  • Can you beatmatch with these jogwheels on the S4?

  • @BartzConcept Sure, I do always without using sync. They're also the most accurate for scratching.

  • @Uniquesquared But the jogwheels don't have a separately movable edges like the ns6 and the DDJ-t/s1 right? do you have assign pitch adjust to the jogwheel then, and switch back to scratch when you want to do scratching? or can you just use the edge for pitchadjust... thanks

  • @BartzConcept The tops are separate and touch sensitive. You don't have to switch them off because you can nudge the track on the sides, but you can disable the tops if you want in preferences.

  • Fucknuttittywanker

  • the NI Traktor Kontrol S4 is all the way the best DJ Midi Controller !!!

  • Whats the song at 0:03 Would really like to know! I cant find it!

  • @zhiffs It's a sample from "Video Killed The Radio Star" by The Buggles. Cheers!

  • @zhiffs search for "video killed the radio star"

  • very nice!!!

  • Every time I bring out my S4 and start messing out with it, I fall in love with it. This thing is seriously amazing, feeling all the 10 years of quality and development NI put into it !

  • This is so wicked!!! Nice Vid man!

  • I'm sorry to say, but this mix is a complete chaos.

The video is well done though. Nice multi-view thingies :)

  • hey scott, Ive been watching a lot of your vids and even bought an s4 for myself and love it! Do you have any tips for a begginer like me to someday be like you and a lot of other great dj's? I love your mashups there freakin sweet! Is it all just fiddling around and having fun??

  • @omgitsdomie Thanks for the kind words! Don't ever limit yourself to what you want to play musically, keep an open mind, take the time to learn you music, never stop collecting music, practice, and most of all...keep it fun! You'll always play gigs if you are having a great time doing it! Cheers!

  • @Uniquesquared That's probably the best advice I've ever heard from a fellow DJ.

  • @Flygon11 Thanks Firefly!

  • Hey Mate

I cant decide between the Kontrol S4 or the Pioneer DDJ-T1, which would you suggest.

    Thanks

  • @DarrynM7 If you are doing a lot of scratching and controllerism go for the S4. The jogs are more accurate and the hot cues feel better. If you are used to CDJs go with the T1. I personally prefer the S4. I hope this helps!

  • @DarrynM7 keep in mind the T1 doesnt have inputs if youre planning to maybe add cdjs or vinyl decks later... the S4 is beast. though i do like the cdj layout of the T1, the features fall short.

  • tracklist please!!!

  • hows the sound quality and mic sound quality on this controller?

  • @locoxguy Sound quality is studio-like with the 24/96khz internal soundcard. As for the mic, it all depends on the quality of your mic I must say.

  • Hey mate im considering selling my reloop digital jockey 2 ME and purchasing the s4 for an extra 200$ do you think its worth it and would i get more out of the transition to the s4 ?

  • @jchc3079 Absolutely worth it! The layout and advanced control are above and beyond that of the Jockey 2. Are you using Traktor with the ME?

  • @Uniquesquared yeah man Traktor pro

  • @poundherpussy Are you serious? You have been asking about the "Repeating-Cue and Cued-Play" functions on the Pioneer controllers for weeks now and I was happy to research that and answer your question. Now, you want to call me out? Weak. I have no desire to face-off with an insecure, miniscule buster of a DJ like yourself when I can be helping, encouraging, and inspiring any number of our friends or subscribers with their DJing decisions. I hope this helps you, but it probably won't.

  • @Uniquesquared well said!

  • You should have someone else demonstrating this because you´ve only made a mess, which is a shame because you can truly do beautiful mixes with that deck.

  • great....btw. .does it have a soundcard in it like t1? so how it connects with the PC or MC.......if the answer is negativ....which soundcard do you recommend? another question: how many microphones can you use at the same time by recording?

  • @TrancyDolphinLasGoas internal soundcard, 24/96khz. Plugs in USB and has a power supply. You can use one mic with the S4, but if you use a certain VST that converts audio to midi you can use the midi outputs.

  • great....btw. .does it have a soundcard in it like t1? so how it connects with the PC or MC

  • great....btw. .does it have a soundcard in it like t1? so how it connects with the PC or MC

  • overloaded

  • old pensacola in the house.....

  • skillllls

  • can the ddj t1 have sample banks?

  • Hey i saw a video where a Dj used the kontrol s4 as a mixer for his technics.

i have the technics sl1200 and im looking for a mixer i was gonna get the djm700 but this is tripping me out way harder. would this be a good idea to use as a mixer?

  • @DJGiancarloGallucci Absolutely, and you get the free upgrade to Scratch Pro when you buy an S4 in July.

  • @Uniquesquared now im also going to be performing in clubs in a year and the DJM is the industry standard at clubs would i get a general idea of that mixer by having this or at least be able to use the djm?

  • @DJGiancarloGallucci You would plug the S4 outputs into the DJM. I've done it many times, too.

  • Kool mash up here bro! Can u be honest n say which one u wud rather get as a talented dj like u ddj t1 or traktor kontrol s4. Srry iknow i ask this question in most of your vids ma badd

  • @XxFuZiioNxsHuFFLeRxX I love the S4, but you have to decide if you will use all of it's functions. If not, you might be better off with the DDJ-T1.

  • what is the song he brings in at 1:34?

  • @collineeees Pon De Floor - Major Lazer. It's a sample loop.

  • @Uniquesquared thank you!

  • @collineeees maby it was the 1st time i have heard it?

  • @collineeees

How could you not know that song???

  • @fimpson just so you know, thats not beyonces song (if thats what u were thinkin) she just took the beat from the original and made a hit song, and the original was already a hit in the caribbean cus thats where it was made.

  • @iRuss876

Well derrrrrrrr. I was referring to Pon De Floor, obviously, because this video was made before Beyonce bought that song....... Why would I be talking about Beyonce????

  • Also, Diplo isn't form the Caribbean.....

  • Comment removed

  • Im waiting for my one to come from overseas, wouldve already been here but the Volcanic Ash cloud has delayed it. But im really looking forward to using it and will see how it goes at gigs!

  • That was great! Really makes me wanna get an S4! Can you use the sample decks with all traktor software, or is that something exclusive to the S4?

  • @DJzanNAZ The new Traktor Pro 2 software comes with the S4 and you can use sample decks on the S4 or with Traktor Scratch Pro.

  • @dawsthahorse It's for sure an investment, but well worth it if you seriously want to pursue DJing. This controller and the Traktor software are pushing the envelope of what is possible in electronic music and performance. Why not start with one of the best controllers on the market? I hope this helps!

  • @Uniquesquared im a begginer and im between this one and the pioneer DDJ-T1.... which would you recomend me?????.

Sorry For My Grammar and hello from Mexico

  • @MrRockleadmylife I recommend the S4 because you can play sample decks on S4, too.

  • he sure trainwrecked that first track.. know there's a sync button right? just get the first beat right.

  • @ppcock Thank you for the advice! Do you give lessons?

  • @Uniquesquared

For Djing as long as I have.. I probably should.

I just picked up the S4.. I'll take away the comment about the trainwreck, my headphones are messed up, so I was beatmatching like that dude earlier today.

He should wear headphones to avoid trainwrecks.

    That's lesson 1

  • @ppcock You should put out a lesson video for sure since you are also an S4 DJ. I will be looking forward to it! Thanks again for the advice, I'll definitely start wearing my headphones from now on.

  • Wunderschön! :)

  • Hey, I'm a dubstep producer, and I want to start doing shows. Would this be a good choice for my first turntable? Also, what else should I invest in?

  • @DiggyTots It would be a fantastic choice. You should probably consider a dedicated laptop like a Mac to run it with.

  • @Uniquesquared Awesome! I'm gonna try and pick up this beast soon. Thanks for the timely response!

  • @Uniquesquared Does it works better than on windows?

  • @darkitachi50 It works great on either really. I used the S4 with a Sony VAIO running Windows Vista when I first got it and it was fine. I switched to a Mac shortly after and never looked back.

  • @Uniquesquared though I see a lot if not every Dj using a mac for portable PC, any reasons why?

  • @darkitachi50 I'm not sure, but historically the Macbook Pro is the most reliable laptop because of it's processing and almost zero fail/crash rate. It's nice also to almost never have to install separate drivers every time you install software. The best PC laptops have been the HPs and the Sony VAIOs.

  • dude... let it real dj s 2 do this job. please :)

  • @kor4y huh?

  • watch?v=-4pkPIFsvgo overview on traktor scratch pro 2

  • @blakie18 Well duh he better be the best at the s4... He made it for gods sake:)

  • song list please especially the samples

  • what was the fourth sample on deck d he started playing?

  • lol saw that the traktor scratch pro bundle was sold out at your website for some time now. wanted to go with timecode, but the s4 looks way sick and is better imo.

what kind of deals we lookin at with this piece?

  • @dan0987654321 Look for some competitive pricing as soon as it is back in stock. We are going to put together some bundles to include the case and maybe some headphones. I'll message you when it comes back in.

  • @Uniquesquared alright man yeah that would be awesome.

  • great work, look realy fun.

  • love the overlay on the videos :P its nice to be able to see whats happening

  • @DJMilk3y Thanks a lot! We appreciate the input.

  • Thanks for putting this video together.

  • @juliziz You're welcome, please subscribe to our channel. We have several videos coming up from Winter NAMM in Anaheim.

  • excuse me mate.... but this mix is a mess... you know what you're doing controller-wise, but I'd love to see you keep the musical parts a bit more seperated. As I said: Respect for the controlling!

  • @hansmeiser9 Thanks for the comment. Stay tuned for more demos soon!

  • YOU BADD AZZ- NOW I NEED TO GET THIS CONTROLLER

  • I'm more interested in rhe controllerism side of djing, but seeing a performance like this is truely inspirational nonetheless. this vid really shows what a pro dj can do

  • @ansiaaa666 Thanks for the comment!

  • MONSTER !

    VERY COOL MIX !

  • haha pretty sick man i like it !!!! but check out EAN GOLDEN on the Traktor Kontrol S4 ("Phenomena" DJ Routine on Traktor Kontrol S4 by Ean Golden ) true god on this controller thumbs up if you agree :)
