it certainly has a lot to do with mcdonalds. They have a high say with their low prices , but people pay for that in other ways by eating the crap that they put in. @5 I think obesity is caused by many factors, our lifestyle is 1 big part of it, but not the only cause. They have high living standards in Europe but they are not obese. If we can boil it down to 1 factor then it would be easily solved. All I am saying is that eating fast foods will not help a obese person to lose wt. esp. if they are eating it on a reg. bases. Why not eat fast food once a month or once every 6 mos.

I strongly disagree with you. You need to do some research on marketing techniques. I suggest watching Supersize Me, Fast Food Nation and a book called Chew on this. You said it yourself if Mcdonalds takes toys out of Happy Meals who is going to want them? If you have ever watched a kids show there are an abundance of Mcdonalds commercials. A smiling clown showing off the new toy. When they actually eat the food its covered in salt, fat and sugar, making the food addictive.

I agree that the lawsuit being filed against McDonald's is absolutely ridiculous. CSPI and Ms. Parham are simply abusing our legal system to get free money from one of the biggest and best fast food chains in the world. Fast food restaurants are there for the convenience to us...kinda like a luxury! It's nice to have something different and quick eery now and then...not an everyday thing for a kid at all! A lot of people hold the toys so the kids don't see them and they have to eat all their food, so they can have the toy! You can get a value fry for $1.00 and I think that the small drinks are over a $1.00. It is better to get the larger drink for cheaper...but people can also get fat from soda! Fountain soda is more syrupie than bottled or canned soda! So, which means more sugar that can be stored in your body! We choose what we eat...not the fast food restaurant.
Toys DON'T lead to obesity, nor does fast food, nor packaging. Poor choices, and the inability to say no, on the parents part CAN lead to obesity. Children should not be deciding what they eat. That is a part of parenting.
As for McDonalds enticing kids to want a happy meal with a toy. You can buy the toy separately, and if asked, your local McDonalds will put ANYTHING YOU ORDER in a happy meal box. Cased closed. Shame on the advocates of this lawsuit.

I so agree. I live in Canada so we don't get a lot of people suing McDonalds over pathetic things like this. Anyways, I saw it on Yahoo over a mother suing mcdonalds because her 6 yr old daughter always wanted the happy meal with a toy. I thought it was so funny, what's wrong with people. Totally agree. We all have a choice. Either choose to make healthy meals at home or you choose to go out to eat. But its not the restaurants fault if we choose to eat out too much. It's not the restaurant's fault if we choose not to exercise etc. Parents need to learn to be parents again and put their foot down. Acne is universal, but it's also ugly. I know. I struggled with acne my whole teenage life. Then at 21, I decided to buy and use four different face washes twice daily for six months and I succeeded in beating it once and for all. You gotta be dedicated.

Its not only about overweight, overweight is a signal what something is very wrong. What really is problem is that food in places like McDonalds is not healthy, it destroys you from the inside. I stopped eating at places like McDonalds long time ago, then I switched to bio food, then I started to avoid food containing any bad additives, then I become vegetarian. I spend over 70% of my time sitting near computer, however I still loosing weight, and I eat as much as I want!

Also, I'm proof that exercise is more important than diet. I weigh a whopping 115kg and have been like that for like a year because I don't exercise much. I eat a lot of chocolates like M&Ms coz I need comfort food - my emotions are dicated to by food intake. I'm hungry a lot, but I don't gain much more weight than my 115kg. So it's all good. I've recently bought an XBox Kinect to do some video game exercise. It's a very good idea, the Kinect. Every kid should have one, so video games are cool.
Also, I enjoy your opinionated videos. I wish they went on forever. I think the true cause of obesity is lack of exercise, not consumption of McDonalds. McDonalds is fairly healthy these days. It also comes down to genetics. For that reason, I don't think McDonalds has to change anything. The toy is there just to make things fun. It motivates the kids, yes, but they're crappy plastic things mostly and not worth anything. I say buy the kids real good toys like Iron Man or Star Wars toys.
@Weedleweeb I eat Mcdonalds, I eat fast food places, I am not obese. I eat in moderation, I balance out my dieting/eating habits, and i exersize. And no their toys arent worth anything but they are fun :P i always enjoyed them. I've got a ton of un opened vintage ones as well!
My opinion: I haven't gotten a Happy Meals in like 17 years. I refuse to eat McDonalds where I live because I have problems with the people they hire. :) The people they hire are so fat and ugly, it turns me off. I enjoy fish and chips from Red Rooster or a zinger burger from KFC. Honestly, I think the Happy Meal toys motivate kids to pester their parents and if it's a class-action lawsuit, I can see the point. It's kinda like putting chocolates at the cash registers. Don't want to sound nasty, but if you're employed, you should have the money to buy skincare creams and face washes. As for the price of food, that doesn't really make a different to me. lol I agree its because people are getting lazy! I'm 23 and i still go get happy meals But i will also say the toys now arent as good as when I was a kid and I also miss the little boxes they came in lol anyways people if your gonna get some McDonalds do somthing afterwards atleast go walk but if you cant because your lazy or w?e just stay away from fastfood!

I strongly disagree with you. You need to do some research on marketing techniques. I suggest watching Supersize Me, Fast Food Nation and a book called Chew on this. You said it yourself if Mcdonalds takes toys out of Happy Meals who is going to want them? If you have ever watched a kids show there are an abundance of Mcdonalds commercials. A smiling clown showing off the new toy. When they actually eat the food its covered in salt, fat and sugar, making the food addictive.

Are you going to feed your kids Mcdonalds for breakfast lunch and dinner? It's all about balance, and nutrition, and exersize........... I appreciate your opinion.. I agree that the lawsuit being filed against McDonald's is absolutely ridiculous. CSPI and Ms. Parham are simply abusing our legal system to get free money from one of the biggest and best fast food chains in the world. Fast food restaurants are there for the convenience to us...kinda like a luxury! It's nice to have something different and quick eery now and then...not an everyday thing for a kid at all! If parents sent their kids outdoors to play instead of letting them sit inside an play video games or play on the computer...they might not be as fat! Sorry...I strogly believe obesity is the parents fault! Get your kid off the couch and have them do something to burn the extra calories off!

A lot of people hold the toys so the kids don't see them and they have to eat all their food, so they can have the toy! You can get a value fry for $1.00 and I think that the small drinks are over a $1.00. It is better to get the larger drink for cheaper...but people can also get fat from soda! Fountain soda is more syrupie than bottled or canned soda! So, which means more sugar that can be stored in your body! We choose what we eat...not the fast food restaurant.

Toys DON'T lead to obesity, nor does fast food, nor packaging. Poor choices, and the inability to say no, on the parents part CAN lead to obesity. Children should not be deciding what they eat. That is a part of parenting.
As for McDonalds enticing kids to want a happy meal with a toy. You can buy the toy separately, and if asked, your local McDonalds will put ANYTHING YOU ORDER in a happy meal box. Cased closed. Shame on the advocates of this lawsuit.

Hahahah I agree! And I think McDonalds original premise was to give the poor a days amount of calories for cheap. It's grown into something bigger though because anybody will get lazy/busy and just go there for a meal. Happy meals are not to be tampered with however ;)

I so agree. I live in Canada so we don't get a lot of people suing McDonalds over pathetic things like this. Anyways, I saw it on Yahoo over a mother suing mcdonalds because her 6 yr old daughter always wanted the happy meal with a toy. I thought it was so funny, what's wrong with people. They can't say no to their kids or yet, cook healthy food. Your right it's our choice to eat what we eat, no ones forcing this food down our throats, it's us. I think this person just wants the money.

Totally agree. We all have a choice. Either choose to make healthy meals at home or you choose to go out to eat. But its not the restaurants fault if we choose to eat out too much. It's not the restaurant's fault if we choose not to exercise etc. Parents need to learn to be parents again and put their foot down. When I was little I got to have Mcdonalds occassionally, it was a treat. I was also not allowed to just sit in front of the tv all day with my video game. I went outside & rode my bike.

I totally agree with you. I think who ever thinks other people are to blame for making them fat(outside of mental abuse) are just grasping for straws. It's pure and simple scapegoating, because, after all these years, humanity in general still can't come to terms with ADMITTING we, ourselves, are to blame. We can't admit we screw up, which is why we choose to blame other things and people for our problems. It's really sad, because you would've thought we have come so far, but we haven't.

a cheeseburger happy meal is 2.88 if you order it seperately it eill be 3.20. if you order any of the happy meals they offer seperately it will become more expensive. just saying:)

totally. if it was the company's fault then people could go around suing every restaurant, every grocery store because you CAN get fat if you eat the junk food at ANY place! & if they were only giving their kids happy meals as often as they should (occasionally) then the kids wouldnt get fat- I mean get REAL. a kid has to eat a LOT of happy meals to get really fat so its the parent's problem for shoveling it into their kids mouths.

Acne is universal, but it's also ugly. I know. I struggled with acne my whole teenage life. Then at 21, I decided to buy and use four different face washes twice daily for six months and I succeeded in beating it once and for all. You gotta be dedicated.

The parents claiming that McDonald's toys are making their kids fat need to stop letting their kids eat the toys.
Seriously though, I'm sure these same parents will still take their kids to Mickey D's even if there were no toys. They're also the parents who probably don't cook at home & eat out almost every night. I guess they also think that toys should be removed from cereal boxes, Cracker Jacks, etc.

Its both Macdonald and the parents fault. Mac's fault because, they put toys in food, its to make money, kids getting happy is just a good side effect, it sells and makes kids want there food, more money for old Mac's, its a nobrainer. The parents fault for not having the back bone to say no, and then make a real meal at home. Rofl, the fatty meal!? Thats the new frace, I will make sure all use it from now on ;)

@ladycookieluck Crap, now I too want a cheese burger, I need to raid my fridge later. I'm 24 too (yay us) and I still look at some of the Saturday morning cartoons if I'm up, but the toys in the happy meal, I leave to the kids.
Besides ppl look at me funny when I get them to my siblings, if my siblings weren't there, I believe I would get some were shame full looks ;)

Its not only about overweight, overweight is a signal what something is very wrong. What really is problem is that food in places like McDonalds is not healthy, it destroys you from the inside. I stopped eating at places like McDonalds long time ago, then I switched to bio food, then I started to avoid food containing any bad additives, then I become vegetarian. I spend over 70% of my time sitting near computer, however I still loosing weight, and I eat as much as I want!

Also, I'm proof that exercise is more important than diet. I weigh a whopping 115kg and have been like that for like a year because I don't exercise much. I eat a lot of chocolates like M&Ms coz I need comfort food - my emotions are dicated to by food intake. I'm hungry a lot, but I don't gain much more weight than my 115kg. So it's all good. I've recently bought an XBox Kinect to do some video game exercise. It's a very good idea, the Kinect. Every kid should have one, so video games are cool.

Also, I enjoy your opinionated videos. I wish they went on forever. I think the true cause of obesity is lack of exercise, not consumption of McDonalds. McDonalds is fairly healthy these days. It also comes down to genetics. For that reason, I don't think McDonalds has to change anything. The toy is there just to make things fun. It motivates the kids, yes, but they're crappy plastic things mostly and not worth anything. I say buy the kids real good toys like Iron Man or Star Wars toys.

My opinion: I haven't gotten a Happy Meals in like 17 years. I refuse to eat McDonalds where I live because I have problems with the people they hire. :) The people they hire are so fat and ugly, it turns me off. I enjoy fish and chips from Red Rooster or a zinger burger from KFC. Honestly, I think the Happy Meal toys motivate kids to pester their parents and if it's a class-action lawsuit, I can see the point. It's kinda like putting chocolates at the cash registers. @ladycookieluck Sorry, but when I see someone with bad BAD acne handling my food, I think, jeez and I get turned off. Don't want to sound nasty, but if you're employed, you should have the money to buy skincare creams and face washes. As for the price of food, that doesn't really make a different to me. KFC costs a bit more than McDonalds, but I always judge who's serving the food. I got sick when a Maccas employee picked up a french fry he'd dropped on the floor, then handled my fries. Yuk!

Why is that judgemental? I have OCD so I'm a bit of a hygiene freak. Always have been. So if I appear judgemental, it's because germs are the WORST THING EVER and I think about them all the time and I don't like people with dirty-anythings touching my stuff. This is only natural.
