@mojerozarka My dog use to like grapes and would eat the ones that fell from the vine.  He got sick and barfed on the lawn and wouldn't eat them after that. I since found out that grapes can cause some sort of kidney problems for canines and cats too.

My mums friend had a rough collie called Shep, she used to put a tiny piece of chocolate on his nose and he would wait then get it when told. He was fine and it never affected him, he lived until he was 16! Then her boyfriend gave her his working spaniel that didn't really seem to have the drive to be a hunting dog. He was called Scampi, she gave him one piece of chocolate on Christmas day, he had a fit and had to go to the vets where he later died. DON'T GIVE YOUR DOGS CHOCOLATE TO BE SAFE!

Garlic isn't actually all that bad for them. it takes 50 cloves of garlic for them to really get sick. Small amounts are ok because it actually boosts their immune system and keeps them healthy.

It's not that chocolate is poisonous to dogs like thallium or cyanide, it's because of a natural chemical in coca plants. I can't remember why it's bad though though, maybe it causes digestive problems? I do know that it's not life threatening when they eat small amounts and poison is misleading.

@VertigoWombat Actually, Zeke said "It's like poison to a dog." So technically he's right. It's the theobromine in chocolate that's bad. It can cause vomiting, seizures, diarrhea and increased heart rate. It can cause coma and death, especially in older dogs. If that's not poison (or like poison) I don't know what is.

I'm not trollin' either... just getting it out there, because I love dogs too. Like they said... don't feed your dog that! :)

@VertigoWombat Actually chocolate is very poisonous. You are probably right about a chemical being in the cocoa plant, but i know small peices arent good and can kill dogs. If it is just a puppy, a Hershey Kiss can kill them...
