@Uniquesquared But the jogwheels don't have a separately movable edges like the ns6 and the DDJ-t/s1 right? do you have assign pitch adjust to the jogwheel then, and switch back to scratch when you want to do scratching? or can you just use the edge for pitchadjust... thanks
@BartzConcept The tops are separate and touch sensitive. You don't have to switch them off because you can nudge the track on the sides, but you can disable the tops if you want in preferences.
Every time I bring out my S4 and start messing out with it, I fall in love with it. This thing is seriously amazing, feeling all the 10 years of quality and development NI put into it !
hey scott, Ive been watching a lot of your vids and even bought an s4 for myself and love it! Do you have any tips for a begginer like me to someday be like you and a lot of other great dj's? I love your mashups there freakin sweet! Is it all just fiddling around and having fun??
@omgitsdomie Thanks for the kind words! Don't ever limit yourself to what you want to play musically, keep an open mind, take the time to learn you music, never stop collecting music, practice, and most of all...keep it fun! You'll always play gigs if you are having a great time doing it! Cheers!
@DarrynM7 If you are doing a lot of scratching and controllerism go for the S4. The jogs are more accurate and the hot cues feel better. If you are used to CDJs go with the T1. I personally prefer the S4. I hope this helps!
@DarrynM7 keep in mind the T1 doesnt have inputs if youre planning to maybe add cdjs or vinyl decks later... the S4 is beast. though i do like the cdj layout of the T1, the features fall short.
Hey mate im considering selling my reloop digital jockey 2 ME and purchasing the s4 for an extra 200$ do you think its worth it and would i get more out of the transition to the s4 ?

Stop automatic FREEJAYING on that S4 DJ MadFlip because no-one EVER pays 20's and 30's FREEJAYs to DJ/VJ Clubs/Parties because they're only ever seen with other bro's in those "Can't-get-a-ROOT bro gangs" where EVERYONE is UGLY & WANKs themselves to sleep. Only FREEJAYs use built-in-mixer DJing decks & try to pass themselves off as genuine DJs and VJs hoping they'll get a ROOT!
The 20's and 30's FREEJAYs don't have a minimum of 2 X CDJ800's & a DJM400 thats why they'll never get a ROOT! Whooo
@poundherpussy Are you serious? You have been asking about the "Repeating-Cue and Cued-Play" functions on the Pioneer controllers for weeks now and I was happy to research that and answer your question. Now, you want to call me out? Weak. I have no desire to face-off with an insecure, miniscule buster of a DJ like yourself when I can be helping, encouraging, and inspiring any number of our friends or subscribers with their DJing decisions. I hope this helps you, but it probably won't.
You should have someone else demonstrating this because you´ve only made a mess, which is a shame because you can truly do beautiful mixes with that deck.
great....btw. .does it have a soundcard in it like t1? so how it connects with the PC or MC.......if the answer is negativ....which soundcard do you recommend? another question: how many microphones can you use at the same time by recording?
@TrancyDolphinLasGoas internal soundcard, 24/96khz. Plugs in USB and has a power supply. You can use one mic with the S4, but if you use a certain VST that converts audio to midi you can use the midi outputs.
Hey i saw a video where a Dj used the kontrol s4 as a mixer for his technics.
i have the technics sl1200 and im looking for a mixer i was gonna get the djm700 but this is tripping me out way harder. would this be a good idea to use as a mixer?
@Uniquesquared now im also going to be performing in clubs in a year and the DJM is the industry standard at clubs would i get a general idea of that mixer by having this or at least be able to use the djm?
Kool mash up here bro! Can u be honest n say which one u wud rather get as a talented dj like u ddj t1 or traktor kontrol s4. Srry iknow i ask this question in most of your vids ma badd
@fimpson just so you know, thats not beyonces song (if thats what u were thinkin) she just took the beat from the original and made a hit song, and the original was already a hit in the caribbean cus thats where it was made.
Well derrrrrrrr. I was referring to Pon De Floor, obviously, because this video was made before Beyonce bought that song....... Why would I be talking about Beyonce????
Im waiting for my one to come from overseas, wouldve already been here but the Volcanic Ash cloud has delayed it. But im really looking forward to using it and will see how it goes at gigs!
@dawsthahorse It's for sure an investment, but well worth it if you seriously want to pursue DJing. This controller and the Traktor software are pushing the envelope of what is possible in electronic music and performance. Why not start with one of the best controllers on the market? I hope this helps!
I just picked up the S4.. I'll take away the comment about the trainwreck, my headphones are messed up, so I was beatmatching like that dude earlier today.
@ppcock You should put out a lesson video for sure since you are also an S4 DJ. I will be looking forward to it! Thanks again for the advice, I'll definitely start wearing my headphones from now on.
@darkitachi50 It works great on either really. I used the S4 with a Sony VAIO running Windows Vista when I first got it and it was fine. I switched to a Mac shortly after and never looked back.
@darkitachi50 I'm not sure, but historically the Macbook Pro is the most reliable laptop because of it's processing and almost zero fail/crash rate. It's nice also to almost never have to install separate drivers every time you install software. The best PC laptops have been the HPs and the Sony VAIOs.
lol saw that the traktor scratch pro bundle was sold out at your website for some time now. wanted to go with timecode, but the s4 looks way sick and is better imo.
@dan0987654321 Look for some competitive pricing as soon as it is back in stock. We are going to put together some bundles to include the case and maybe some headphones. I'll message you when it comes back in.

@BartzConcept Sure, I do always without using sync. They're also the most accurate for scratching.
