For obvious reasons, they don't want to admit that they have these views due to the nasty reputation that those parties gained, and that's one of the reasons why the liberals still have so many supporters.

I think that most liberals hate religious people in general primarily for the same reasons why they hate republicans. They don't want anyone the have views other than their own.

Also, beliefs change over a lifetime, or even a short period of time. Skin color, really, doesn't change except over many generations. Skin color also doesn't say anything about a person, or very insignificant things. In the 1920s - 1960s most if not all segregationists were fundamental Christians, the transatlantic slave trade was morally and in some cases financially endorsed by fundamentalist christianity. I found this video because I typed in "why do people like Sarah Palin?" But I only see this video asking the question why do people hate Sarah Palin. Perhaps you could make a video listing the specific reasons why people LIKE Sarah Palin. I hear the word "values" used a lot, but exactly what values? Are they values that only some humans support? Can they be named? I really need a specific list, not just a general feeling about her, even though that is often enough to get votes. Thank you.
She makes up good lies, like death panels and cheats on campaign finance laws her running mate helped enact. Maybe that is why they like her so much. More likely she is every stupid rednecks' fantasy hunting partner. yet I heard she hasn't hunted in years.
I just viewed an old video of people going to the polls to vote for Palin and when asked why, one woman called out "Pro life and traditional marriage." That is the most honest answer I have heard.
It is not necessarily the person(you) it is about the theology. If someone were to follow Liberal theology to its fullest extent, they would find that it inherently is Anti-Christian. Make sense?

@Kiru26 Correct. That may very well be true. However, I would have to say there is no good reason for God to not want a Christian, or any person to defend themselves from an attacker, man or animal. In my experiences, God seems to support common sense. Ecclesiastes 3 mentions that there is a time for "Killing and healing", "War and peace". Jesus even tells his disciples to buy swords at one point in the New Testament. It is a thin line to walk, but there are cases when fighting is necessary.
@ExpendableGuy It is true that in the old testament, the god of the Hebrews ordered Israel to go to war, saying he would protect them. Either the message is mixed, or perhaps Jesus was only making a reference to fights between individuals. At any rate, fanatical protesters against war are very wrong in relation to the biblical stance. However, I still would imagine Jesus didn't like a person to fight back. He never did. I don't recall the swords being for any particular purpose. Enlighten me?
@Kiru26 I will paraphrase the passage in Luke to my understanding. Jesus asks his disciples if when he sent them out without money etc., they were lacking anything. They responded by saying, nothing. He goes on to say, that they should now take money etc., and go a buy a sword, even if it means selling their cloaks. He mentions that he must fulfill the prophecies, etc. His disciples have two swords among them, and he says It is enough. Thoughts?
@ExpendableGuy I know that one of the slices one of the people who came to get Jesus, but then Jesus chastises him and heals the wounded man. I never really understood what the purpose was for them to have swords at all.
I never really liked that there was this constant "to fulfill prophecy" thing. Even when I was a child I always considered that evidence of self-fulfilling prophecy. When I was a believer it really bugged me.
@Kiru26 Yes, Peter cut off the ear of a servant of one of the high priests. Jesus told him to put away his sword, and healed the wounded man’s ear. Weather Jesus told Peter to put away his sword because he knew he could not win the fight, because he knew that he had to go to the cross anyways, simply because he didn't want anyone to get hurt, or a mixture of all 3 is open to question. @Kiru26 Ecclesiastes was written by King Solomon and was not about God and the Israelites. Almost the whole book is King Solomon testing or observing the world around him. The main thing to remember is God gave Solomon Supernatural Wisdom. He was the wisest man on earth back then, so he should know what he is talking about when he says that there is a time for everything under the sun, including war. The Old Testament, as said in the New Testament, can be used for learning.
@ExpendableGuy Now as you probably realize, myself not being a believer I am not so easily convinced that Solomon was all that wise. When I consider the wisest in history I would have to go with Lao Tsu, who even Confucius proclaimed to be the wisest man on Earth. However, I do recall enjoying Ecclesiastes when I was a believer, and must admit that the words in it are insightful. It was one of my favorite books. I was one of the few who read the whole bible over and over. ;)

@ExpendableGuy That was a long journey, actually. Most who find their way to Atheism go through a long process because the fear holds them back. After all, hell sounds pretty terrifying, and strong faith in something dies hard. For me it began when I grew tired of the lack of evidence, combined with the things this god did in the bible that I could not condone at all. I always had an open mind, and hearing the church people say that such a thing was bad never settled well with me.

Also, beliefs change over a lifetime, or even a short period of time. Skin color, really, doesn't change except over many generations. Skin color also doesn't say anything about a person, or very insignificant things. But beliefs are choices we make, and some people, like fundamentalist christians, by definition believe things that I believe, as a generally good guy, are terrible. It may be like picking on somebody slow on the uptake (education/religion correlation- check it out), but it's fact.

In the 1920s - 1960s most if not all segregationists were fundamental Christians, the transatlantic slave trade was morally and in some cases financially endorsed by fundamentalist christianity. @Kiru26 Correct. That may very well be true. However, I would have to say there is no good reason for God to not want a Christian, or any person to defend themselves from an attacker, man or animal. In my experiences, God seems to support common sense. Ecclesiastes 3 mentions that there is a time for "Killing and healing", "War and peace". Jesus even tells his disciples to buy swords at one point in the New Testament. It is a thin line to walk, but there are cases when fighting is necessary.

@ExpendableGuy It is true that in the old testament, the god of the Hebrews ordered Israel to go to war, saying he would protect them. Either the message is mixed, or perhaps Jesus was only making a reference to fights between individuals. At any rate, fanatical protesters against war are very wrong in relation to the biblical stance. However, I still would imagine Jesus didn't like a person to fight back. He never did. I don't recall the swords being for any particular purpose. Enlighten me?

He goes on to say, that they should now take money etc., and go a buy a sword, even if it means selling their cloaks. He mentions that he must fulfill the prophecies, etc. His disciples have two swords among them, and he says It is enough. Thoughts?

I never really liked that there was this constant "to fulfill prophecy" thing. Even when I was a child I always considered that evidence of self-fulfilling prophecy. When I was a believer it really bugged me.

Weather Jesus told Peter to put away his sword because he knew he could not win the fight, because he knew that he had to go to the cross anyways, simply because he didn't want anyone to get hurt, or a mixture of all 3 is open to question. @Kiru26 Ecclesiastes was written by King Solomon and was not about God and the Israelites. Almost the whole book is King Solomon testing or observing the world around him. The main thing to remember is God gave Solomon Supernatural Wisdom. He was the wisest man on earth back then, so he should know what he is talking about when he says that there is a time for everything under the sun, including war. The Old Testament, as said in the New Testament, can be used for learning.

When I consider the wisest in history I would have to go with Lao Tsu, who even Confucius proclaimed to be the wisest man on Earth. However, I do recall enjoying Ecclesiastes when I was a believer, and must admit that the words in it are insightful. It was one of my favorite books. @ExpendableGuy That was a long journey, actually. Most who find their way to Atheism go through a long process because the fear holds them back. After all, hell sounds pretty terrifying, and strong faith in something dies hard. For me it began when I grew tired of the lack of evidence, combined with the things this god did in the bible that I could not condone at all. I always had an open mind, and hearing the church people say that such a thing was bad never settled well with me.

A long time ago I learned to never criticize a person for where they live or where they come from. Ditto goes for what people believe ... as long as those beliefs don't deliberately harm others. Which, by the way, is why I DEEPLY object to the Religion of Radical Leftism because it harms so many.

Continuing on this comment, I think you were responding to a point I made about Conservative policies being sometimes rooted in Christian theology, etc.
Of course not everything, I dont agree with everything that the right wing believes. I answered most of your concerns in the previous comment, but I have to ask, what in the hell makes you think that "Starting wars" is a Right Wing policy???? And "Loving guns"? A hunter takes pride in his rifle that keeps him fed, and that is a bad thing?

Guns are cool, & wars are necessary SOMETIMES. But when you start wrapping that up in some crackpot end times evangelical nonsense, I shake my head. We had Obama & his black power nonsense of Wright on 1 side, then Palin's simple minded end times, witch hunting crackpotism. The right got a lot of mileage off of the TUCC. So when a phony butt kissers like Prager try to PC opposition Palin into a religious bigotry issue, I want to puke.

I met Sarah yesterday in Cincinnati Book signing.....what a totally awesome and sincere lady. She was VERY much loved and admired.....its because she loves America and her people....and she wants the BEST for BOTH of them....

Obama is the worst president ever, even worse than the Catholic idolator. He is an atheist, a Muslim, and a Satanist. Not to mention, there are rumors on the Drudge Report that he may be the head of a Wiccan coven. This moron is an evil genius, the spawn of two gay men. He must be stopped before he kills us all, with guns if necessary. Not that I advocate violence. I just feel we need to overturn the election and put Palin, the rightful president, in charge, so we can kill all liberals.

Dacadvid, to start off, you can't be an atheist, muslim, and satanist. It sounds like you're just spewing out names of things that you think you're supposed to "dislike." How can two gay men spawn? Let's kill people, but oh no, I don't advocate violence. The fact that Palin is a christian would turn and should turn most votes away from her. You should read the bible, not that you would take anything out of it, but maybe if you can you'll see what an evil piece of literature it is.

Sarah Palin is a GOOD Christian woman service the Christian party of the republicans. Sadly the athiest liberals and their vial behavior (such as Bill, I'll have sex with anyone Clinton). It was hard to see the great George W. Bush leave it to a recession loving, big government, liberal athiest freak show like him but soon Sarah and God will once again live in the white house.

Here's why some people get irritated with Christian politicians and those who support them:
"Freedom of religion" means entirely different things to different people. To Christians, it means the "freedom to practice my religion as I see fit, including trying to convert YOU and YOUR kids." They're CULTISTS.
To others, "freedom of religion" means the freedom to CHOOSE your religion. To preserve that freedom, it's best to regard religion as personal, private, & keep it out of the public forum.

You're highly exaggerating the way the vast majority of Christians practice their religion.
And at the same time, you're ignoring the "religion" of sorts practiced by secular humanists. Whether it be the Cult of Global Warming, the Cult of Obamanation, or several other current "IN" things, I'm guessing you're totally fine with those and would never think to step out of line lest you get ostracized from the herd.

I couldn't have said it better myself. The Leftist's view of itself as a intellectual, non-biased atheist is wrong. The act of removing the 10 commandments from the court was just as religiously motivated, if not more so, than the erection of them. Great comment on the Secular Humanism, I comment on that regularly and hopefully more people will look into it and see that it absolutely does have a doctrine and is an established religion. Keep up the good work.
