Hey Landon, nice video, good tune. Check out my channel, I have something that may interest you if your still searching. We have quite a few people that are doing it to help pay for schooling. Take care, talk soon.
Thank you for the offer Laurie. I found a job as a telephone banker a few weeks ago, so I'm not searching anymore. It was very kind of you to ask though. Take care :)
I totally agree with ou on the job secction - you gotta have something you enjoy - you also don't want to fight with your workmates due to commission. And yes I have applied for jobs and just decided I didn't want it when they came to an interview. x cool videos btw :)
I started off by typing "Don't do..." then I realized I shouldn't tell you what to do, but rather my three-year experience with Best Buy (owner of Future Shop) - I won't go back even though as a manager I made lots of coin (but left when things got unethical in the company). As for Winners/HomeSense - that would be a damn fun spot to be in (they always have beautiful things in them) and my fiance Eddi has applied there so fill me in :)
They have the choice of about 6 or 7 positions for me. Lol!
The ones that interest me most is to be 'in charge' of the section of the store. Stocking it with new items, helping out customers, with some section flexibility (they'd have me trained to be a cashier if someone needed help or was sick for the day).
I'll no doubt get more information about it later today with the 2nd interview.
Lol! I didn't really like the truck at these fuel prices. It's also kind of a shock to go from a Geo Metro to something similar to a Lego brick and feels like it wants to tip over under every turn :P
UH, Ya! LOL. "takes me into the back room" sounds pretty fishy to me! God only knows what room she'll try to take you in during your next interview!! LOL
OMG! Now you have me a slightly frightened for tomorrow! The 2nd interview is with another female store operator... maybe they'll gang up on me *eek!*
I guess it depends on what kind of job position and pay they're talking about. He hehe ;)
If current averages are correct, you'll switch careers a half a dozen times in the next few decades, so don't get too comfy. Oh! And another thing, more education & training will be in the mix! (LOL!) Happy now! All the best to you.
Thanks for the best of wishes :) No doubt that no matter what job I get, I'll constantly be learning. It's just kinda scary that this is it: I'm out in the real world!! *eek*

After my experience there, I'm glad I'm not a letter carrier. I can't imagine delivering mail in sketchy neighbourhoods in -40* weather. Yuck.
I now work for a bank instead ;)

Thanks. All the job offers have now fell through (Winners was offering only minimum wage. Even McDonalds offers more!).
So back to square one!

I had a feeling that Future Shop would be a not-so-great place to work. I had flashbacks of watching 40-year-old-virgin!
I'll let you know how the job interview at Winners goes in about 2 hours :)
landongendur 3 years ago
Well I just came back from the interview. The Job sounds awesome and I'd love to sign up, but now they revealed that it only pays $7.90 an hour :(
Heck even McDonalds is hiring full time people starting at $9.50 an hour here. Too bad.

cant even spell....LAVA lamp!!

Lol! I'm surprised that I *pronounced* lava the American way at the end of Blog #11.
I, and most Canadians, usually say "L(ah)va" instead of "L(aw)va" ;)

Oh yeah. How did you like it? What sector did you work in specifically?

Landon, are you sure that lady didn't want to jump your bone! LOL. Sounds like she wants you quite badly! LOL. My naughty talk. Oh, boy! :J

Lol! I knew the phrase "takes me into the back room" followed by descriptions of smudged glasses and disheveled hair would allude to something ;)
