I think it's the island o.o I've seen two videos which I THINK are heading to the same island when this happens, as well as it happening to me as I traveled to this specific island.
The island is a scalar feild. The large tower in the middle of the island is the main weapon shaft. This large island is the site of a Panauan scalar weapon. Google search for "scalar weapon" if you don't know what I'm talking about.
when I was showing my friends this same "cursed island" and I saw this electric ray thing coming straight towards my plane and I was like what the heck is that and then my plane blew up and I was like HOLY CRAP WHAT THE HECK...HAUNTED ISLAND KILLED MY PLANE!!!!!!!!!
@WBA5EAN If you've bought the limited edition or guide book then it should come with a map. If you look on there then you can see where all the airports are (they have a little picture of a plane on them). If not then just have a look around different places and the chances are you'll find one soon.
I think I know what you mean for you second question. No you cannot record while you are at the start menu or if you pause the game. It will only record game footage.
