That's a brilliant video! I have been wanting to check out my house's thermal insulation - and have wondered whether there are gaps in the cavity wall insulation. Obviously an expensive infra red camera would identify hot spots (leaks) from the outside but this gadget looks really useful!

They pick up close range room temperature as they only have air contact nothing else.
Put them on your window and see how well they are insulating!
This is a surface thermometer not a thermal camera for god sake.
