@MrTexasjaguar are much more intelligent than solitary ones which is +1 point for lion being smarter. In terms of agility the two species are pretty much equal. Tiger hits faster with paws but lion has much much stronger swipe. Lion has mane that protects him. Tigers always avoid conflict with other tigers and fights occur rarely.

@systemdowncity I could only find 3, and all they did was run. I can find hundreds of videos of lions running AFTER their ass is handed to them. 2 lions died from tiger attacks, no tigers died or even got hurt. I've also seen lions try and use their pride but it still usually fails.

@xXksepwnsXx i think tout of all the clips in this video only one clip was an example of a real fight in which based off of what i saw, the lion was winning. the rest of these clips were just encounters between the two cats, they all seem as though the lion was just trying to interact with the tiger, and the tiger responding aggressively, causing the lion to be confused and walk away....not necessarily a fight.

For example fight with crocodiles on land.Lions do not want to risk their lives and health unnecessarily.Another example Hyenas and Lionesses.When a group of Hyenas attack a couple of lionesses they do not fight and leave the pray.In fact they could beat Hyenas but not without any injures. Lions are sociable cats , not so Tigers. Tigers act aggresive around themselves as well as with Lions. They strike out for no reason perhaps because of nervousness around Lions. Lions don't understand such behavior therefore back-off.
No reason for Lions to fight in these situations.
