  • I can remember all kirk's solos right now but maybe this is the only one that doesn't have wah wah...

  • awesome solo of kirk jamet this god the guitar

  • this is epic but there is one thing to make extemely epic for me. ITS FOR YOUTUBE TO STOP FREEZING ON THE EPIC SONGS I PLAY! but yeah very epic though

  • Can kirk not play solos the way were written anymore? wtf

  • @TheShepster80 that would get so damn boring, its way more fun to change it up every now and then. ever listen to iron maiden? their guitarists rarely play solos the same as the studio recording. its a good thing.

  • @BonoSlayer1 I hear you! but kirks original "studio"solos are usually way better! like fade to black he changes it live..when the solo on the record is a classic! i don't know if you like led zep but it would criminal if page had changed the solos in stairway to heaven! or if slash changed the november rain solo live.

  • @TheShepster80 after playing this solo for 30 years I would change too ;)

  • @GerMaggot555 You talking about the god that failed solo?

  • @TheShepster80 I was talking about the fade to black solo

  • @GerMaggot555 Its one of the best solos though.

  • @TheShepster80 i totally agree on that, but this one I think was actually pretty good and originally played. ...To live is to die' at the 30th ann. at The Fillmore was beautiful until Kirk ruined it by playing the main solo! Those solos in that particular song does 80% of the song.

  • @jotunboy81 Alot of the solo in this one if different..The to live is to die 1 at the fillmore i think was the 1st time they played it live! so there's gonna be a few blemishes here and there! i hope they start putting it in their setlists though. more practice should iron out a the flaws.

  • @TheShepster80 they like to change stuff when they play live. they never play a song exactly the same as to how it was written live

  • GOD = CAVE (SOMALI), GOD THAT FAILED = CRYSTAL CAVE IN SOUL, SOMALIA

  • the arguments below are exactly why i barely ever look up live Metallica videos anymore. Annoying shit.

  • 0.59 " And this is the goddamn fail" :DD

  • James, as long as I breath, you will still be my number one masterpiece! \m/

  • By far the best song on the black album.

  • people forget that metallica had to change their tunings because of james messing his voice up..so of course its not gonna be as heavy as before but it still sounds great here

  • 1:30 palił to tanie wino

  • Die Rob Trujillo is you a s...................

  • They just don't sound right anymore

  • i was there :) awsome night cant wait to see them agian come back to australia :)

  • Black Album. Best album EVER! And ai MEAN IT!

  • i miss jason

  • @pariskotsaros Me too. Rob is good bassplayer but this is not the same. Jason's backing vocal and headbanging were priceless

  • @mlody969 Sure, but with Rob they can play Orion,Call of Kthulu and other song like never before. We is such an awesome bassist

  • @UberrMousee do you really think that Jason can't play Orion or other songs? if this was true Jason would never have been a member. in 86 whey Jason came to the audition he can play all metallica songs. and producer Flemming Rasmussen says that Jason was better than cliff in technicial skills

  • @mlody969 I dont care anymore about Jason. It past. Some fans of Metallica are same like fans of Nightwish. Its 11 year (?) when they fired Jason so get over it. Cliff, Jason and Rob are awesome bass players.

  • @UberrMousee they didn't fired Jason

  • @mlody969 ok he leaves. i dont care

  • @VixoThrasher except lulu ...

  • @Gamenamer lulu it´s not an album of Metallica, it´s from Lou Reed and Metallica works in it.

  • is he playing on the snakebyte ? love this guitar

  • Palił to, tanie wino = Pride you took, pride you feel !!!

  • 0:45... bum bum bam bum bum bam bum bum bam xD

  • Wow...totally different ending in this version...love it. But, I will always love the arpeggio ending in the origional more. This is great, though.

  • "Who is the God that failed?" Oo

    /watch?v=S1nWqEACfdg

  • Can't wait to hear this at the Download Festival 2012!

  • A niech wiedzą... PALIŁ TO TANIE WINOOO ;D

  • @Paligson91

  • @Paligson91 A nie lepiej PRZEJMUJEMY!, no nie?

  • @PewienWilk Kurwa, znowu...

  • @DethReaperMoleRat All I heard was Metallica is the God so thumbs up for you ;)

  • PALIŁ TO TANIE WINO!!!

  • Los putos amos!!!!

  • It's nice seeing Kirk play a solo without using his wah, isn't it?

  • PALIŁ TO< TANIE WINO!! \m/

  • Palił to tanie wino

  • sounds rushed and a bit gay

  • Poland , 1:29 Palił to tanie wino!!!

  • 7 people are fans of Justin Bieber.

  • This is my favorite song from that album, and it sounded cool to hear live.

  • james is getting little bit better with the vocals again xD

  • Can't wait to see this (and the rest of the black album) at Download 2012. Im soooooooooo F*****G excited.

  • James: Thats my friend Lars on the drums by the way...And mister Robert Trujillo.

Kirk: Son of a bitch didn't mention me!

    *starts playing guitar*

  • 3:16, this solo is pretty cool !!

  • they should practice this a litle more

  • @Jaymze9370

    YOU_ARE_ONE_SHIT_I_CAN_SEE_HERE.

  • METALLICA!!!!!

  • heavy ass song

  • Santo Cristo.

  • @HBKHardyCOB4eva so did your dad's condom

  • @HBKHardyCOB4eva your fat grandma that sucks black dicks failed

  • Metallica: The Gods that Win!!

  • came here from 1995 video, and gotta say that one was better :/

  • FANTASTIC

  • FUCKING... AWESOME !!!

  • This is actually beter then the original...

  • 3.16....

  • It sounds horrible tuned in D.

  • @vladvampire ....it was recorded in D......

  • @jurnag12 Really? It doesn't sounds like the album version. I think it is, at least, 1/2 tone down compared with the original.

  • @jurnag12 D# wasnt it?

  • @BonoSlayer1 Huh. I went and checked with my own guitar and yeah, D#. Well crap, I went and made meself a fool.

Then again I'd still say that the song sounds decent in D besides the solo.

  • i dont know how they ended up screwing up a great song by speeding up & making it look so sleezy, must be the effect of drugs!

    watch the original one

  • THATS MY THEME!

  • what is the name of song in the beginning ?

  • @TheLilool The end of the line

  • and I can also that that its their rebirth from 91-94 era ;)

  • Jason may be in a great bassist in his own respects but he cant play orion which is a metallica classic

  • It is in D, because Kirk uses guitar in this video only for songs in D, like Sad but true... lml

  • In fact, the original version is already tuned half a step down. I think this is played in D standard?? I'm not sure.

  • In fact, the original version is already tuned a half step down. I think this is played in D standard?? I'm not sure.

  • Definitely tuned down. Not sure if I like that style.

  • the career from metallica is good. and you know it was the choice from the band member jason why he's no more in the best band of the metal history

  • Kirk without wah! God is good (:

  • Kirk is just as good without that wah.!

He should start playing more solos witout it.. :D

  • @Looneylinens indeed

  • i like how everyone talks shit but i bet if they met metallica in real life theyd shit there pants

  • was at that concert that night, wont ever forget it. My first ever concert, and it was METALLICA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Gostei foi moral esse show

  • why the audience not singing. gay

  • @supamarkzyxe

They are, if you listen closely. But the mics are all on stage....the crowd gets drowned out.

  • @Prytherus maybe cuz your dick is so small ?

  • Live bass sounds way better then studio bass u can hear those strings slappin and thats what its all about

  • The most underated song off the Black album

  • @PEDROCLASSIC I agree with you

  • @PEDROCLASSIC the struggle within is the most underrated song from the black album

  • @Prytherus hahaha you mad ?

  • don't give a shit, enjoy music xD

  • The thing that i like the most in this masterpiece band is that they play live any song that they've written..even the covers..there is not even one track tha i've not heard live from metallica..what can i say? some play have a huge star upon their heads when they born..i can't imagine the weight these guys heads are carrying on...

  • @NachoScocco666

There are several songs that they didn't play live.

  • Smartasses- James Hetfield Made this song because he was born into a Christian Scientist family and his family never went to the doctor. His mother died from cancer for this reason. James wrote this song based on his thoughts of this.

  • I love watching lars play the drums. He's fuckin awesome

  • Lars face everytime he hit the snare...EPIC!! haha =)

    Nice song =)

  • Pretty weird version, but i like it

  • Actually this song is about the scientist education James received when he was young. This education made him suffered, that's why he wrote this song and Dyers Eve (...AJFA). IMO, one of the best song on the Black Album ! \m/

  • i was at that show and it was fucking awesome, that song was a highlight, easily in my top 10 favourite metallica songs

  • this song talks about her mother suffering from cancer who died when james was 17 .

  • @faridMacLeod 16 years old =)

  • who cares how it is tuned ? it's just a nawesome song!

  • fuck no why would they bring jason back wen rob is there

  • @mitch221345 A trillion Thumbs up to this comment as well. Rob bass sound is epic! Jason was good too, some just prefer a finger style like Cliff had. Rob has it.

  • @mitch221345 Cuz Jason is Metallica!!! You're all wrong! I like Rob, he is a great bassist, but Jason is more, Jason plays with his heart, he is a great musician, the best!

  • @TheBlueflameX I don't know, after hearing his own side projects, and Rock Star Supernova and all that shit, I think he plays from his ass. He can't write shit unless he's with Metallica, because the talented musicians in the band held him up.

  • @mitch221345 Finally someone who get it! I get sick and tired of comment about jason, cliff and dave mustain!

  • @mitch221345 Rob is a better bass player but Jason just had those amazing back up vocals. He could sing and Rob can't.

  • @LordVerdo amazing??????

  • @L0STH0RIZ0N Jason's vocals were amazingly METAL!

  • @LordVerdo No, really. I love Metallica, I really love the band. They are outstanding. But serioulsy, James didn't sound good here. Kirk's solo was fucked up. Not the best performance.

  • this is tuned to D for bass btw

  • Comment removed

  • Geez....first of all Rob is an amazing bass player. I'll just lay that BS to rest. Second...tuning down half a step to E-flat is not only more accomodating to a singers voice, but it also makes any songs that were written for E-standard heavier

  • Comment removed

  • Trujillo isn't much of a back-up vocalist . . .

  • I don't know why this miracle song wasn't played in the past, but know I just almost cry when I listen to it. I feared I wouldn't listen to it live in the future. MetallicA be blessed.

  • I am going to say something and dont hate me Rob is the reason why they play a half step down because of his finger playing where Jason played with a pick I hate when rob plays witjout a pick thats the answer to the question why its a half step down

  • @NASCAR90 fuck.. you're an idiot. like i cant fathom how retarded you are

first, the guitars are not "off key",

and second, they arnt tuned down half a step because Rob plays with his fingers, Cliff played with his fingers before Jason came along and they still played in standard. they were tuned half a step down while Jason was in the band too. in the early 90's James was recording vocals for So What? and blew his voice out, so they tune down so its easier on James' voice

    fuck you're stupid

  • @williamtrevormcneil NO KIDDING YES I KNOW MUSIC AND PEOPLE SAY IT IS A HALF STEP DOWN

  • Haha people bitch about everything, Lars' playing, Kirks playing, Robs backup vocals, James' singing, yet these videos always have majority likes, and this was Metallica's biggest tour of their career, they are bigger now then ever. It's just a small handful of non real fans, and fat losers in their moms basement who bitch. If you don't like how ANY of them play, fuck off and go watch/listen to something else. Worthless fucks.

  • @Looneylinens

its always the people who complain that sound the most, people who like things are quite and enjoying the music

  • @Looneylinens the black album tour was bigger

  • @blackmustang728 Check again, fool. About the World Magnetic tour: "The tour ended up being the most successful by Metallica, grossing roughly $217.2 million, making it the sixteenth highest-grossing concert tour of all-time."

  • @Looneylinens Fuckyea this guy mad respect !

  • @Looneylinens not to mention that there not as young as they used to be. i mean cmon they've been playing since the 80's some things in his voice and there playing styles will change. people need to accept that and understand that

  • @Looneylinens

its not their biggest tour :) the biggest Metallica's tour was between 1991 and 1994 ;)

  • @Smagal You dumb motherfucker. "The World Magnetic Tour was a 2008/2009/2010 concert tour by American heavy metal band Metallica in support of the group's ninth studio album, Death Magnetic, which was released in September 2008. The tour ended up being the most successful by Metallica, grossing roughly $217.2 million, making it the 17th highest-grossing concert tour of all-time." Big Four, Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame, come back album, World Magnetic Tour, etc, etc, they are bigger than ever.

  • @Looneylinens

dont call me like this you moron. by 'the biggest' i understand tour with the most amount of concerts not money.

  • @Smagal Lol, well from 1991 to 1994 wasn't one single tour, it was many tours. Monsters of Rock, Wherever We May Roam, Guns N' Roses/Metallica, Nowhere Else to Roam, and Shit Hits the Sheds. Can't count 5 tours as one. Not one of those tours on their own had more shows, or money, then World Magnetic. Only tour that surpasses this tour in the amount of shows is the Damaged Justice tour from 88' to 89'.

  • the gutairs are off key

  • @NASCAR90 They play a half step down on every song. I hate it.

  • @Deadmanic79 This song is about James mother. She died from Cancer, that why James don`t like to play this song.

  • fucking music! very good. excellent music

  • i love how James dosent say that Kirk was playin guitar at the beginning

  • @AJCerealz85 probably because there is no guitar at the beginning.

  • this song is excelent but... something doesn't sound good, i can't explain, i guess that is james voice but... fuck it, it's metallica, 'tallica never dies...

  • The only kind of Metallica fan worse than the "Metallica died when Cliff died" douchebags are the "Everything Rob does isn't as good as Jason" fuckholes.

  • Hetfield is a little fat, isn´t he?

  • @credinor ...and aren't u just alot fucked up... fucking douchebag! Fuck off and get some fresh air fucker!!

  • @credinor As soon as you look like a man at their age you are fat? Do you look like a dried chicken and how old are you? Come back when you've reached their age and if you're still skinny visit a hospital

  • @hotrodswe you should not be so offended by a simple comment. Bluf !

  • @credinor I'm not offended, I just think that it's stupid.

  • @hotrodswe Well, you think the same than me about your first reply (completely stupid, yes).

Oh, I almost forgot, I´m 41 years old so I can give my opinion about fat or thin men, right?. I don´t look like a dried chicken if you want to know such an important think like that. Bluff

  • JAMES ON THIS SONG NOW: Perfect!

KIRK ON THIS SONG NOW: Perfect!

LARS ON THIS SONG NOW: Perfect!

ROBERT ON THIS SONG NOW: Start picking!!

  • The god that failed bass line sounds so much better when its picked, sounds muddy with fingers.. sounds heavy as fuck the way jason played it

  • 1994 "wanna hear a fuckin heavy song?"

2010 "we're gonna play something old now"

  • I could listen to the bass line for hours....best bass ever....Jason played an extended intro at the Blossom in early 90's was bad ass.

  • I know he's only been in the band 8 years or so, so they probably haven't met yet with all the rehab time... but do you think maybe James could learn to pronounce "Trujillo" correctly sometime in the near future?

  • @terracottapie ...can u just go fuck urself!!

  • @crispyvenom i didn t say anything about cliff because like you said cliff is metallica s bassist.....but in those two i prefer jason.......
