Sadly this happens too often, I got my dog from the Humane Society she was kept in a basement and used as a target to teach other dogs to be vicious. She was also abused and ate mostly garbage. Its sad and yet most of these animals still trust humans. I can't even think what went through this dogs head when its owners just left it there to die, and never returned.

I work for the Woodford Humane Society. Two years ago, a pitt came in who was literally so emaciated he could barely stand. After months of tlc, the dog we all named Starvin Marvin became a plump and very energetic dog. He was the complete opposite from when he came in. I still tear up thinking about him. Loved that dog!! He was adopted about a year or so ago by a really kind couple with children and is doing great!
