For all you guys, it's not possible to connect to a server running on 3G, unless you can portforward your operator/carrier. (and I think they don't want to do that ;P )
@OneDeucesOne Pretty sure it will NOT work and it has to do with your cell phone making several "hops" within your carrier's network before it's exposed to the actual internet. Within a wifi network, everyone connected has direct access to each other, like next door neighbors.
Would this work on my Tmobile G2? And can you run it off your 3g connection for others to join? Looks decent not really any lag. I WANNA DO IT BUT IS IT WORTHIT?
Impressive. What Android device did you run the server on? Nexus One?

@WHATZITOOYAmon Type "ls minecraft" and you will see the files in that directory then try "nano minecraft/server.properties" and edit the properties

well i can get d/l speeds of 300 kbs i thought it was decent.
I guess what i mean, is it possible for the phone to utilize the 3/4g or is it strictly wifi or the computers net
