For me this is the best Nosferatu version, with original german subtitles, and the real character names, count Orlok,not Dracula, Hutter, not Harker. This is why this movie is so special, it's a complete different version of Bram Stokes novel

There are actually two versions-- this appears to be the version found in French archives where she does die-- the German version was sanitized by censors. .. Ellen (Mina character in Stoker's book- did not die in the German version found hidden under another title. Murnau was forced by Stoker's widow to burn all copies, (but did not!) fortunately for film history
There is a fully digital restored clean up coming to DVD, in a new Kino Video special DVD. Check out a trailer of the restoration on Kino Video website.

I don't understand, at the end of the film, does Hutter's wife die or does she just faint?
