  • hate hate hate pub onn youtube !

  • Crack The Sky was awesome! I remember them well.

  • I love this song! :-)

  • I've enjoyed reading the military memories coupled up with this album... but my memories of it all are quite different from those in that they mostly stem from floating stoned in the family pool all summer and road tripping around the western USA... things that I woud likely not have been able to enjoy without a free country to live in.. and for that, I THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE to our nation!!

  • Bad ass KlassiK!

  • Awesommmeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Capts babeCup! 8 ovechkin!

  • my O doing a breakaway and winning the Stanley Cup! Go Washington Capitals!

  • If you have this album in your collection ....YOU GET XTRA CREDIT!

Please reissue this album so a NEW generation can enjoy what the old generation threw away!

  • Saw them early 80's, opened for Bryan Adam's at Riverbend, great time, sorry I got so fucked up!

  • This album holdes a special place for me.

  • Saw them here in Cranbrook,BC a couple of years ago in a theater. Original lineup! Great show!

One of the greatest unsung (so far) bands of all time.

  • Personally, I never cared whether they were from Canada, or f#$% Antarctica. I just liked the music.

  • 1983 was the best time...

  • You mean Eddie Cochrane, don't you?

  • @dirtyratmiller

No. The last tour John Mellencamp had Tom was part of the show. He didnt play too much from neruda or breaking curfew but he did play some of the gems of those 2 albums.

  • Amazing music that has never realised it's full potential because in Canada the record companies wait for you to get famous in other countries so they can take credit for your success. Too bad record companies in Canada are small time bullshit. A Great Band like Red Rider should have been playing for thousands.

  • @diamonddust22

Tom has played with plenty of very famous artists. I was priviledged to see him with john cougar mellencamp 2 years ago. Only now that his voice is going to i truely appreciate the music he made in my childhood. Listning to breaking curfew casset in my dads f150 up in the alpine loggin roads in bc was THE best thing a young boy could ask for. Not many kids got to be with their dad as much as i did. Not like he was making much money anyways

  • cletortain that is so beautiful man, so glad you had such an amazing experience. The way you describe it is so picturesque and great. I would have loved to have been there brother. Take Care.

  • @diamonddust22 You are toatally right! SAGA is a perfect example of that by making it big in Europe. I am a musician as well and there is alot of talent in this country. Sad really, especially Red Rider. Glad I got to see them perform. Always loved Tom Cochrane.

  • @fierospeedgirl Nice to know there are other people out there that are not afraid to speak the truth about how Canada has demoted art to a world of nothingness. Yes I remember, Saga made it big and had to leave Canada to become big. I plan on doing the same thing. Keep up your songwriting. Take Care.

  • @diamonddust22 .......Of course ANYONE has to leave Canada to have any type/kind of success, If you were able to sell to everyone of its citizens, you max out at 30 million, less peole than some states, no?

Thats why they all must leave, you go where there are people to/that can buy your music/films/tv shows, then they come round back to Canada with some monies in their pockets, because there is never going to be enough Canadians to make you rich.

  • @KAISERKRAUT WRONG, you leave Canada because Canada demotes art to nothingness. Canada cares about Bullshit with regards to music. Take a look a Much Music, it is pure garbage, all of it. Much Music is about teen gossip and crap. Not talking about being rich either. I am talking about being respected as an artist. Bottom line is, you have to leave Canada to be respected as an artist, and to be able to make a living. Try it in Canada and you'll starve to death.

  • @diamonddust22 Once again I'm going to agree. Am I wrong in believing that an artist in Canada shouldn't have to leave his or her own country to be RESPECTED or even ADMIRED? I mean, being rich doesn't hurt, and if one has to leave for ANY musical reason,so be it,but this country in my opinion, does NOT support the arts. To be given NO choice BUT to leave,is not right.

  • @diamonddust22 I have been in the business a long time, and I'm currently in 2 bands. This business like many, revolves around WHO you know,no matter how good you may be. And I agree with you regarding Much Music. I'm into classic rock anyhow,so it's not for me. I do it for the love of it, because you WILL starve here. Rock On!!!!!!!

  • @fierospeedgirl Brother its so great to hear from another cool and very talented person on here. I wish you well man, and us rockers need to support each other and never give in to these plastic karaoke puppets.

  • @diamonddust22 I agree but they should have been playing for millions its just genius simply amazing production.

  • Hyvää biisi

    Tom Cochrane aari hämmästyttävä.

  • I saw thier concert in prince george in 86,crappy venue but an awesome concert, takes me back to my best ex girlfriend and a simpler time.thanks

  • Kunsan Air Force Base Korea 1982-83...patrolling the base with Brutus 119lbs of German shepard...with Neruda playing on my little cassette record...best year of my life that i remember 6 months of...good times they were

  • @alphacoyote77 RAF Mildenhall. Though I was already a fan of Red Rider, when Neruda came out I was blown away. Truly a masterpiece! Sadly, RR is one of the few great bands I never got to see live.

  • @hunkahillbilly I spent two years at RAF Lankenheath, K-9 79-81. when were you at Mildenhall?

  • @alphacoyote77 '81-84, 513 AMS. I miss Ely and Cambridge. Lived in Newmarket for 2 years.

  • @alphacoyote77 Thanks for your service!

  • @alphacoyote77 Camp Hovey 82-83 2nd div army...loved this album..and the 10 dollar shortimes.:)

  • Neruda was such a perfect storm of awesomeness...Ken Greer's guitar genius and Tom Cochrane's lyrics...nothing they did before or since has been as good. That and it was named after/inspired by an awesome poet.

  • Awesome album. Damn good music. Where the hell can I get this album?

  • Yes, its hard to believe Tom Cochrane is 55 now. I believe he now lives in a suburb of Toronto called Oakville, Ontario in Canada.

  • "Crack the sky and get lost in space again"-oh yeah!!

  • this hole album is awsome! its some of the best freeway music ive ever heard. all of the songs flow right together

  • ANTHEM!

  • There also was a video for this song, I remember seeing it in high school, but have never been able to find it.

  • Wow, all I've ever heard from Red Rider was "Lunatic Fringe"

I decided to look for more of their tunes, figured they were a one

hit wonder with only one very good song, well, I was wrong! :D

    They kick ass!

  • man does this take me back to the early 80's. had this album on cassette and played it all the time. heavy sigh.......

  • why it is so damned hard to get this album anywhere? one of the best albums ever made, red rider's neruda.

  • I know what you mean. I,ve been to all the music stores where I live and you can,t even order the album CD.

  • there a Canadian Band so you might have trouble finding them in the States. But just download there music rip a cd
