolls 160,000KMS. But only because I need to ditch the can (DPF), straight pipe it, Do a S&E Intake, and then a set of guages (Boost, Pyro, and fuel pressure (Rail pressure)

  • fucking redneck americans ruinging the planet for your retarded fun

  • great plate! 18:1 FTW

  • Much better than the turbo v6 original powerplant. Probably a neck breaker, cool conversion. If thats stock, put a tuner on it and hold on for dear life.

  • you cant tell where the burnout cloud starts and the soot ends. awesome car=)

  • if this made as much smoke from the tires as it did the exaust it would be cool

  • This make me embarrased to live in the south the person that fucked up this gn is prolly the dumbest person alive

  • @skaterotwell Read the video description please... I believe you will change your mind afterwards....

  • this isnt cool, only for retarded rednecks..

  • @T0BBi94 What makes rednecks retarded? I'd like you to explain as you are highly against them, I see.

  • @T0BBi94

You aren't cool, body kits on cheap ass four bangers are retarded.

  • @FANADICALCOWHEAD Never said i like body kits, but i like when a engine goes forward instead of pulling out smoke, only rednecks thinks its cool others think its retarded because it looks like the engine is broke and that you guys think its awesome

  • @T0BBi94

Pulling out smoke or BLOWING out smoke? It's a diesel it's gonna smoke... That engine has enough torque to rip your little rice box in half. Everyone has preferences though

  • @T0BBi94

You do realize that the Duramax diesel pushes out 397hp @ 3000rpm 765lbs of torque @ 1600RPM

that isn't just for blowing smoke, that's for taking off in a hurry.

  • @FANADICALCOWHEAD Thats the 2011 Dmax. My 08 is advertised at 365HP@3000RPM, and 685@1600RPM (If I remember correctly)

  • @T0BBi94 Anyone who has owned a diesel will know, that The Smoke coming from the exhaust is Unburnt fuel and Soot. Thats it. Its not as bad for the environment as your VTEC, because it is denser than air and settles back down to the ground. Thus, reducing the greenhouse gasses by a LongShot.

  • @MotoX179 Look up "The Great Smoke" of London in 1952. A weather inversion trapped particulates from coal fired power plants, the same type of particulates as those that make up diesel smoke, and killed 4000 people over a period of 4 days. Soot has also been proven to cause cancer. By your logic, coal fired power plants should turn their big smoke stacks towards the ground. So why don't they? Why do they build stacks higher and higher? Because it is common sense that breathing smoke is unhealthy

  • @werdupboyee If I remember correctly, it was called the "black plague". If you put a diesel beside a gas motor, the exhaust Gasses from the Gas would be much more toxic. Your correct, any kind of exhaust gas is toxic, because to the human body, any kind of Fossil Fuel is toxic.

  • 0:33 - Runs out of coal xD

  • god bless america

  • how can i get a car like this i want one so bad

  • Like it!

  • those motors smoke more than i do.

  • love it

  • Love the license plate!

  • that shit is soo badass

  • Many years ago I got an '81 Cutty supreme diesel in very good shape that I converted into a gasoline engine street/strip car. At the time I started the project I didn't realize that being a diesel meant no catalytic converter. Later when the exhaust system was installed no CC's were added. Not sure if it was legal without them, but I could argue that the exhaust system, was in essence, the same as from the factory.

  • nice sound for a diesel, and nice looking too

  • Sick!!!!!!

  • okay this is taking the whole why not theory too far, how much would it cost to get a GNX shipped to the uk? plus cost of said GNX

  • @vinnie01 i'll give you a hint.

    ALOT.

  • @2004HEMIkid50 Obviously you read as good as you write cause I really don't know what "WORNG" is....

  • @2004HEMIkid50 But thats beauity of it. Its not a true GN he says its a Olds, probably a cutlass, converted to LOOK like one . From this rear picture all I can see was a can of sryay paint used to black out the tail light chrome and around the rear glass and bumper. I own a 1987 GN and a 1984 T-Type. so I can feel your pain.

  • thats fuckin sick

  • @2004HEMIkid50 A GNX is not a Grand National. It is a package that was offered in 87-89 I believe. The discription even says it's an olds that has been converted to LOOK like a Grand National. Not trying to be a dick here, but too many people will post WITHOUT reading the discription.

  • @countthunder GNXs were Grand Nats modified and tuned by ASE McLaren. So, yes, they ARE Grand Nationals.

  • If it was a real GN, I probably wouldn't like it as much, but seeing as how it's a clone.... I FUCKING LOVE IT!!!!

  • That sounds bad ass

  • Black with black smoke! Sweetness! to bad it was a GNX or atleast GNX clone at that.

  • oufff! :)

  • now there is a bunch of ppl after my heart!!!!!!!!! love the car !! exelent job! hope to some day do the same

  • @2004HEMIkid50 READ DESCRIPTION PAL!!!!

  • this was a daily driver car anbuilt around CA smog rules tha is why an olds cutlass diesel vin chassis was used so an equivalent 'newer' diesel driveline could be swapped, smog ref approved and inspected/pass visual/tailpipe for CA. owner is in CA. All quarter panels, doors, trim from buick were grafted on. BIG project not for show only. it has CA tags on it

  • @05EVORS Great piece of info. thanks!

  • @05EVORS How did they manage to that. From all the info I can find, CA smog rules state that the new engine has to be from the same weight class, I,e; from a vehicle that is under 7700 lbs GVW for cars and 1/2 ton trucks. The duramax was only available in the 3/4 ton trucks on up. I would love to duramax my Suburban, but it is 1/2 ton, and my only options are the 6.2 or 6.5TD.

  • @jameslleary Does California really suck that bad? they have rules on what engine can be in what vehicle?

  • @15Woodsmen They do! they always do a visual inspection, when all that really matters is tail pipe emissions.

Even if the Duramax is cleaner, they will not allow it. Its all politics, and laws made by people who have never turned a wrench in their lives.

  • Fuckin sick

  • 0:25 filthyyyy!!!!!

  • Nasty Car

  • @Marvin. Sweet economical fast daily driver. Vin Diesel would love it !

  • What's the quarter mile?

  • @waynerzman Mid 12's with street radials and with daily driver setup since this car is a daily commuter running an average of 29mpg city - 36 highway. To me that's pretty respectable.....

  • @MarvinSanti The fuel mileage is very impressive. If I remember, those grand nationals got around 20 or 22 on the highway

  • @MarvinSanti mid 12's on a 1/4 mile? thats fairly slow to be a diesel, thats fairly slow period.

  • @xJacob711x Consider that this car is averaging 29mpgs so my guess is that it is set up for daily driving and not drag racing.

  • @xJacob711x fairly slow to be a diesel? you are a moron.

  • This is a Sin

  • @bukzini chill out, it's not a real GN it was an Oldmobile Cutlass turned into this beast of a car so be happy about it.

  • @MarvinSanti

    Cool... Now its Appealing

  • Jesus, Mary and Joseph thats awesome.

  • why waste a heavy duty pulling motor...that car probably hardly sees more than 6 to 700 pounds max....that diesel is made for serious hauling...not dragging and driving through town all day...bet fuel mileage increased dramatically...have to make any transmission mods.

  • @montanachevy Well, the car is not a daily driver, it's more of a showoff car and I believe that the whole point in this experiment is not economy but to show that it could be done.

  • @MarvinSanti it should be about mpg cuz that thing prolly is mid 2 high 20's on mpg

  • @montanachevy I dont see the problem, especially since 70% of people who buy diesel trucks now a days only want to slap big tires, lifts, tacky stacks, and see how much smoke they can make. Im with you that diesels should be for working, but most diesel trucks these days are only used to show off and commute. I personally love seeing projects like this. Almost makes me want to take on one myself. Plus , Im sure this car hauls ass or easily has the potential to.

  • How about a video of under the hood showing a cold start up???

  • Absolutley Brilliant idea. You hear of people converting old trucks and Burbs to Cummings, or Duramax, but first time I ever I seen someone consider it to a car. That's bad ass !!!

But I see we have some lame haters. Probably the idiots running giggly juice to a ricer and blowing burnt oil out the exhaust instead of diesel fuel. Now that is a stupid idea and nowhere near original. So go play in your sand and rice box, and get off the real videos if you can't be intrigued with an open mind.

  • @utoobdude67 Couldn't have said it better my self.

  • yea, lame.

  • Oh My God thats sick

  • Nice... I`m guessing this guy doesn't live in Cali or any where with emission testing lol

  • i was hoping someone didnt actually put a duramax diesel into a REAL grand national

  • man i wish i had a grand national!

  • Sweet.

  • Should've done it to a plain regal, the Turbo V6 is the only engine that belongs in a Grand National!

  • @lxcivic2k1 Well the car was actually an Oldsmobile turned into this!! so stay calm 'cause no real GN's or even better NO GNX's where harmed here...

  • @MarvinSanti wer did you get the motor frm cause i have an oldsmobile delta 88 and i want to convert it in to diesel

  • @Texa5Swanga More info at w w w . 1 8 t o 1 . c o m (please copy and paste the address to your browser and the remove all the spaces. That's the car's official website. Thanks!!

  • @lxcivic2k1 yeah you could literaly say that doesn't belong in there

  • very very badass

  • get rid of the diesel put a big v8 in it

  • @Bartman1764 technically the diesel IS a big v8

  • That is one sick ride. I love the sound and the smoke.

  • that sounds nothing like a diesel i love it!!!

  • Fuck diesels. they sound like SHIT!

  • @Baseballstud5964 If you hate diesels, then why watch a video with diesel in the title?

  • WOW!!!! I want it!!!

  • i love that diesel knocking

  • Awsome!!!!

my buddy has been working on a project National for years ...

  • Damn this is freakin badass my boi just bought and 86 Regak for 700 bucks looks like this will be the next project

  • @lpkev Please post a vid when you're done with the project... ;-]

  • dear marvinsanti: this car, this sound, the diesel smoke from the exhast that´s awesome.

can you release some technical details about that car ? how horsepowers respectavely how much torque ?

  • @hayastan5 The LB7 Duramax diesel is a direct-injected, turbocharged, intercooled, four-valve-per-cylinder V-8 that produces 300 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque. Starting from a blank sheet of paper, the 6.6L Duramax is recognized to date as the fastest diesel development program in the world. For more info go to w w w . dieselpowermag . c o m.

  • im always very scetchy about these cars that are supposed to be diesels like the corvette one doing a brunout it is just the audio clip added to the video but i can tell this one is real nice car

  • I agree, at first I was too but I entered the car's website and saw the project pictures and confirmed that there is in fact a 6.6 litre duramax stuffed in there...

  • I bet that was one hell of a fit, a 6.6 litre duramax into that beast

  • ya its a clone, like most out there

  • tht car would be worth alot more if it was original.

  • Way lot more, in fact you might be surprised to know that this cas is not even a Buick, it was originally an Olsmobile Cutlass Supreme turned into this!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Unfortunately this aint my car, just posted the vid cause I like it however It's interesting the way you think, I believe that stuffing a 454 v8 in there would make this just another muscle car in the bunch... Just my thoughts you know...peace...

  • The car's official site is:

    w w w . 18to1 . c o m

  • where can i see more info about this car? that thing is bitchin fugging wicked.

  • geez,.. you blend the lines a little and all the purists start squawking lol. really cool car i'd build one if i had the funds

  • wow...lolthats just wrong but its cool

  • shit it can go. i just hate all that black smoke it makes it's a diesel what can you do. :/

  • That is a bad car, I'm not a diesel fan, but that's cool!

  • oh i feel better knowing he didnt ruin a real turbo buick. do whatever the hell u want to do to the olds man

  • Oh yeah! It would be a crime to do something like this to a real GN or even worse a real GNX...

  • Nice! I love the license plate 18:1!

  • ....why didnt you just build a LC2 for it? well at least it isnt a real Grand National.

  • thats sweet

  • what does it run

  • Holy Shit! o.O
