@Colton527 IWABO is actually more interesting than all the other chug chug hard/metal/deathcore bands. I jam a few of their songs. Not often, but like I said, they're better than the GENERIC core.
@storedmush Being that this is a cover he's outlining Gene Holgan's original drumming. Referring to Sylosis` songs, Rob plays drums that fit the music that aren't going to bore the listener or try and "over play" the other instruments. Eclipsed for example, not playing double kicks or filling every 5 seconds, but how he uses the double ride, open hi-hat and kicks to create interesting drumming. Lets see you post some drums covers that are 'better' I'm sure we can all judge you.
@storedmush 1. like storedmush said, this is a cover, so these are Gene Holgan's drums, and if you are saying they are bad... you obviously are lost as to what is good and bad drumming.
@guitarshredking Regardless, it's a cover so I don't think they wanted to be so strict and cover it note for note, can't blame them I'm sure most people have their own "ideas" that they incorporate into songs.
@1stdeadpresident They we're already here and they came to kansas city :) Shouldve come man, Me and friends were the only one there for them, everyone else couldn't tell the difference between talent and shit
Electronic drums never appeal to me. I'm sure the drummer is capable of delivering it, but this sounds fake. The other musicians' performances were awesome!
@brunostolosa Electric Drums? Has your head been up your arse whilst listening to this? The kicks/toms are lower in the mix but clearly in the chorus you can hear the full extent of his playing which I doubt would be even close if played on a electric set, another give away is the double ride and under the first solo.
It's mixed differently to their albums obviously, but still what a moronic comment.
@UKRCyanide Mate.. I think i meant Drum Machine. The drums weren't played on this track- fact. Nothing wrong with it.. Many bands do it, especially when doing covers like this one as a cost-saving exercise. My comment and opinion is that it's not my cup of tea. The cover is awesome, but I'd rather a real drummer playing it. You can use triggers on the bass drums, snare and toms.. But the homogeneous sounding cymbals give them in. I repeat it: This wasn't played, this is a drum sampler! Cheers
@M3LOD34TH Well in all fairness, covers aren't often going to be exact replicas of the original. A good band will give a song their own flair, which is what they did here.
@ElBassBlaster Agreed, and it's probably the best cover I've heard. They made it there own music. The note changes just sort of threw me off the first time I heard this. I F'in love Sylosis tho!
Great cover by one of my favorite bands (who I recently first heard), BUT - the riff at 1:46 and also played at around 5:22 is changed. Chuck hit "5 h7 p5" and not "7 h8 p7" which Sylosis does here.
Not big of a change I guess, but I'm so used to hearing the original it really bothered me. Solos are good tho.
Death gets a touch of core. I can dig it, I think. I definitely respect them for covering this song, truthfully too. The guitar chugging/tone seems a tinsy bit weak, though. The bass is also weak. But... not bad.
this sounds almost exaclty like the original but the vocals are more hardcore than melo-death. i dig it but whats the point of covering a song if you're not gonna add your own style to it??
I don't care what anybody says. This cover is great! My opinion is that this is better than the original. If anyone starts arguing with me... fuck you, I said it's my opinion!
@progmetal1456 Well, you're right. But, you know, that's pretty much the point of making a cover of a certain song... to make it sound different. Same song, different style. :)) It's nowhere near the original... screw this, I like it, because it's different than the original. :D
Ryan Knight OWNS in this, im a huge fan of both but the second solo is sooo off in this song, it just doesn't fit. Seems as ryan was able to stay true to the original sound and still make it his own. Either way, Josh and Ryan are both incredible talents
@Zbrooks95115 no...the second solo in the original sounds like it was composed of a bunch of random scales mixed in that don't really go with what the rhythm guitarist is playing. Josh's solo fits the song and sound nice.
I'm so sick of seeing this cunts like you on Youtube, this is the best cover around and will be the best cover for a very long time. "Disgusting cover, Insulting Death" I think you're the one insulting Death, how dare you have the mind set to even think that you can call this disgusting. You make me embarrassed to be a Death fan, knowing that I share the same musical taste as a degenerate fucking moron.
@ChuckSchuldinerRIP0 No they really didn't, and you're expectations are the only ones you set so therefore nothing will be good enough for you which in turn makes people think you're a cunt. And is it? again such a small minded individual, I'll save you the trouble of never being able to see this or any video's I post by blocking you, can't be arsed with fuck whits like you.
@JaccoffolotTheLonely *White people, they can't even make *their own music right. No only have you proved you're illiterate, you've stereotyped "White people" as having the best music in the world.
@UKRCyanide maybe the dad should have swallowed his own instead of making some lame comment about women being the cum eater of hetero-normative shit fest jokes.
@UKRCyanide Your just a moron I was implying that the orginial was terrrible and this is even worse death is the worse band of an even worse genre. Sorry it is a fact blacks make the worlds greatest music just look at micheal jackson, jazz in the 20s, and the world wide popularity of rap and r&b. the only reason you made metal was clearly to express the torture you have felt after centuries of listening to music such as folk and classical it must be the beatles that pushed you to this CRAP!!!!
1. No, both Death and Sylosis are both innovators in the genre of music. Death created the more well known "mainstream" genre of Death Metal and Sylosis have started a whole new genre, no plays like either band they're both unique.
2. Michael Jackson died White
3. Best Jazz/Swing musician - Frank Sinatra
4. The biggest selling genre in the world is Rock/Metal etc. (Metallica for example)
5. No it really isn't, go learn something about music, go learn about music you uneducated fuck.
@UKRCyanide as much as I hate to say this rock/metal is not the best selling genre. unfortunately, last I checked it is pop that sell best world wide. Also metal is not even mainstream. The dudes just a troll don't let him get to you just block him and ignore.
@TheRagingBerserker It is dude, studied music business in college and we had to learn about this stuff, and well "Good Metal" isn't mainstream yeah but Death is the well more known of all Death Metal Bands (except Cannibal Corpse) but then again Death's the only Death Metal band I listen to. And the biggest selling artists (Rock Wise):
Elvis Presley
Beatles
Led Zeppelin
But even still Elvis and Beatles have sold 200 million each, and they're the highest selling artists of all time.
@UKRCyanide I said is not was in regard to the current direction of music which is toward rap and pop not that it compares to the artists you mentioned.
@JaccoffolotTheLonely Nigga knows shit xD its funny how you act like you know alot, yet you speak asif this individual created metal. You clearly have no idea on music genres, im opposition to this comment, there is neo-classical metal and folk metal. 'Metal' musicians contributed to Michael jacksons success... just like beat it... Eddie Van Halen? stfu you know shit all. Don't come hating on a Video without an educated reason atleast.
@JaccoffolotTheLonely Are you gay, seriously? or did your Dad touch you as a child? You've got some seriously messed up issues, no wonder your Mum and Dad don't love you. And by the way UAV's are produced by artificial light, I don't use sunbeds or any other light besides the sun or a lamp/bedroom light.
Think you should just stay off this video, clearly sucking all that dick has made you stupid and has limited you to composing sentences/arguments of any value.
the sound of the album symbolic fits perfectly with the sound of sylosis generaly..i loved the cover as much i loved the previus albums..especially the edge of earth album is a masterpiece!!
@KFSBTYR Agreed, they just seem to get better every time I hear them, even in live recordings you can hear how much they're progressing as individuals and as a band, like the vocals in this are more like Josh's live vocals a lot more 'power - driven' adds so much to the song and overall just makes the song heavier.
I was just thinking that they sound a lot like death :D by the way, check out my new together as one cover too.
