Lash Larue was welcome in the rhythm and blues clubs of New Orleans as a crack blues player. NO great drummer Eaarl Palmer said: "Lots of white people wanted to come to the Dew Drop. Most were turned away, but they let a few in. Every time the cowboy actor Lash LaRue came in town, he came by. He played a hell of a guitar and was a regular guy that people liked."
Although it is never brought up in this interview, Lash and Sunset both went on numerous personal appearance tours to state fairs and movie theaters during and after their careers. Lash had his whip act and Sunset did sharpshooting. It was these appearances which helped to keep their popularity.
Will never forget Saturday movies and Lash LaRue!
