A MacBook Air 11" would replace all of this gear, and offer a nice keyboard, screen, approx. the same battery life and smaller size and weight compared to all this stuff... No?

@borgei well that is a valid point. However, I like the touch screen for several purposes, I don't always want to deal with the keyboard being in the way. And it's half the price, which is a plus. I have a macbook and use my ipad for completely different things. But for some I am sure the macbook air would work out better for their needs. Thanks for watching!

@borgei sure but you could also save a lot of money and just buy a keyboard for the ipad, also the ipad is a tablet so its not as complexed as the air but if your like me and only need it to web surf and like the apps the ipad is much cheaper and easier to navigate

@Montana3ni You can download the iWork apps like Pages, Numbers and Keynote which are the Apple versions of Microsoft Office. Pages can save word documents in the .doc file format too.
