  • Blue Oyster Cult is a great band because it kind of has it's own kind of style which is rare in the music industry and it's always been my favorite band and probably will be forever. this is a perfect example of the fine works of this music powerhouse

  • The soft-skulled rock media don't like the symbol. Like BOC is saying people are hooked on Jesus. Like the band is making fun of everybody.

  • @spoildn8410 HAha! Hooked on Jesus! Clever! Clever shares its etymolgy with cleave, btw.

  • superb it really is!

  • this was a really good underated LP. TREMENDOUS SONG THIS!

  • Like Song!!!

  • brilliant! am dancing in my own ruins and thank god, keep on rocking bhuck dharma!

  • If this had come out in 1980 - huge hit. It was five years too late.

    Great song.

  • great song i never heard before

  • Who's the faggot that disliked this video?

  • @RapIsDeadly -SURELY someone missed the like button...I shudder to think that anyone would be dumb enough to dislike this masterpiece.

  • MMwahaaah the french..

  • Probably their best song, after "The Reaper" and "Astronomy".

  • BoC is ignored because their lyrics tell stories that are huge threat to the established powers of religion and government.

  • @graywolfmage -comment removed by government-

  • Alright, at SummerSun, lalamango, and everyone else in this argument. Either shut up, take this to a private chatline, or get a bloody room! We just want to enjoy the music here. No need to take every argument you can find, alright? Just grow up.

  • IM GONNA CRUCIFY WHOEVER THE HELL DISLIKED THIS

  • hey, thanks for the BOC uploads! good stuff! ROCK ON!

  • dancin' in the ruins is boc's best song, rock on all u lady gagagoogoo misfits!!

  • Someone missed the like button... Hmm... Ten bucks says its a fan of Bieber, or Gaga, or some other assorted lunacy. (say, that would be an awesome band name: Assorted Lunacy)

  • You say Justin Bieber-I say Guns n Roses

You say Miley Cyrus-I? say KISS

    You say T-Pain-I say ACDC

    You say? Flowers-I say Metallica

You say Pink-I say Alice Cooper

You say Hip Hop-i say shut the fuck up

    You say Pop-I scream ROCK!

You say Hannah Montana-i fucking punch you in the face

92% of teenagers have turned to Hip Hop and Pop.If you are part of the 8% that still listen to real music, copy and paste this message to another 5 videos.DONT LET THE SPIRIT OF ROCK DIE!!

  • @XXSUMMERSUNXX1 your a very wise person. teens no longer listen to history. they listen how to wreck a future. Classic rock is where it's at.

  • @XXSUMMERSUNXX1

hey dumbass, some people are more complicated than your simplistic self. it's called having a varied, multitudinous palate when it comes to music. and the lamest thing abt your post is the cheap ass rock groups you just named. Try chuck berry, hendrix, the who, zeppelin, the clash if you want some real rock. you must be some 15 yr old emo bitch. God bless!

  • @lalamango1 ha wtf man dude in 12 and i like rock get over it and not every ones a freakin retard like u its ok

  • @lalamango1

"lamest thing abt your post is the cheap ass rock groups you just named."

AC/DC cheap ass? Alice Cooper cheap ass? Kiss cheap ass? What a moron...

  • @lalamango1 im gonna have to agree with you there. those bands he named means he might plenty about rock, or he might be a 12 yr old rock and roll poser. Chances are, hes heard one song from ACDC G&R and KISS each. He prob thinks Beatles are hardcore. But at the same time, I get pretty fucking annoyed too when little wiggers start spouting shit about how great rap is. I even like eminem, but they say that its shit compared to Zeppelin. Then they deserve a punch in the face/hammer to the 'nads

  • @lalamango1 I really don't know what is wrong with the bands he just named... Apart from KISS, they're all great.

  • @XXSUMMERSUNXX1 copy and pasting gayass, uncreative bullshit will not keep the spirit of rock alive. Havent you ever heard "ROCK AND ROLL AIN'T NOISE POLLUTION"....? THen you know rock and roll will never die. Pick up your godamn guitar and play more music!

  • Y If you were there then you know what i was talking about i am glad i was not the only one to remember that awesome show . Thanks for the reply.

  • blue oyster cult is the most underrated band that i know that has so many amazing hits. not one of my friends know who they are, and if they do (one in a hundrd) they say "oh yeah, ive heard don't fear the reaper" "you ever heard any other songs?" "nope" thats so messed up in my eyes

  • another class track

  • I saw BOC at Magic Mountain back in the early 80s and man it was so loud with people screaming it sounded like there was 100000 at the show. It was one of the greatest concerts i have seen. Love these guys.

  • @syphen90125

I was so there...you are absolutely correct, one of the greatest shows, by any band, ever, that night.

  • I love all their covers. I remember when I was a child, I used to watch them and It made me dive into a fantasy world. Well, even today.

  • just got this on vinyl! BOC FUCKING RULES!

  • I know many fans - and even purportedly BOC themselves - don't care for this album, but I loved it. In the miasma of pop crap that came out that year, it was an island of joy for me.

  • @befuddledman

Dude - a *lot* of what we hear is the combination of the PRODUCER as well as the ARTIST. I am a firm believer in BOC and all they do = and I admit this album took a while for me to get used to, but it contains some superb tunes!!!

  • this was a rock radio mainstay that yr ...mid 80's...brings back great memories of youth lost.

  • God Al' Mighty this is one of their best songs... you think this song would come from Mirrors or The Revolution by Night. Not many bands could use the Synth the right way, them Rush, and The Cars were also great synth-wielding bands too, sure i am forgetting a few others tho

  • BOC are simply masters of their craft. Great melody Buck!

  • I played this tape until it was broken! This may be "heresy," but I *personally* prefer "Dancin' in the Ruins" to "Burnin' for You." To me, the more heavily accentuated keyboard/organ is almost an homage back to Steppenwolf's "Born to Be Wild."

  • @toucan13 You 're right!

  • So underrated.....one of the first tapes I ever owned.

  • Many of the songs from this are great- Perfect Water is absolutely beautiful, in my opinion, and Beat'em Up is as good an anthem as BOC... And I want this song played at my funeral!

  • For true BOC fans, this album is our 'dirty litlle, guilty pleasure!' Because this was the first (and only) album featuring lyrical content shopped from members outside the band, many critics and fans summarily discount it. For me, however, from the first note of 'White Flags', until the album's end, I find it an underrated gem in the BOC catalogue! BOC Forever!

  • I could *not* agree with you more! That is precisely it. It is (IMO: unfairly) summarily dismissed because of the prolific and cerebral heritage of the band (as in "Not writing ALL their own stuff?!?!") . . . yet the sound is beautiful and the material is played meticulously (as always). VERY well said, tackathustra!

  • Why does this song remind me so much of "Burnin' For You"?

  • The key is the same (A minor) - and there are other cosmetic differences - but this song has a more potent hook and a purer guitar sound. Buck was running the Vulcan through a flange on "Burnin'" and it sounds like nothing but Les Paul Deluxe here.

  • Burnin' in the Ruins or Dancin' For You?

    ;)

  • Club Ninja is so underrated

  • It's one of the most beautiful CD cover I've seen so far. Totally madness and futuristic!

  • this is real rock.

  • We were listening to BOC on the radio, and I was wondering why this and veteran of the psychic wars weren't the songs you heard all the time, so i had to come home and listen to it.

  • veteran is amazing.

  • I love every single song of this album..

BÖC rules! They are the greatest!

  • R.I.P. Greggory "Iggy" Vogel,

    SJBDHS [posthumorously], Class of 1984.

  • really cool song. but nothing beats astronomy.

  • Buck Dharma plants his signature lick on this one.

  • I have no idea why this isn't more recognized, it seriously ranks among the best BOC songs, hell, of any legendary rock and roll. Just....perfect. I really can't think of anything wrong with it, or most of Club Ninja. I guess people must be really apprehensive to change for it to have such a bad reputation.

  • right on man i agree this is one of the best BOC but its not known by alot of people ive been to several BOC concerts and they havent played this song. probably because it isnt as well known as "dont fear the reaper" or some of the other well recognized songs by BOC.

  • the melody sounds like burnin' for you

  • BOC rocks !

  • Still awesome!

  • Great song. If Journey or Foreigner had recorded this, it would still be played every day on classic rock radio. However, because its by BOC it's ignored. How stupid is that???

  • i know, this song sounds like it shouldve been in at least the top 10 when it came out, and should be played on every classic rock station. BOC is an amazing band with crazy talent. At least BOC has so many loyal fans

  • I requested this once and the station hung up on me. Some people...

  • obviously that station dosent know good classic rock

  • journey is so bad.....

  • @cuttlefisch your so right. they are so underrated. its frustrating for a guy who listens to blue oyster cult on a daily basis

  • @cuttlefisch I totally agree with that statement.

  • Boc never lets you down

  • I cant get it out of my head!:O What a great chorus!

  • It came the same on me in 1990. It stayed for weeks and I couldn't et rid of this chorus

  • One of the best songs off the Club Ninja record, IMHO.

  • Should have been HUGE

  • why wasn't this song a bigger hit?

  • Because its by BOC and not by Journey, Foreigner or Boston, that's why.

  • @foppa123 It was bad timing. This came out in the mid eighties when a lot of really bad euro/new wave/dance/shit music was hitting the airwaves. It kind of got overlooked. At least it's a big hit with us.

  • @gingermol76 hey dude I love italo disco and new wave, but I love BoC and similar bands in the same genre too. :/ AND I love this song. I came here to refer it to someone. Don't say something is shit lawl there are people out there like me. -- just saying.

  • @ieatoldmen It's an opinion and this is the internet. Grow a thicker skin. Just saying.

  • @foppa123 I recall the radio station playing this then in my High School days.

  • Comment removed

  • @thefoppa1000 memories.

  • i love this song

  • Are you kiddng me? This band had a great four (4) year stretch of quality stuff; even through the disco era and 80's music! Give me a freakin' break!!

  • I hope to see you Dancin' In Your Ruins! Because we all turn to dust, we must. This IS pure and sacred!

  • Beautiful.
