@KodWolf I personally agree Sonic 06 is my favorite "Adventure Style 3D Sonic Game" points go to the soundtrack and the serious story. Because now it seems that SEGA is afraid of at least trying to make a decent story. Unleashed story was like a Sonic X episode, Colors was a bit lighter on story, and Generations basically had no plot at all. Just my opinion though.

This will most likely be the closest thing to Dubstep in a Sonic soundtrack [for the ones who like the music anyway :D]. I just hate that a game with so much musical range didn't have a game that could measure up with it. But I do hear that they may re-release this game. I think they were listening to the fans. Not sure it if it's confirmed yet, but all you can do is wait and see. :)

@KodWolf Sonic 06 is so underrated because Sonic the Hedgehog has the worst fanbase in Video game history. After Adventure 2 on the Dreamcast the fanbase just kept getting worse, and still is, it's reached the point where the 10 year old adventure games are getting picked on! All they do is rip these games apart and only focus on the negative, 06 and Unleashed took the hardest hits.

@KodWolf It's not underrated; that would mean it was good. The game was a mess to the point that older versions of the game actually played better. As bad as it was though it had a lot of potential to become a great game, but so much content was taken out due to it being so rushed. Super Sonic was supposed to be playable in regular levels, but because of the deadline was completely scraped.

@KodWolf Because of the loading times and sheer amount of glitches, and they went in a direction with the story that isn't really appropriate for a sonic game. The only human that should play a major role in the sonic series is Eggman.

@dragon12552 I highly doubt that would work now. People know 06 had a reputation for being awful, and it practically sank Sonic Team's budget. (Hence the release of some rather poor sonic games and crossovers so they could get the budget back for Colours and Generations). If they remade it, they'd just be wasting their time and money, nobody would buy it because of 06's reputation.

@KodWolf There were alot of problems with the game including numerous glitches, poor scriptwriting, somewhat bad gameplay mechanics, and the less said about the infamous kiss scene the better.

I will say that Sonic 06 had an awesome villain (Mephiles) and of course had one of the best soundtracks in Sonic's history. it's such a shame that it was in such a bad game (at least in the majority of the peoples view)

I actually like this game, a LOT. Is there something wrong with me? I've played all the classic sonics, and generations.. this was just a new experience for me, something different. sure, it wasn't as speedy as sonic games should be, but maybe we should just be a bit more open minded. Sure, there are some glitches, but once you get used to the gameplay, I find this game very fun.

Anyway my point is just because a game is successful it doesnt mean it cant release a bad sequel it just happens sometimes. Since name is so important to you just be happy its not called SA3.

I'd fix the bugs, shorten the levels, make the storyline less complex, fix the horrible loading times and make the controls less weird, because playing Sonic in this game is weird, I'd make the controls build up a little spinning momentum when he changes direction.
