  • Actually, much of what we know about learning (e.g, mediation, cognitive modifiability, motivation, expectations, project-based learning, meta-cognitive instruction) is CONFIRMED by the neuroscience. It speaks about the need for neuroscientists to talk to progressive educators. WE ARE actually now training teachers in ways that are consistent with what Alanna talks about!

  • Doesn't the notion of the Marshmellow test suggest we aren't all born the same?

  • I find it hard to believe that for the past hundred years we've been mired in the dark ages. How is it we've managed to go to the moon?

    I also find it hard to beleive that there's no set of connections a babies brain. I think she's just making this stuff up.

    Also, this concept that using an MRI to see the brain learn is a bit of an overstatment. I'm no neurologist, but I think we can see a brain learn the same way we can see how an electronic circuit works by seeing which components are hot.
