I've seen bad track like that at Flagstaff, AZ and Peach Springs, AZ. I like the trains but I hate to be around when a disaster happens, and it will eventually.
well if the section does not want to mess with it, just make a friendly call on over to the FRA, ask to speak with the last month inspector, that should get the ball rolling
its a low traffic line so they don't care to spend as much money to fix it. They let things get pretty bad at Emporia KS, even though it gets 60-80 trains a day, before they will fix something. Out in the country west of Emporia, I seen a mixed freight go 50-60 mph on a bad section and the cars bounced and the knuckles darn near broke or came apart on a few cars. They were making a terrible banging noise. A month later someone on a train finally turned it in so they fixed it the next day.
On the Valley Sub south of Redding this spot is a 60 zone, and the hotshots will do even faster. There is this extremely rough crossing as soft as this on one side, and trains were doing 55 over it for a week before they put in a 35 slow order and haven't been fixed yet.
Sweet!! Nice New GEVO in the lead!! I'd say we're both responsiable railfans by report stuff to the yard offices, like me reporting a broken gate to the NS Charlotte Tower.
I think that district should order a HERZOG Train or something, redo the track and add new ballast to it.
Love those GEVO K5HL's. Really cool!

Though within the same week or month a car did jump the track a few miles west. Only one axle thank god.

I think I've seen 7600
BoxcarFrank 4 years ago
Yeah, that definitely needs new ties and ballast. You can see all the mud on the rails. Dang, look at that train bounce!

hey isnt 7600 BNSF's first GEVO??
SPGP60 4 years ago
No, because if it was the first one, than the GEVO behind it would be cleaner..and 7600 doesnt have a speck of dust on here

Well I think its the Ties....although new ballast will prolly help.
Treyvs 4 years ago
Yeah, new ballast and ties can help. Unless the district gets it's act together with track maintenance.
