Everyone says heath ledger made the joker into a deeper character than the "clown" standard every other movie made him out to be; even in the newer comics and such joker has strong distaste for the word "clown", much like he hates the term "crazy" in Dark Knight. Still, personally, I don't feel HL did justice to the name Joker. The suit should've been more flamboyant, the laugh should've been higher pitched and more haunting, and his speech to the batman should've been crazier and lighter.

Heaths Joker look is a blatant rip off of The Crow.

I find it very sad that all these "Joker fans" like a rip off, when a TRUE joker fan would really see he didn't do a great job as him. I mean, this version's look isn't even original. It's COPIED from someone else. Whats so great about it anyway? A comic with Heaths Joker would be boring as hell.

@ColdHandOfVengeance it wasn't about the costume, it was about the character; who was nothing like the crow. But your right to some degree, this joker even with some of his twisted antics, was nothing like the original (and I mean the TRULY FIRST joker from the 1940's) But let me tell you something, if they made a movie about THAT joker, then even with people use to games and movies like Dead Space, Silent hill, or Resident Evil would shit their pants like in the first days of The Exorcist.

Oh YEAH!!! Heath's Joker is so much better than the others (except Mark Hamill's 'cause his was scary). I don't care what responses I might get to this comment but the best Joker for me is the terrifying, psychopathic one because I think he has the most presence, power and impact. That's just my opinion. I loved The Dark Knight and Heath stole every scene he was in! :-D
