Just thought I'd say this: according to fact, the band willingly went down with the ship. members of the band that didn't have their instruments, stayed and danced to the music just to be with their friends for the last time. they knew there was no getting off the ship, so they decided to die doing what they loved, rather than try to save themselves.

The elderly couple in the bed is the most heartbreaking thing. Based on a true story of the owners of Macy's department store in New York; Ida and Isidor Strauss, both of whom died on the Titanic. Ida was offered a seat on a lifeboat but refused so that she could stay with her husband saying, "As we have lived together, so we shall die together."

It should have followed the stories of 8 or 9 characters equally, rather than choose the two most cliche and uninteresting ones and making the entire movie about them.
