It's a shame that dubstep has taken the wobbly route. People keep showing me this stuff that's basically rock music with female vocals over it that after like 4 mins drops into some generic wibbly-wobbly dubstep bassline stuff. 2562 is a prime example of how you can create dubstep with it's original 2-step influence while experimenting all around it with-out resorting to wobbles. Amazing.
oh i am a complete noob just stepping into the world of dubstep and i need to know where to start my enlightment. before this i was mostly metal and hard rock with small doses of rap. but after a couples raves where borgore and other dubstep was blaring i fell in liove. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE AWESOME
Dubstep isn't just crazy mid-bass wobbles. This SCREAMS Dubsteppy goodness from every iota of it's being...plus a little trip-hop.
It's got the spacey beat, and big bass. It's also got finesse, which a lot of the popular Dubstep doesn't really anymore, not that it is bad or anything...but this stuff beats it in my opinion.
This is just as much Dubstep as Chasing Shadows, Bar 9, and Borgore are...it's just a different vein of Dubstep.
@musicalconartist true that! i love this dubstep. but i realize that i listen to more Dnb, hardstep, and shuffling that dubstep. do u kno any shufflestep and chillstep songs?
They did for dubstep what pendulum did for drum and bass. I'm not saying I don't listen to either of them because I do but in small doses, we need these artists to distract the mainstream from what's really happening underground, so ssshhhh don't say anything about ............
@GLOKD do you mean that if "people who listen to popular music" were exposed to this music, they wouldn't enjoy it because they're not able to appreciate good music ?
I don't speak english and i'd like to be sure i understood this comment...
My point was that to enjoy this offshoot of dubstep requires a sophisticated appreciation for rhythm (hat work, shuffles, ghost notes); chords (minor 7ths, not obvious majors); melody (twisted, creative); production (no cheesy LFOs) - and a feel for the deep and soulful rather than the formulaic and commercial. Things your average scene kid doesn't pride themself on. It's for this reason that this music remains relatively underground. This is dubstep for museos.
Yeah, liked that tune a lot. Reminded me a lot of Ruxpin-Magrathea (worth a google, 2nd link down) and Murcof-Martes (can find most of that album on youtube.)
@GLOKD Exactly mate :D Loving the vibe in these comments, big ups to all of you, I'm glad people are agreeing with each other for once lol, I'm sure 2562 is more than pleased that no one is arguing over his tune :D
I hate how hating on Caspa and Rusko has become the latest cool thing to do. You see the same repetitive unsubstantiated comments hating on them on every dubstep video on youtube. They're by no means fantastic, especially not any more, but it's people who can't think for themselves and who copy the latest craze that ruined the old style of dubstep and made it mainstream in the first place.
@HexagonalBolts I made this comment a year ago when caspa and rusko were churning out the same formulaic mass-appeal tunes every week. It's not that I'm jumping on any bandwagon, it's that I have a respect for the appreciation of adeptly produced dubstep which has musical integrity. I'm not saying there is no merit in what caspa and rusko have done but by comparison to the likes of 2562 there really is no debate to be had here. 2562 is an innovator and c+r are, as you say, cashing in on a craze.
Great tune 2562
