the dark suit is the worst powerup you can ever score during this game. You STILL take damage for ather's atmosphere even though it's over a long period of time. And it's not cool looking. It's all creepy. The light suit is the BEST item you can score.
I thought it made the game much easier. To me, the worst power up is the Seeker Missile. I never use it. Also, the muted colors of the Dark Suit is meant to absorb the most darkness in order to nullify SOME not ALL of the toxic atmosphere's effect. The vents on it's shoulders are meant to absorb the air and purify it, but some of the antimatter-like air still gets through. It's obvious it was a half-assed effort by the Luminoth...
I think the Dark suit is meant to give you a chance. It also gives you the same defensive power of the Gravity suit. Have you tried doing a run of this game without the Dark suit, it is nealy impossible. I like Prime 2 alot but the thing I did'nt like about it was the fact you had limited ammo with the other Beams, I mean why?.

I know for a fact, when you have no ammunition(ammo) you can fire 1 regular beam by charging that beam(thank you experience ^_^), my brother thinks that you can't shoot when that happens.

if u shoot the crystals and the beacons with the light beam u can power them up
and any ing that touches the field will get vaporized instantly. its fun to watch

I actually share a disk of MP2 with my brother...
I have 2nd save slot, he has the last beam... I'm still learning the controls, he runs around like a maniac looking for a fight.
