Pickering used to be good, but now its becoming a victim of its own success and to much commercialism is creeping in, for example the 2 dancing at the beginning, they never had that dance in the 40's the closest to that dance was the slosh, and at 2.16 and after, they are playing 1950's jivers, i have re-enacted since the 1980's and not just jumped on the band wagon, i am also a 50's DJ, i know many authentic reenactors who do not now attend this event, shame its going down hill
I remember the UK was in bomb shelters a lot due the German Bombers, wow am I showing my age, lol. I still remember all the news reels at the movie theaters. These uniforms bring a lot of memories. Wonderful film David.
@ATSF1927 Thanks Don, I can just remember a few things, my father in uniform, alway`s seemed to be waiting at railway stations, and even an air raid where we lived in early 1945 , yet these day`s problems remembering what I did yesterday !!
@ADMIRALSCORNER Cheers Mike , so your notifications are still not working, try subing again and tick notify when to be sent new vids ...also a small part 2 of this one , and a longer on the moors, .. which was aproblem I had with loading, should all have been 1 video , but had problems loading..
@howarth004 Its amazing the permutations there can be for problems to occcur with uploading to or accessing youtube! Something new happens almost every week down here lately!.
@howarth004 I have checked the local speeds 3.2 kbps download and 0.525kbps upload. So no change here. I guess upload is what we use to get videos to youtube. That has not changed ever here.
@howarth004 So true, so true. Please keep posting your wonderful videos I really enjoy watching them. I noticed that the Stigg was taking it easy as the car did not leave the road at the hump back bridge. (me smiles)
brillient dave, you had a glorious day for it, and love the bit about the nhs lol funny, this looked really good does it happen every year??, cheers dave
Full of humour as always Dave, and congratulations for capturing the essence of the event superbly....Did I hear an expletive at 03:23 when the Stigg drove you over the crossing?....Brilliant just brilliant....Bob
