  • This would be a lot more useful with a demonstration as you are explaining.

  • c an you translate at tagalog

  • oil pastaaaalz

  • WAX

  • Of ALL mediums, oil pastels intimidate me the most.... Someone gave me some that feel like cheap crayons. :P I'm going to Jerry's art-o-rama. ASAP.

  • thank you 'cause i have a TON of oil pastels and i had no clue how to use them

  • are you supposed to rub pastels? im a begginer and i want to experiment with these.

  • @KilLJoYx9 you can but with oil pastels you should do it with paper or q-tip because if you do it with your fingers it looks messy

  • Can't get some of these in the UK. However, Sennelier are excellent oil-pastels. I have a full set of about 100+ Caran d'Ache oil-pastels, BUT mine are Neopastels, NOT Neocolour. Neopastels work with turps, Neocolour work with water. They are both interesting to use but you'd have to watch out in which order you put them on the paper. Water and turps don't mix.

Pentel.....dunno, not a very big range of colour. Prefer others.

Silicon colour-shapers do strange things when dipped in turps....!

  • Thanks. Very good advice

  • Thanks for the info explaining the characteristics and uses of the different types or pastels.

  • China marker has too little available colors, so I did not try them.

But color shaper works really well for oil pastel especially when attending details.

  • The followings are artist quality oil pastels that I have tried:

    Cray-pas specialist

    Sennelier Oil Pastels

    Holbein Oil Pastels

The video shows cheaper student version of Cray-pas oil pastel.

  • kinda pissed you didnt tell us the names of the expensive pastels

  • oil pasteaaaals :L

  • lmfao thumbs up from me (Y)

  • @Crater56 Are you relating? What exactly is your point?

  • What is the brand name for each of the pastel you present here ?

Can China markers blend with soft oil pastel ?

  • I know of a few OP artists that use the china markers, either as under-drawing or for finer detail.

  • @cvaguy yes China markers have a lot of puch and pull.. they are excellent blending tools

  • baga kan tubol
